Community Feedback Post

Hey everyone,

I'm posting this as a new mod in this group. Dovestep55 and I have been wondering what would you like to see more of in this space? Do you have suggestions for particular things you would find helpful to have here that we don't so far? We have lots of ideas we are hoping we can incorporate over time, but we wanted to check in with our user base to find out if there are specific things we could be doing to make this space better or more of a resource for the community. Let us know in the comments!

My gender has only become less binary as I've gotten closer to God

I wish I had the words that felt right to explain this. I don't feel as though I'm cis just not completely angered by my feminity. I'm even on a lower dose of T since my body hair and acne (2+ years on T) started to cause sensory issues recently. I'm actually looking forward to exploring and figuring out what is really meant for me. I still present masculine and use the same pronouns. I don't plan to change anything. I'm just more comfortable where I am and I believe God truly wanted me to learn these things about myself.

Help

First off, I am older, mid sixties. I have crossdressed for most of my life. Growing up I had know idea of what transgender was. There has always been a part of me that desired to be female. I have always wanted to be a part of the lady’s group of friends but was denied that growing up, as it wasn’t what a boy should do. I grew up in a conservative world and have instilled in me the mindset of conservative Christianity. Even today I’m in a church that holds in high regard that transgenderism is a lie from the enemy that has twisted God’s original plan. But even with all of this I can’t break free from how I feel in my soul. I know that my soul is begging for my body to come into alignment with it. I am married, I have kids and grandkids, they know me as a man, and have know idea i struggle with this. The older I get the more I want to be set free so I can experience the world as a woman. My dysphoria gets so difficult to handle sometimes, but I muddle through it. It helps that I do keep my body completely smooth and have a good skincare routine, but I know there is so much more to experience. First off I need to reconcile all of this with God. I pray that He would reveal to me the truth in the Scriptures in regard to being trans, that He would open a door for me to be exactly who I feel He created me to be. I desire to be His disciple, love Him with all my heart, I love all people, but I still feel empty in this area. My hope is to find the truth, not just information. Help me understand how those that have come to terms with God, how you did. I pray daily for His approval and have yet heard Him say, “it’s okay daughter”🙁

Is my mom being passive aggressive?

Post image

I’m studying abroad for a year and my mom wrote me this. My dad knows I’m transitioning (I didn’t tell him but he found out). I assume he told my mom.

My mom usually writes me letters like this whenever I go away, but “find peace and victory in Christ” and “the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God” feel a little bit like she doesn’t see me as a true Christian and feels like I need to win a battle against transgenderism or something.

Should I feel upset by this? Idk how to feel. I have not sent her nor do I plan to send her anything petty back

Being a Christian and queer is certainly an odd mix. (TW: religion, vent, very Slight blood.sorry)

Luckily, my mother isn't overly religious so the whole guilt I have for it isn't much but still relevant.

When I was young and feeling guilty about lying I would pray for horrible things to happen to me, this mostly happened after an argument with my mom so it was truly out of raw emotion,.Thinking I truly deserved it I would also disrespect the Lord's name hoping for potential punishment….I honestly don't really know what the fuck I was on, I knew I didn't want to do it but I still did, and I'm not sure why.

Sometimes I wonder if god really did make trans people; then what would have been the reason?

To suffer the pain of dysphoria?

To take part in creation like what most people say, or is it a chance to fight for their own happiness, to want to understand the feeling of being content with oneself. To be an outsider, an explorer, clawing at their own skin.

IDK, I made this at like 5 o'clock, and I'm tired as fuck

(Edit: I forgot to include the timelapse🥀 I hope it's not a big deal)

Trans Taoist, former Evangel/Charismatic walking into a warm home

Hey yall, hows the love of the Christ shining in your heart today? I bet its brighter than you think.

I may not believe in a most high, triune God anymore, but its Jesus's compassion and faith of his people that urges me to reach understanding and love with all. So when I find this subreddit, after ive cooled my ills from a previous faith, I find myself in need to hug all yall and thank you for standing up for what love really is.

I used to be angry and ironically, I said as hurtful things to good-faith Christians in my non-belief, as I did to the LGBTQ I said in my faith. And im sorry. Hate is Hurt and if im ever going to meet another where they exist, I have to let that stuff go, ya know?

Ya, the Tao helped with that, and I found myself understanding experiencing the moment through the nature of the world I live in, but such contemplations are found in Christendom. As much as Alan Watts (Former Episcaleon Pastor turned Taoist/Buddhist Speaker explaining such things to a western audience, passed late 70's) spoke relieving the pressures and weight of the strict dogma certain denominations carry, he articulated so poetically how the words of the Christ were those that spoke to us all.

