I am trying to cancel my grandmother's subscription to apple TV and Im having issues with logging in to her account. When I use her log-in info, verify her email and verify her card information, im then asked to verify her phone number. The code gets sent through text and call but whenever I put in the code, I receive "An unknown error has occured." Ive tried different browsers and adjusting time settings to location tracking in her laptop as well but I just can't figure out what's going wrong. If you all have any advice I would appreciate it

I have had my M4 Macbook Air for less than a year. The keyboard randomly stopped working (does not receive input when typing on it) so I took it in to the Apple store. Since it has been less than a year they said they could bring it in for a repair to replace the keyboard. The estimated time was about 12 days. For the past 5 days it’s been saying on my Repair Status page that “Your device is being prepared for pickup.” Tomorrow is the day that they said they estimated that the device would be ready to pick up. I called Apple Support today (because I cannot get a hold of the actual store that it’s at) to ask for a more detailed update and now they are saying actually there’s a problem with the switchboard or something so now they have to wait for another 3-5 days for that part to come in. Why was this not communicated in the status? So I asked for an updated estimate time they will be finished and they cannot give me a date.

I’m getting really frustrated at this point because I am a medical student who heavily relies on that laptop and does not have another device to use. I cannot keep going to the library every time I need to use a computer. Also, this issue with the keyboard is not my fault, I did not spill anything on it and I treat my Macbook like a baby. When I’m not using it, it’s always in a case. I’ve tried calling the store and they just don’t pick up. What are my options here? Should I just buy a new laptop in the mean time and then return it when they give me my laptop back? Who can I call and escalate this to?

I think it’s ridiculous that this issue is happening to a computer that’s so new and they cannot tell me when they plan on having it done or give me any solution. Please help 😭

Edit: Just also wanted to say that I live in a more remote area and the closest Apple Store is a 2 hr drive away, so it is not feasible for me to keep driving back and forth just to converse with them. I wish they would just pick up the damn phone.

Hey guys! I really hope you smart folks can help me in this situation I am in. I recently got a new iPhone and I'm trading in my old one. I transferred everything from my old iPhone to my new iPhone, and the transfer completed successfully. I have my photos, messages, apps, and other data on the new phone.

The only issue is that during setup, my new iPhone asked for my Apple ID password. I thought I knew it, but it kept saying it was incorrect. I used the "Forgot Password" option, verified my information, and Apple started the Account Recovery process.

Apple gave me a date/time when I would be able to reset my password, but that time has passed and I still haven't received the text or phone call. When I check iforgot.apple.com, it still says I need to wait.

I still have my old iPhone signed into the same Apple ID, but I need to send it back for trade-in by August 6.

I'm considering creating a new Apple ID and switching to it permanently, but I have some questions:

1. Since my photos, messages, and data have already transferred to my new iPhone, will they stay there if I sign out of my current Apple ID and use a new one?
2. What data would I lose access to by switching Apple IDs? (Photos, messages, app data, purchases, etc.)
3. Is it better to keep waiting for Apple Account Recovery since I still have access to my old iPhone?
4. If I switch to a new Apple ID, will I run into problems later with apps that were downloaded using my old Apple ID?

I don't want to make the wrong decision before sending my old phone back. Any advice from someone who has dealt with this would be appreciated.

So, I'm an android user trying to set up an Apple ID so I can use Apple TV+ via family sharing. I think I finally managed to successfully create an account, but here's where I'm at now:

• When I tried to log into the family sharing, I got an error message saying I must update my account.
• I went to the account home page, and it asked me to sign in again
• It sent a verification code to my email address and that worked, no problem
• Then it sent a 2FA code to my phone, which I received
• However, when I entered the 2FA code, I got a "An unknown error has occurred" message and it would not allow me to continue. I tried this multiple times with no success.

