Vehicle 🔋 Huge parking issue in Abu Dhabi city

Finding a parking in Abu Dhabi city has become really hard and stressful!
With the city’s population rapidly increasing since COVID-19, there’s a huge parking crisis which is impacting the residents. I’m forced to park 8 mins away from home and walk or keep driving around for 20-30 mins everyday to find a parking spot.
I hope the authorities consider and take some measures to combat the issue by building more parking buildings around the city.

Vehicle 🔋 Car seat cooling tips

An underprivileged guy with old car - no seat ventilation feature

Kidding guys - but how do you keep your seat cool?

I don't have ventilated seats and when my car is parked outside, it's crazy sitting on those leather seats for atleast 10 minutes.

What's the trick I'm missing here?

Don't give me idea to buy a new car - sorry.

Genuine advice needed - I was thinking to keep a cotton towel at tha back while driving maybe if that help - or a cushion I don't know. Please share your experience and thoughts

TIA

F&B 🍏 What are the venues in Abu Dhabi that genuinely blew your mind?

I’m building a list of Abu Dhabi’s absolute best food spots. I’m not looking for just “good” places. I want the ones that truly stand out, whether it’s because of the food, coffee, pastries, desserts, views, atmosphere, architecture, or overall experience.
If you have a recommendation, please share:
What to order
Why it’s special
Whether it’s worth the price
Hidden gems are especially welcome!

Education 📚 Feedback on Spanish school AD

I am considering moving my children from British school to Spanish School AD. They are still in early years below the age of 7. I wanted to seek feedback on school, and the ability of the children to adapt being non native spanish speakers. Your feedback is welcome if you have sent children here or have children here.

Vehicle 🔋 Urgent certificate to be sent to bengaluru - Anybody flying from auh?

Like the title mentions, I need to send a certificate to bengaluru as soon as possible(tomorrow or worst case Saturday) . I called a lot of courier services and they all demand atleast 3-5 working days. Is there any courier recommendation that does this faster?

Even better if any of you are flying to bengaluru tonight or tomorrow, could you take it to bengaluru? Its just an envelope with a school certificate

Living 🏡 Need advice regarding accommodation in Abu Dhabi

Hi everyone, I’m looking for suggestions from the Abu Dhabi community.

I have a spare room in my 2BHK apartment in Al Falah Street area and would like to know the best way to connect with a suitable working professional who is looking for a clean and peaceful place to stay.

The apartment is in a family-friendly area, well maintained, and close to daily conveniences.

Any suggestions on reliable platforms or communities where I can find a genuine person would be appreciated. Thanks!

Commerce 🛍️ Need advice

Hi everyone 👋🏻 (Abu Dhabi)

I purchased this home Wi-fi from Etisalat a few months ago but unfortunately I don't need it anymore. It's monthly payments and not expensive at all but I simply don't need it. Canceling costs quite an unreasonable price, so I'm hoping I can find someone in need I can give it to. If not, please give me advice on what I should do with it. Let me know in the comments if you're interested, and we can discuss further information in private messages.

Thank you 🩷

Hello, I’m new from the United States here in Abu Dhabi. Looking to Volunteer. Is anybody in this field of work? Is there a volunteer worker who can direct me?

Back in the states I was working for the YMCA.

Sports 🏅 Why no more half marathon in AD?

We used to have Striders, then just Abu Dhabi HM, then it was part of the ADNOC marathon, then relay only. Now we don't have one at all! Does anyone know what the deal is? Did anyone do this Cyber Run last year/early this year? How was that?

Living 🏡 Anybody know Flat/Apartment in Shabiya area?

Hi, I hope it’s okay if we post this here. We don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m wondering if anyone could help point us to the right people. My friends are looking for a place around Shabiya 10,11,12 in Mussafah. A 2BHK flat/apartment would be great. We tried looking at Bayut, Property Finder and also tried to go out and ask around but no luck there. It’s either it got occupied recently or out of their price range.

If you can help us, please send a dm or if you’re comfortable sharing your whatsapp, that’s fine too.

Thanks!

