Asia Sharing Experience_Use Condom.

I'm 29M. I never thought I'd be writing something like this, but if this helps even one couple avoid what we went through, it's worth it.

My girlfriend and I are an unmarried couple in India. We got careless. We sometimes relied on the pull-out method and weren't consistent with condoms.

We became the statistic.

When the pregnancy test turned positive, our lives flipped overnight. It was a 6-week gestation.

We had to be discreet. Plus, getting MTP pills in Gurugram (India) was near impossible, as it's considered "illegal" by many pharmacies there. The doctor wouldn't even prescribe them on paper.

We finally went ahead with a medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) using the Unwanted Kit (mifepristone + misoprostol). We genuinely believed it would be over in a few days.

It wasn't.

Not to mention the heavy cramps and bleeding that came after taking the second pill. According to my girlfriend, it was 3× worse than her first-day period pain. The total bleeding/spotting lasted 7–8 days.

The abortion wasn't complete. An ultrasound showed retained pregnancy tissue (RPOC). We waited, hoping it would pass naturally. More bleeding. More waiting. More scans. More anxiety. We ended up doing three scans, one every week.

In the end, she had to undergo a D&C to remove the remaining tissue, or it could increase the risk of infection and potentially cause problems in a future pregnancy, which we didn't want to risk.

From start to finish, the whole experience cost us approximately ₹26,000 (consultations, scans, medicines, procedures, follow-ups, etc.). The money hurt, but honestly, the emotional stress was much worse.

Watching someone you love go through pain while feeling helpless is something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Those weeks were filled with:

Fear that something had gone wrong.

Repeated ultrasounds and doctor visits.

Worry about bleeding, infection, and future fertility.

Keeping everything secret because we're unmarried.

Constant guilt and anxiety.

I'm not writing this to scare anyone or ask for sympathy.

I'm writing this because I used to think, "Pulling out is probably good enough."

It isn't.

If you don't want a pregnancy:

Use a condom every single time.

Don't rely on the pull-out method.

If something goes wrong, learn about emergency contraception and act quickly.

Don't assume you're the exception.

We thought, "It won't happen to us."

It did.

USA I need help, I ordered abortion pills online through women on web, they sent 1 mifepristone and 12 misoprostol pills

Guys I can really use some help. I'm very scared, and nervous. I got the pills in and I don't know how many of the miso I'm supposed to take, nothing I got specifies how many, I know at least 4, but how will I know I'll need to take more, how many more do I need to take? Do I take all 12?

Please, please help. I love in a state where it's illegal past 6 weeks I'm 8 almost 9 weeks now, I've never used Reddit before, I'm so sorry if I didn't do something right. But I can't find any information to help me. I've already taken the first pill last night so I know I need to take the miso soon. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Europe MA 12+6 weeks experience

Hi, I had a medical abortion in week 12+6 on the 7th of July. I felt a lot of fear before the abortion and looked up other women’s stories but mostly found horror stories so I wanted to share my own positive experience. I’m not going to talk much of my emotional experience but of my physical and medical experience.

I found out that I was pregnant in late June and booked an appointment the next day for a MA at home. At the appointment I found out that I was further along than I expected. Because I was more than 10 weeks pregnant I couldn’t do the abortion at home so they referred me to a hospital that called me and booked an appointment.

I went to the hospital on the 5th of July to get the mifepristone pill and they took a blood test to find out my blood group. I also got four cytotec pills to take at home before my appointment on the 7th, high dose of ibuprofen and naproxen and a morphine pill to take in case I was in a lot of pain. They also informed me to come in immediately if I started bleeding and gave me a number to call if I had any questions . The next day I felt fine, no pain or nausea.