I genuinely have no idea what to do next. This feels like something that should have been straightforward, and it's taken me the better part of my evening to just get this far. I just want to watch The Murderbot Diaries.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hello, I woke up this morning to the support.apple.com/iphone/restore screen on my iPhone 11. I didn't initiate this, I don't want to get rid of my data on my phone. Is there any way I can fix this? I have an authenticator app on my phone that has ALL my accounts and passwords on it, if my phone is restored back to factory settings I will not be able to get into anything.

When I try the updating option, which I've done 5 times already it gives me an error, 4013 ( Error 4013 on an iPhone typically occurs during an update or restore process and is often related to connection issues between the iPhone and the computer. To resolve it, check your USB cable and ports, restart your iPhone, or try using a different computer. )

I have an extra cord to plug into my PC, but I just might not have storage on my iPhone or any other apple products, which idk if that matters.. But is there anything I can do? I really don't want to lose my data, I have videos of me and my dad talking, photos with him in the hospital, and other important things on my phone that are definitely not backed up. My father passed away almost a year ago, on the 29th it'll be a year and I really don't want to lose anything revolving him.

I just don't want anyone to be able to recovery my data.

I often ask Siri to "remind me to do X when I get home" or "remind me to do Y when I get to the office". While the reminders are created, the reminders end up not getting triggered by the location.

Details:

• This seems to happen because iOS doesn't create a radius around the location (see screenshot)
• The same type of reminder works fine when the location is set manually (not via Siri), and also works fine on my MacBook (both when set with Siri or manually).
• Siri saves the location as "Full Name's Home," while manually-set reminders use "First Name's Home" — might be a clue?
• Started a few weeks ago

Has anyone else seen this, or found a fix? My guess is Siri is now applying a much smaller/incorrect geofence radius around its own "Scott Harrington's Home" entry, while the "Scott's Home" location used by manual and Mac reminders still has a normal radius.

I just got rid of everything in my downloads all my documents all my pictures and moved them to an external hard drive but my computer is still saying I don’t have enough disk space to update it.

what do i do to free up space?

So Apple is refusing to refund a subscription that I cancelled during the free trial and they’re claiming that the company doesn’t offer a free trial. I proved to them that the company does offer a free trial and they’re still denying the refund and this is happening to other people too based on the app’s reviews.

just in case it’s relevant i have an iphone 12, i only have 805 things in my camera roll currently and not many apps. am i just doomed or is there something i can do? i feel like i pretty much just threw 4 bucks down the drain because i still can’t access 99% of my camera roll. (the 3.99 option for more storage said photos and videos were included so i’m confused)

my icloud doesn’t have anything lingering on there either, it looks the exact same as my camera roll and i don’t have any files saved whatsoever. i’m really just at a loss especially because i don’t know much about phones. and yes i turned my phone off and back on after making the storage purchase

i currently use an iphone 8 and i love it! it’s just that it gets really hot and buggy at times. instead of replacing the battery, i want to upgrade my apple device, preferably to one that is the same size as mine!

While playing Minecraft my phone lags much more than it should and drops frames in basic situations. I compared it to my moms iPhone 17 and it ran flawless while mine couldn't stay at 60fps. Basiclly 30fps. It makes no sense.

I share home with others, we’re all on the same network, and it’s weird that I can see what videos they’re watching at any moment on my iPhone lock screen.

What makes it happen, and can it be undone?

My iPhone 15 has been automatically increasing my volume. I put the ringer volume to 0 in Sound & Haptics and then go back and it’s raised to a notch above zero (always by the same amount) by itself. This started happening an hour or so ago and I’ve tried restarting it but that didn’t fix it. It can’t be because of buttons because my buttons aren’t tied to the ringer—my phone is ordinarily always on silent and has been for years.

I am currently using an Iphone 17 pro max, bought in march of this year, its been capped at 80% max battery since, ive been using the standard apple charger, i usually charger it at around 15-25%, is this normal for this kind of situation?

I would like to get one that has a tracking with both the actual airpods and then the case. I'm aware there's multiple models so I was hoping I could get a list. Thank you in advance.