GCC Lawyers: Kuwait birth certificate Apostille in UAE

hello, I am trying to get a new copy of my Kuwaiti birth certificate issued (if not in the system add my birth via the court) and then get an Apostille at the Portuguese Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

I no longer live in the GCC. What’s the best way to get a lawyer’s help on this?

Hello all!

May I know if there is anyone who pursues acting as full time or perhaps as a hobby at least. Can you let me know where I can practice the same in Abu Dhabi? Are there any groups?

Living 🏡 Has anyone experienced Municipality inspections in Khalifa City?

Hi everyone,

Today a Municipality inspector was stopping everyone going in and out of my compound in Khalifa City and asking for Emirates IDs and tenancy contracts.

I’ve never seen this before so it caught me off guard. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a normal inspection, or does it usually mean there’s an issue with the property? Am I in trouble in anyway?

Also, is renting in Khalifa City generally something to worry about in the long term if the landlord is responsible for any compliance issues?

Careers 💼 Navigating Senior Visa & Mobility roles in Abu Dhabi / UAE?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working in Senior Visa Operations and Global Visa Consultancy for over 10 years across the UAE and India (managing high-volume applications, refusal cases, and process automation with PowerShell/CRMs).

I'm currently looking to transition into new opportunities within the UAE (Abu Dhabi / Dubai), specifically across travel management, corporate mobility, or visa operations.

For those working in regional HR, travel tech, or mobility in Abu Dhabi—what are the most active platforms or agencies right now for senior operational roles? Would also love to connect with anyone in the space!

Careers 💼 Looking for a job opportunity

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well.

I have been jobless for over a year now, and things have become extremely difficult. If there are any entrepreneurs, business owners, HR professionals, recruiters, or e-commerce business owners in this group, I am currently available for Administrative, Operations, Customer Service, or Virtual Assistant (VA) roles.

I am open to both onsite and remote opportunities and available to join immediately. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance.

I am in a very challenging situation and, without employment soon, I am becoming homeless by the end of this month. If you know of any opportunities or could refer me to someone who is hiring, I would be deeply grateful for your support.

Thank you so much for your time and kindness.

Careers 💼 Any private office (1 person) to rent month to month in Abu Dhabi?

I work remotely for a US company and my apartment is too noisy with 2 toddlers roaming around. Looking for a private office space to rent in abu dhabi where office has walls and door (not a shared space) because i have many Teams calls, with 24/7 access (my work hours are 4-1am local time). Some places are requiring business license which obviously does not apply to me. Many thanks.

Networking 🤙 In dire need of a friend here in Abu Dhabi

As the title says, I’m looking for a friend (or friends) who’s in the same situation as me.
I’m a creative who recently transitioned into freelancing and started my own business. I work in video editing and motion design, and I’m looking for people in the same field because building everything on your own can feel really isolating.
I’d love to find someone who’s also freelancing or building their own creative business so we can be accountability partners, share ideas, motivate each other, and celebrate our wins together. It can get lonely sometimes, and I’d really like to have friends who genuinely relate to the journey.

I’m just looking for kind, genuine people. I’m a girl, and I’m not looking for a boyfriend, just pure friendship and a supportive creative community.

Networking 🤙 25+ in Abu Dhabi looking to meet new people and actually do things together?

I recently created a small Discord community for people 25+ in Abu Dhabi who are looking to meet new people, make friends and actually do things together.

I feel like making friends as an adult can be weirdly difficult. Everyones busy with work and life So I thought why not create a space where we can meet people with similar interests and eventually organize things like book clubs, interesting discussions or anything honestly. It's still a brand-new community, so I'm hoping to find some of the first people who want to help shape into a good community god willing.

Tourism 🧳 Best spots in the UAE for first-time campers?

Hi all! I've never been camping before and want to give it a try. Looking for recommendations on beginner-friendly camping spots anywhere in the UAE. Ideally somewhere:
- Not too remote (easy to find/navigate to as a first-timer)
- Safe for beginners, maybe with some infrastructure or facilities nearby
- Nice scenery (desert, mountains, beach — open to anything!)

Bonus points if you can recommend what gear I'd actually need for a first trip, or if there are guided/group camping options for beginners. Thanks!! ✨