I was supposed to take the pain medicine at 05.30 am on the 7th and take the cytotec vaginally at 6am. When I woke up I had started bleeding and called the number that I received. She was a bit rude but eventually told me to not take anything and just come in to my appointment at 8am. I came in at 8am and got my own room and connected toilet. I then got ibuprofen and naproxen and the cytotec pills to take orally. They wanted to put an iv in me but I was really stressed about needles so she gave me the option to not have an iv and that they would put an iv in case of an emergency. The next hours I just felt some mild cramping and got a heating pad. I hade some light bleeding like the last day of a period. I slept a bit and the nurse came back at 11am and gave me to two more cytotec. I still felt fine and wasn’t bleeding much, I just some cramps so my partner and I went for a short walk. The cramps then got a bit more intense but not more than a powerful menstrual cramp. At 1.40pm I felt a pop and went to the bathroom and realised that my water hade broke. The pain got more intense bus still bearable. The nurse came back at 2pm and gave me two more cytotec and some more ibuprofen. At 2.15 pm I felt a pressure in my uterus kind of like I had to poop and went to the toilet. The foetus then came out and a few seconds later the placenta. They had a bedpan over the toilet that catches everything. When the foetus came out I had an instinct to look and to see the foetus was the hardest part. I cried for a few minutes and then pressed the button for the nurse to come. The took everything out of the room to check that I had passed everything. She then came back to give me a shot in my asscheek that was ment to retract the uterus. I hade to stay in the hospital for one hour so they could monitor my bleeding. I bled quite a lot but not abnormally so they let me go home after an hour. In the next few days I bled quite a lot and had some cramping. Now a bit over two weeks later the bleeding has almost stopped and I have no cramps.

I’m thankful that I live in a country that has accessible abortion care and a lot of support.

I realise that I’m lucky to have had this experience with abortion and I know that a lot of people felt a lot worse physically but I would have been grateful to not only had read stories of horrible experiences before my abortion.

USA Feeling selfish for wanting an abortion

Hi there. I just found out I’m pregnant and desperately want to not be. I’m 35, have 3 beautiful children (9,7,4) and was done having kids. Stupidly, I wasn’t the best with my bc pills, thinking it would be okay because it had always been okay. With my middle kiddo, I had preeclampsia and my youngest I was induced early to avoid having it again. Given my age, history and weight, it’s very likely that I would have complications with this pregnancy.

On top of all that, we’ve recently gone through a ridiculous amount of life changes. My dad passed away in October after a battle with cancer and me sitting beside him for his two weeks on hospice. After he passed, we bought a house and moved my disabled mom in with us. I’d planned to work and have caregivers and possibly get paid a bit too from the state but it didn’t turn out that way. I quit a job I loved and am now her full time caregiver. I’m struggling a lot to keep things organized as far as medication, appointments and such. She’s bedridden and is not able to help with much.

I struggle with depression and anxiety and have recently just gotten that under control after my dad’s passing. I also have adhd and am working on that too. As mentioned above, I’m considered obese. I just took the plunge and decided to start a glp-1, taking my first dose last week before finding out I’m pregnant. I felt like a normal person and was so excited to finally be doing something for myself.

My husband is incredibly supportive and will go okay either way. I know that I can’t handle another baby. I know that. I keep praying that I’ll miscarry so I don’t have to make the choice to get an abortion. I feel so selfish for wanting an abortion when it was my fault that I messed up my birth control. But I also can’t fathom life if I don’t get the abortion.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I’ve decided to not tell anyone besides my husband and needed to get it out somewhere.

USA Don’t know what to do. I would be his 5th baby mama

Hi so I’m extremely torn on whether to keep my baby or not. I’m leaning towards not and have a procedure scheduled. A few months ago after my relationship ended I started hooking up with my coworker thought I was being safe and taking all precautions clearly not. If I had this child I would be his 5th baby mama. He still lives with his 4th and they have a weird relationship dynamic I guess. So I’m assuming her finding this out would be very upsetting. I also come from an extremely religious family who would disown me for even considering the procedure but also I know who will judge me immensely if I keep it. I already had to go through with one 3 years ago because the father of the child got a terrible disgnosis and I barely survived it. The guilt was awful. But I’m not ready to be a mom I’m pretty sure I also got my chronic illness from the procedure 3 years ago. Another few factors my ex would hate me and I’d hurt him so much. I’ve been telling him I’m not seeing anyone cause I haven’t wanted to hurt his feelings but we still hangout all the time text everyday and he helped me move etc. he tells me he’s gonnna marry me and make it all right. This would hurt him so bad. Also where I work I’m a server his 4th baby mama used to work there so all my coworkers would probably judge me. So I’d be hurting his baby mama my ex and dealing with extreme shame from family friends coworkers. One of my friends even said she’d do it herself to spare me the embarrassment of being the 5th 😞 I told myself never again I never expected this to happen but it seems like all the odds are stacked against me. I’m also chronically ill so being a single mom sounds terrifying. I need some help and guidance on what choice to make

