The battle royale would, as the title states, take place in a virtual reality. It is lifelike, and you have all 5 senses. Pain is the same as irl too, tho dying ingame will not kill you irl. You will be fighting against 28 other fighters. Only one can win, no time limit. A random irl weapon is assigned to you upon joining, but you can find others around the map, most 'real', tho a few are like rayguns or lightsabers. The map is of an abandoned and isolated island. If you win, you get free video games for life. If you lose, you obviously do not, but you are still allowed to play video games.

Refusing entails you are physically unable to ever play a video game again as it refuses to work if you try. You are still allowed board and tabletop games like DnD tho.

if you choose 10,000 years, you will remain exactly 33 years old for that duration. all your ailments that you have now will be healed. you can still die from causes other than disease or natural death, so people can kill you. not too long that you’d definitely see humanity perish, not long enough for human bodies to evolve significantly before you.

if you choose to pick a time to live in, you’ll live the average lifespan of that time. however, it’s also affected by your own genetics. so if modern medicine adds 30 years to your life, those 30 wouldn’t exist in the past, or, in the future, it can be much more.

once you choose, you’re born there, your memories wiped clean, and you have a new life.
