The New Gen Z Employee is INSUFFERABLE
First week on the job, he was told to manage the mailbox (like 20–30 emails a day) plus some document-checking tasks. He got a few guidelines and handbooks to follow. But whenever he gets an inquiry outside of those guidelines, instead of asking a supervisor, he just spits out gibberish from ChatGPT.
Then there’s the document checking. Each file usually has 10+ items that need to be revised manually. Sure, it takes time to get used to, but it’s been half a year and he still regularly misses 1-2 items.
And don’t even get me started on the other random stuff. He’s so careless it’s ridiculous. I can see he actually checked things, but somehow he still manages to miss details almost every single time.
He’s also tasked with helping at reception sometimes. He’s super unfamiliar with it, yet he volunteers every single time to answer. Then he just ends up running back and forth asking coworkers what to do with client inquiries. And when he panics (client waiting there), he forgets to even say thank you, or just starts firing off questions without checking if the coworker is even free.
P.S. I am the new Gen Z employee, and I think I should resign.