USA Inserted miso this evening, and now I’m pretty scared. passed fetus, pills, and heavy bleeding still.

let me start by saying this isn’t my first time having an abortion, not my first medical one, but the first time I had to order the stuff myself without going to the clinic first. Heads up: I apologize in advance for any typos, grammar errors or anything like that it’s now 4 AM when I’m about to post this. I’m extremely tired. I have barely gotten any sleep for the past couple days
I live in FL. we unfortunately had the law changed where you cannot get an abortion past six weeks pregnant.. apparently, I was 7 weeks three days. I thought I was going to be forced into motherhood. Then a friend showed me how to get the pills.
Fast forward to now: inserted 4 to start. was supposed to insert a 2nd dose fours later, but the cramping was UNBEARABLE. my timing is a bit off, but after that dose about 4-5 hours later the bleeding begins.. finally I thought! About an hour, maybe two later if got heavy. No clots, but the four pills I took along with the fetus. I can’t even call it that anymore after seeing that. It fucked me up I’m not gonna lie. I’m still pro choice, and don’t regret my decision.
Now, this is why I’m scared. I’ve calmed down a bit after typing this out as the bleeding has slowed even more. I was definitely putting out the amount of blood that calls for a trip to the ER. yes I could have lied, and said i think I miscarried, and needed to be checked because of the blood loss. They can’t tell the difference between a medical abortion, and a miscarriage..if taken orally. The fragments from the pills can stay inside of you for a few days. Granted, I passed all four. One looked a little dissolved, but not really. I don’t really like lying.
Can anyone convince me this is normal? Now, don’t worry I’m not ignoring the situation at all. I just need to wait a few more hours until the place who prescribed them to me opens. I’m wondering if I need to take the second batch or not. Considering they were obviously up high enough, and per google my body took in enough of the miso since it was in longer than 30 mins, and what came out was undeniable. Just nervous about what didn’t come out? Like I said cramping, and bleeding have went down a down a ton. I was light headed, but was running on an empty stomach for a little bit more than 24 hours. Of course, I get shortness of breath if someone asks me if I’m having trouble breathing.. because now I’m manually breathing. Plus, the anxiety did not help.. that’s allll gone now though. All I do is worry though unfortunately. Anyone go through a similar situation? If so, how did it work out? How many doses did you take? And how do you take them?
Will update this once I get in touch with someone within 5-6 hours, hopefully earlier 🫶🏼

USA Difficult MA experience TW

I found out I was pregnant July 4th and was really early maybe 3/4 weeks and I scheduled a medical abortion for July 17th.

This is my second time using the medication from planned parenthood so I heavily prepared. Biggest pads I could find, heating pads and ice packs ready. All painkillers ready to take like clockwork, excess amounts of Gatorade and snacks easy on my stomach. Even changed my bedding to a set I didn’t really care about incase I bled all over it. Took the Friday and Monday off work so I had plenty of time to rest.

Worst was Friday, I had no bleeding for 5 hours so took the second dose vaginally (I’ve always taken them vaginally cause my nausea is so bad for weeks) and then bleeding started. I was in pain for about 5 hours before I could finally sleep and the bleeding was consistent throughout Saturday. I actually thought I passed it on Saturday but I’m guessing it was actually just a big blood clot.
Sunday I felt okay like I was bouncing back and in higher spirits and my nausea had finally gone and I was starving. Then in the evening I started getting cramps. Took some ibuprofen and went to bed.

Monday rolls around and I’m still okayish until around 4pm where my cramping was so insanely bad I was crying and glued to my heating pad. I bled a lot and frequently. I thought oh I remember this pain it’s finally passing. I tried walking around through the cramps and let gravity help along til it got to the point where the bleeding was so intense I decided to go to hospital.

They were really kind and I got seen to pretty quickly. I was worried from the amount of blood and the fact that I was on hour 76 from the second dose of pills. I had bloodwork done and an ultrasound that came back saying I was still pregnant.

I asked how could this happen I took two doses of the pills and I was at the 5 week mark. The doctor said it’s nothing to predict it and sometimes the cervix just doesn’t open up quick enough for the medication. She reassured me that it wasn’t a full sack so some of it had left my uterus and I could still be in the middle of passing the cells.

Cramping continued today pretty badly but bleeding has dramatically slowed down. If the cramping continues I’m going back to the hospital tomorrow. If there are still some ‘residual products of pregnancy’ I have to get a surgical abortion.