I find the tension, the thorn in my side if you will, is a hatred that must cool, must sublimate, must transform as Christ was glorified. I feel in this we may have much to discuss, whether if I roll a boulder up a mountain daily or you carry a cross daily.

May you walk in the Way...

Conversation with Jesus

I was getting up the other day and talking with Jesus as I was brushing my teeth and kinda just idly thinking and we were talking about my scars and that led into his scars and he said we’re twins, and I was like “oh what do you mean?” And he was like “well you have your scar on your left side, and I have mine on my right side!” And I was like “oh that’s cool we are twins! 😀”. And then he said “and even more than that you received yours at the arrival of your birth whereas I received mine on the arrival of my passing”

And y’all I…I was gagged bad after he said that, it was like when you wanna laugh but it’s also super serious, kinda like an interaction between siblings iykyk, and I just like had to keep my mouth closed or my jaw would have dropped and I would have lost it

He was tryna get me to smile a lot that morning and he was really good at making that happen

He’s so funny 😭😅

God is so sweet 🥺

Every morning he sings to me when he wakes me

He talks with me as I get up

He helps me choose the perfume I’ll wear for the day

He freely provides abundantly more than my daily bread on days that are a bit much

He’s always patient with me when I’m not around, he knows I can get carried away in my own life often and he pulls me close and tugs on my spirit when he wants to spend time

He spoils me so much as my Father, because he knows just how much my own earthly fathers have failed me, and failed to give me this father daughter relationship

And still it’s so easy to feel lost sometimes, I come to prayer with him feeling like I should have some wants or needs to bring to him but my heart always feels empty of the desires or needs I know he wants me to bring to him and I’m just at such a loss. How much have I given up on in my life for this to be the case?…

Christians severely underestimate dysphoria

I made a post the other day in a Christian sub speaking about having bad dysphoria and wanting to transition. Essentially everyone in the sub told me things like “you’re perfect how you are!” “Just focus on Jesus!” “Accept yourself!”

I don’t think most of them had bad intentions but it’s so frustrating because dysphoria does not work that way. It’s like telling a severely depressed person to just be happy. My dysphoria and being unable to transition is making me really depressed and miserable and it’s not something I can just “get over” by praying. No matter how many times I explain it it doesn’t go through to them. Some of them were also insistent that I don’t have dysphoria at all, and it’s just some sort of trauma, even though I stated I have no trauma whatsoever. so do these people just not believe dysphoria is real? They seem to think it’s on the same level as regular insecurity. Many people compared it to typical self esteem issues when it’s not comparable at all. I think it’s insensitive to try to compare the two. Like if the issue is Im just insecure and need to build confidence. I don’t think they will ever understand unless they experience it themselves.

Please pray for courage and hope

Hi everyone. I appreciate the kindness in the sub. So I’m posting here.

I am going through a process, lots of praying and reflection and talking to people I trust. About maybe transitioning.

I feel like either way, I’m gonna have a transformation. Either, god will empower the transition of my body so it aligns with the subconscious identity within it. Or he will transform my “psyche” so it aligns with my body.

The thing is that either way, whatever way it goes, I feel terrified. I feel despair in my heart too. Please pray for courage and hope. Thank you

Looking for more friends and to grow my relationship with Christ

Hi everyone my name is Rose and I am looking for more friends and connect with more people who are believers in Christ. I also don't have a denomination and I like watch to inclusive churches one through the united church of Christ and another is Lutheran and I also end my prayers "in the name of the father the son and Holy Spirit I pray Amen" and I wanted to know if it's ok to do all of those things, I don't have any outlets to talk about being LGBTQ with friends or family as well since they are believers to but not accepting of the LGBTQ Community, so I would love some more friends to connect with and also grow my relationship with Christ more.

my testimony

i'm a 21y/o trans woman. i've been somewhat spiritual/witchy for the past few years now, and i was raised in a conservative, catholic home (pretty agnostic, they didn't teach me). i dated a trans man for two years, and our relationship ended just a couple months ago. before our relationship ended i started going on more drives, more hikes and spending a lot more time in nature. on one of (or a few) of those drives/hikes, i've felt called by God that my transness has always been natural and that Jesus loves me just as i am and not some version of myself to appease to others, i've felt insecure abt not passing as a "real woman". all of which has encouraged me to start praying, reading my Bible and listening to Christian artists. since we broke up i got in an accident, i broke my neck and ankle, totaled my car, all while i've had to find a new roommate. so it's been rough, trying to hold out faith when my own faith is so new. there's plenty of both trans people and Christians that won't like me for my religion, and at this point, i want to jump in further but feel held back by "the rules" or whatever, i'm scared i'll feel too restricted and just stop believing someday. advice/thoughts? thanks :)