This didn’t happen the first time but hopefully it’s just delayed. I’m glad I sought medical advice to put my mind at ease to figure out what’s happening with my body. It’s okay to ask for professional help even if you’re scared and worried it’s an inconvenience. I did this alone and it’s going to be okay. Just have to keep checking your temperature to ensure there is no risk of infection.

I do not regret having the abortion. Take care of yourselves ❤️

Canada Medical abortion

Just wanted to share my experience for the ladies who may be also going through it!

June 20th I took the first pill (the mifepristone), the following day I felt very tired, nauseated, and had bad heartburn. I was also vomiting the night of the 21st. On the 22nd, I took the misoprostol buccaly. At the 25 minute mark, I felt this overwhelming wave of nausea and ended up vomiting. While this was happening, I began having abdominal cramping, heavy bleeding (while passing large clots), and having sweats/chills. This happened for about an hour, then for probably 8 hours it was constant abdominal pain, fatigue, and bleeding. For the remainder of the week, light off and on spotting with the occasional clot would pass.

The majority of my bleeding occurred when I would sit on the toilet. I would pass moderate/large clots this way, and had normal bleeding when at rest in the pad.
With all this being said, I was keeping my NP up to date on what was happening. From the amount of blood passed, and my blood serum HCG levels trending downward (pre abortion level was 6571 IU/L, day 4 post misoprostol was 1955 IU/L, and 2 week post misoprostol was 1194IU/L) we assumed a successful abortion. As we know it can take up to 6 weeks sometimes longer for HCG levels to return to 0. This was not something we were worried about.

Fast forward to July 16th, I began having abdominal cramping and passed a very large clot. I soaked a pad in 2 hours at bedtime and continued to pass small clots for the next day or so. I let my NP know. We went back and fourth on weather it could be my period starting or possibly retained tissue from the abortion. I had no fever, chills, or foul smelling discharge. She advised I take a pregnancy test so I did and it was positive still. She requested an urgent ultrasound and bloodwork. When I was done my ultrasound, they advised I goto emerg, which I then learned I had a 2cm fragment leftover.

This morning I inserted the misoprostol vaginally due to the intense nausea I had from the buccal route. Fingers crossed I pass the tissue. If this is unsuccessful, a d&c will be my next step.

Sharing my story to hopefully help others who may experience a similar situation. We got this!

USA five weeks pregnant about to take the pill

hi everyone, i need as much input as possible and preferably from anyone in the medical arena. im f(25) , and im five weeks pregnant. this would be my second abortion ever. my first one was when i was 17 in high school. i did the pills but ended up having to go to the hospital because of severe vomiting and abdominal pain.

it was incredibly traumatic and i want to avoid going through that again. it involved my parents and deeply disappointed them, and i for many different reasons, still live at home with them and would like to avoid putting them through this again.

i am picking up the pill from a friend who did me the kindness of buying it in mexico and im planning on going over to a friend’s house for a day to do the process. i am not planning on doing the mif but only the mis.

the thing is, im also planning on taking promethazine + ondaesteon beforehand along with tramadol and advil.

i really want to avoid throwing up to the best of my abilities and make this as painless as possible. i want to know if this plan of mine is effective and if i could avoid traumatizing my friend too.

this is urgent and id appreciate all input.

edit/update: my friend who got the miso from mexico had earlier told me he was able to get the mif as well which calmed me down because everyone was replying i would need both but he just told me he wasnt able to. i am freaking out. will it still be effective if i wait a week? or do i just take the risk and do it with the miso alone? i hate being in this position again and i feel incredibly stupid and alone. please someone help me.

USA I had an abortion a month ago and am now getting anxiety it failed

Hi everyone, looking for some reassurance or similar experiences because my anxiety is through the roof right now. Here is my exact timeline and symptoms:

June 15: Took misoprostol for a medical abortion.

One week later: Saw my gynecologist, who confirmed the abortion was 100% successful and complete via a vaginal ultrasound.

The symptom gap: Shortly after the procedure, my initial pregnancy breast soreness completely disappeared and I felt normal for weeks.

Current symptoms (5 weeks post-procedure): Over the last couple of days, my breast soreness has come back and feels more intense today. My nipples are also itchy. I am dealing with noticeable abdominal bloating and severe anxiety.

Important context: I have had absolutely zero sexual activity since my procedure on June 15.
I’m terrified that these returning symptoms mean I'm somehow still pregnant, but logically I know the ultrasound was clear and I haven't had sex. Has anyone else had their pre-pregnancy symptoms disappear completely, only to have severe breast pain, itching, and bloating come back right before their first post-abortion period? How long did it take for your bleeding to finally start? Also I am a severe overthinker and always have problems with my anxiety so this may just be a case of me needing to be reassured 🥲
Thanks in advance

Edit:
I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative!! Thank you to all who commented and helped me gain the courage to take it🙏🏻

USA My Medical Abortion Experience (5 weeks)

New to reddit, but reading other stories was helpful to me so I wanted to share my experience. I ordered the pills through Aid Access and received them in 3 days. A warning that I had not seen anything about: these pills can act FAST. I took the first round under my tongue and my partner went to grab me some snacks from the gas station, both of us assuming that nothing would happen for a while. Within the ~15 minutes he was gone, I had diarrhea 3 times, fainted and fell off the toilet, and threw up. That was probably the worst of it, I haven’t heard this from any other stories, and I do have a history of extreme periods with similar symptoms, so don’t panic, but definitely be prepped with everything you need/want beforehand because it came on quick for me. Since I threw up right around the 15 minute period that would cause me to have to start over, I laid back down, mentally preparing myself to do it all over again. I was in quite a bit of pain, I was literally just face down nonverbal, which made me wonder if the pills were taking effect and I did not have to start over. I called the hotline number after laying in pain for 2 hours and the woman on the phone was super helpful and kind and assured me that based on my symptoms, it was definitely working and I could continue with the regular pill schedule. Basically after the first 30 hellish minutes it was a steady, fairly intense pain for 4-5 hours, and slightly less pain for another 2-3 after that. I am about a month out now and haven’t really experienced anything out of the ordinary. For anyone who is going through this and is feeling as sad and terrified as I was, it’s going to be okay, there are resources to help you (no matter what state, I’m from MO), and you are brave and capable and strong!!

USA I feel pressured to get an abortion-SC

Upvotes

I’m 8 weeks, in SC, I’ve been with my boyfriend for 7 months now. Yes, this was a BC failure. But he keeps pressuring me to get an abortion. I have had one previously but I cannot do the emotional turmoil after. After going through it once, I can’t do it. How do I even begin to tell him this?

And yes, I’d have to go out of state to get an abortion.

USA My experience: probable miscarriage/chemical pregnancy before planned abortion.

Hi all! 31F here. I was diagnosed with PCOS just over 10 years ago, but have been regularly ovulating and menstruating for nearly three years with only lifestyle changes and no medical interventions. My boyfriend and I are sexually active but use condoms.

My last period began just over 6 weeks ago. In the weeks following, I began to notice odd symptoms - breast swelling and tenderness, mild cramping, mild spotting, mood swings, increased hair growth in my abdomen.

After missing my period, I took a pregnancy test 8 days ago, and tested positive. I visited my OBGYN and, although she said that it was too early to do an ultrasound, my HCG levels were high enough to indicate a six week pregnancy.

As this was unexpected, my boyfriend and I were very panicked. He volunteered to marry me and work so that we can bring the baby to term, but we both knew that the likely choice would be abortion. I am pro choice, but found this possibility to be emotionally excruciating. My boyfriend has been very supportive, and pretty much moved into my apartment to do my chores and care for me.

Yesterday, exactly one week after the first positive pregnancy test, I began to notice clear, light red/pink mucus when I peed in the morning, along with some mild cramping. I have experienced both once or twice per week for the past week, and didn’t think anything of it. However, the bleeding increased through the day, to the degree that I needed to put in a pad. I began passing small (size of a lentil/sesame seed) dark maroon blood clots around 4:30 PM.

At 8 PM, I felt a strong cramp, and passed two 2-3 inch masses. One was a soft dark red/maroon triangular clot (the color of endometrial lining) with two soft white/jelly like pockets and a small, hard, opaque lump the size of a large pea between them. The other was smooth and dark red/maroon on one side and looked like purplish hamburger meat on the other. I have never had period clots that look like this, or are this large.

The bleeding greatly decreased after this, and has consisted of small bits of endometrial lining. Thankfully, I have no fever, abdominal pain, lightheadedness, or nausea/vomiting.

I called my OBGYN and have an HCG blood test scheduled for Friday. I also took a rapid pregnancy test and, although the test still indicates pregnancy, the indicator line is now extremely faint (compared to the strong lines that I’ve been getting all week).

I am very conflicted. Although I knew that I would likely have an abortion and am still waiting for answers, part of me genuinely wanted the pregnancy and is very much mourning. I am also reeling from the insane timeline of this whole thing - to be consciously pregnant for one whole week, only for the whole thing to end so suddenly.

Has anybody had a similar experience?

USA Sex after SA, how long?

I’ve read conflicting recommendations: it’s safe to have sex when I feel ready, wait 1 to 2 weeks, etc. The abortion provider said to wait 6 weeks for sex and tampon use, just like if I had a baby. That seems excessive. I am 6 weeks and 2 days, SA planned for today.

How long did you wait? With a birth control plan of course :)

I would like more information about this, they made sure to repeat this multiple times to make sure I took precautionary measures. I wonder what increased fertility means and if this is true?

USA Abortion funding

Hello everyone I’m sorry if I’m all over the place I’ve been really stressed and I don’t know what to do. About a week ago I found out I was pregnant I’m only 20 and for many reasons I cannot go through with this pregnancy. My boyfriend has been so supportive and helpful throughout this whole process but our financial situations simply cannot handle this right now. For context I got kicked out of my house a couple months ago and my car insurance is ridiculously high because of my state. I work part time and my boyfriend just recently started his job and he also works part time. I’ve reached out to abortion funds but they haven’t helped because they ran out of funding and my state only has 2 websites. Planned parenthood gave me a quote of $700 for my abortion and $100 for initial consultation. Is there any advice you guys can give so I don’t cry myself to sleep every night from how hopeless I feel.

Australia and New Zealand Feeling emotionally distant post abortion. Is it just hormones?

I had a surgical abortion 2 weeks ago at 8 weeks. I have no regrets as it was the best decision for myself and my partner.

I have genuinely never felt happier or more supported in a relationship than the one I am currently in even though we haven’t even been together for more than 6 months. I love him dearly and am very excited for what the future has in store for us. However, I am feeling so distant from him post SA and so unsure about my relationship. I feel insanely insecure and unsure of myself and doubt the future of my relationship a lot. I have never had thoughts like this prior to the pregnancy. I continually think he’s hiding things, lying etc. I try not to expel these thoughts and irrational fears onto him because obviously they are irrational, erratic and not representative of how I truly feel.

Whilst I am able to acknowledge this, I can’t help but just want to be alone and almost avoidant. I feel so distant from him and I just feel an insane lack of connection.

Understandably, this is a very emotionally and physically taxing thing in a relationship let alone one in its early stages. I wonder if I feel so distant because of my hormones adjusting or if it’s something bigger than that.

Would love to know about your experience post abortion? Did you feel distant from people or partners? Did you feel hormonal? etc. Thank you!

USA 19 abortion pills

I read a lot of stories on here and they’ve just given me mixed feelings. finding out I honestly broke down, I couldn’t believe the two lines were actually there. I mean I mean I’m young, still in school, broke, and honestly the partner I’m with I don’t think he’s for me in the end. I knew immediately what I needed to do.I was assaulted when I was younger and always feared I wouldn’t be able to reproduce.Due to the amazing relationship I had with my mother before her passing it made me also want to become a mother even more myself BUT I want to make sure I’m ready. So finding out I actually could I felt a small bit of joy and relief. I know I still want to proceed I just can’t help feel guilt. I was terrified of going in and talking to people or seeing anyone and it feeling so real. I was able to order the pills to my home since I am about 6 weeks, and I decided to wait until I have the next day/2 off due to the HORROR stories I read. But I’m wondering if I’m really waiting till I’m off from work like I say or if I’m really just terrified of the pain. I’ve also been feeling like shit mentally, usually I’m so joyful and energetic. Lately I just feel dead, emotional and my stomach keeps hurting and this wave of nausea just always comes.I just want to go back to being myself. Honestly I don’t know what I’m looking for in writing this, maybe it’ll help someone maybe someone can HELP ME.

Canada Positive MA experience at 10 weeks

Long story short, I was dealing with kidney stones and symptoms from that and stress on my body made me think nothing was going on when my period was a week late, it’s always fluctuated by a week or so.

My last kidney stone ultrasound was June 24, on July 2 I received a call from my doctor letting me know I was pregnant. I thought I was probably around 6 weeks then. I’m 23 and it’s my first pregnancy but I was very confident in my immediate decision to terminate, I want children but I’m not in a state to be pregnant or have a child right now.

The next day I looked around for options, I found out where I live in Ontario doesn’t offer medical abortions which is the route I wanted to take. I had to call the hospital in London, ON and they made me an appointment for July 17. The wait time worried me as I wasn’t %100 sure how far along I was.

Between then and my appointment I had terrible pregnancy symptoms, sickness all day, food aversions, absolutely exhausted, tender breasts.

June 17, drove an hour to my appointment:
9:00 got in for ultrasound
9:30 went in to see nurse/ doctor to discuss options. At this point I was told I was 10 weeks exactly based on the ultrasound.
9:45 signed paperwork & did blood work
10:00 doctor meets to confirm consent of abortion
10:05 sent off with prescription to pick up at the pharmacy in the hospital
10:30 picked up medications
10:45 went home
Very quick process!

Later that day, (8pm) I took the mifo as I had things to do the next day
July 18: 8pm took first dosage (4) of miso
9pm: cramping/ stomach pain & nausea, took pain medication and nausea medication
10pm: bleeding began
11:30pm: in more pain, began passing clots and rush of blood
12:00am: took second dose (4) of miso
12:30am: passing a lot of small clots & heavy bleeding. Took more pain meds.
1:30am: very large (largest) clot, almost had to push out and then a large rush of blood.

Pain was very tolerable with the pain meds

Went to bed and have had what seems like normal period bleeding since with some small clots but not unusual.

July 20: Went to get bloodwork and urine sample done in my city and it was sent to the doctor in London.
July 21: Received email from doctor that confirmed my results showed completion of medical abortion.

Overall I’m very happy with my decision and the process went much smoother than I was planning for.

Australia and New Zealand Am I the bad person here?

For context I 20F and my “husband” 23M have been married since December of last year. We’re from Sydney and at one point we were living together but now I am staying back at my mum’s house.

I am 14 weeks pregnant. A couple of weeks ago, I went through my husband’s phone (when I was living with him) and found out that he was messaging many other different women including pictures of himself.

After I found out, I was quite upset. I showed his father the phone, which caused quite the drama in his family where his family stopped talking to him for days. After all of this, I packed up all of my things, told him I didn’t want to be with him anymore and will be aborting the baby.

Since then, me and my husband have been talking, he thinks everything is fine but I still don’t know if I want to be with him but even moreso, I still want to get an abortion because I’m not going to carry a baby for a man who can cheat on me whilst I’m pregnant.

He has told me not to get an abortion because he wants to have the baby with me. He has told me he wants the baby multiple times and has stated that he will never forgive me if i have one.

AITA in this situation? I have to think about my future as well. I don’t want to end up a single mother, I don’t even have a job right now I’m a full time University student. What kind of life could our child even have right now?

USA Looking for support - July has been rough.

I (21F) have been beaten back and forth by this Mercury Retrograde. Beginning of July I was told I had a huge growth on my ovary, then I got a check engine light on my car because of some gas leak, then I’ve been having anxiety attacks along with mixed bipolar 2 episodes, and on top of it all I’ve been experiencing terrible cramps and want to bite my boyfriends head off.

Well, today I was like “hm, maybe I should take two tests because I was supposed to get my period a few days ago” and bitch I’ll just let you guess what the results were.

As I’m on FaceTime with my boyfriend sobbing on the bathroom floor, I hear my parents fighting about money and bills - like guys we have bigger fish to fry here (jokes jokes)

TL;DR - I just really need support and kind words, i obviously know I won’t be keeping it because I can barely take care of myself right now, I’m finishing university, and I plan on going to esthetics school.

USA panicking at the idea I might be pregnant

Upvotes

hello all, this is on a throwaway for privacy and protection

im coming here to

one. I suppose vent out my fears

and

two. see what my "possibly" is and any advice

normally period starts early. however, I've been stressed and upset all month. when I went to check my calendar to see how close my period should start, I realized that the last time I had sex was on day 2 of my fertility window.

me and my partner didn't use a condom nor did we buy a plan b afterward. while he didn't finish inside or near my vagina, I know pre can still contain viable sprem.

I live in a red state when abortion is heavily restricted, and my parents are traditional. im fortunate enough to live on the border next to a blue state.

as of writing this, I still have abt 1 more day until my period should "start". im trying to keep calm as still being stressed can delay it more.

USA Rethinking my abortion appointment, need advice.

Upvotes

I am 24, been with my boyfriend for 9 months. It was not planned since we thought we were being safe. I do not know what to do. I still live at home with my parents. I am unhappy at home, but moving in with my boyfriend and being a family is not the solution. I love him with all my heart, but love is not enough to make a relationship work and I do not yet know if we have the right foundations for such a lifelong commitment.

I am roughly 3-6 weeks along and I am feeling overwhelmed. Prior to finding out I am pregnant, I did not want children. I am not maternal with other people's children; I did not even like them. Simply the idea of having a child grow inside me was appalling.

The goal was to reach financial independence and retire early, and live my life on my own terms in between, however that may look like. If I had a partner, I wanted to be a DINK (dual income no kids) couple.

Since I found out the news, I am struggling with it. It is not an easy decision either way. I scheduled an abortion, but I have doubts. I now can't stop picturing our baby -- our family. I think we would make up a beautiful family. There's no guarantee that our baby will be healthy or easygoing (basically the roll of a dice) and those two either make or break the happy family illusion I have right now. If both of these are not the case, I know I will love it either way but I am afraid I will become a regretful parent and detest my life. I am aware no child now does not necessarily imply no child in the future, so why is this decision so hard?

I am wondering if these feelings are because of the pregnancy changing my brain chemistry. Pre-pregnancy me would indulge in the thought for a brief second, then be disgusted because the want for everything that gets traded off outweighs the want for a baby... let alone a baby that grows in me.

My boyfriend is very supportive of whichever decision I make, though he did state his preference for an abortion. I think I also prefer it? The day I found out, before I told anyone, I made my way to a clinic, completely on autopilot, and would've had an abortion but they turned me away because it was too early to see anything. Now a week has passed and I just can't help but wonder 'what if's'. It doesn't help that I asked AI to generate pictures of what our baby would look like potentially (I am torturing myself at this point for some reason I cannot pinpoint)

The logical thing would be to get rid of the current clump of cells. After all, that is what it is at this point. It is so hard though. I do not understand why my brain cannot cooperate with logic since I found out these news. It is either abort or keep, adoption is not an option. If I keep, I know I will love it too much to give it away. If I abort, I will spend the next few weeks or months and every mother's day thinking what if's. But regretting not having it is better than regretting having it, no?

I need advice. Advice on anything.. what to do, what not to do, anything... I've only told my best friend and my boyfriend but I'd really appreciate some outside perspective please.

USA 41 yo 3 weeks since conception MA experience (positive)

I wanted to add another positive experience on here. Like everyone else I was reading lots of scary stories and getting freaked out!

Around 2 weeks after conception, I started getting this very strong feeling that something was very very wrong in my body. I almost went to the er, but i didn't even know what I would tell them. A few days later I started getting really bad cramps but no period. 3 days later, still a few days before my period was due, I took a pregnancy test. I was able to get the pills three days later, so around 22 days post conception. Hours after taking the first pill I finally felt relief from that impending doom feeling. I suspect but I can't confirm that my body was in the process of miscarrying.

I took the miso a few hours early (so like 20 hours after the first pill). Four hours later I started bleeding The cramps were bad but the 800 mg ibuprofen made them tolerable. I was able to go out grocery shopping and have a meeting from home totally fine. The bleeding was exactly the same as first day period bleeding but maybe a little bit more brown? I took the ibuprofen and zofran every 8 hours the first day. The next day I woke up with no cramps and the bleeding was minimal.

USA How normal is retaining pregnancy tissue

It’s been a week since i’ve had my MA. at the time i did it i was around 5 weeks. i had bleeding and cramping the first day and light bleeding the following days after which they said was normal. I went back to get my blood drawn a few days later at planned parenthood so they could check my hcg levels had gone down. i got a call 3 days after and they told me i needed to go to the er since my levels had gone up and they weren’t sure if i had an ectopic pregnancy. at the hospital i ended up getting a d&c since they were scared of infection but had told me that i only had retaining tissue left. my question is how common is this?? i thought i had bled out all the tissue and clots related to it. mind you i had no symptoms prior to my MA.
