Have a general question? Want to offer some commentary on markets? Maybe you would just like to throw out a neat fact that doesn't warrant a self post? Feel free to post here!

If your question is "I have $10,000, what do I do?" or other "advice for my personal situation" questions, you should include relevant information, such as the following:

  • How old are you? What country do you live in?
  • Are you employed/making income? How much?
  • What are your objectives with this money? (Buy a house? Retirement savings?)
  • What is your time horizon? Do you need this money next month? Next 20yrs?
  • What is your risk tolerance? (Do you mind risking it at blackjack or do you need to know its 100% safe?)
  • What are you current holdings? (Do you already have exposure to specific funds and sectors? Any other assets?)
  • Any big debts (include interest rate) or expenses?
  • And any other relevant financial information will be useful to give you a proper answer. .

Be aware that these answers are just opinions of Redditors and should be used as a starting point for your research. You should strongly consider seeing a registered investment adviser if you need professional support before making any financial decisions!

News $RDDT Considering Cutting Off $GOOGL Access to its Data

Post image
155 Upvotes

Reddit is considering cutting off $GOOGL's access to its content for AI use as their $60 million-a-year licensing deal nears expiration, the WSJ reports.

USA Today, Reuters, Politico and other publishers are also reevaluating Google’s crawler as AI summaries reduce referral traffic.

USA Today’s organic Google traffic reportedly fell nearly 50% over the past year, while Politico’s declined 23%.

The central issue is that publishers generally cannot block Google’s AI summaries without also losing visibility in traditional search.

No major cutoff has been announced, but more publishers are questioning whether the traffic Google sends back is worth the content it receives.

News $AMD just locked up 2 GIGAWATTS of AI demand from Anthropic. This is huge!

Just dropped: AMD and Anthropic (the company behind Claude) signed a deal for up to 2 gigawatts of AMD's new MI450 GPUs, deploying starting H1 2027. AMD is also putting up to $5B into Anthropic, tied to deployment milestones.

Why this matters:

  • Anthropic already uses AMD chips (MI355X), this is an EXPANSION, not a first date
  • AMD now has gigawatt-scale deals with OpenAI, Meta, AND Anthropic
  • Stock is moving on the news
  • This is real infrastructure, not vaporware, full rack-scale systems (Helios) with CPUs, networking, and software included

AMD is proving it can go head-to-head with Nvidia for the biggest AI labs on the planet. Worth watching how this develops into 2027.

Not financial advice, do your own research.

Fundamentals/DD Netflix's Growth Engine Is Stalling

Post image
208 Upvotes

Netflix has managed to layer on makeup over their revenue growth for the last few years.

Their password sharing crackdown in 2023 resulted in 41% cumulative net adds over the following 3 years. Paid subscription growth is already decelerating again.

The most recent revenue growth number was mostly a result of a price hike.

Will ad tiers and other verticals be enough to sustain revenue growth going forward?

Discussion SOXX down 16% from June highs but Monday printed +5.5%. Dip or dead cat?

Post image
17 Upvotes

Been watching semis get absolutely wrecked since late June. SOXX off 20% from peak, QQQ dropped around 8% over the same stretch. Then Monday happens and SOXX rips 5.5% in a single session.

My read: this is short covering, not conviction buying. US short positions are sitting at historical highs, and you get a squeeze like that when crowded shorts unwind fast. Still roughly 16% below June highs, so the recovery story isn't anywhere close to written.

That said, Taiwan export orders came in at +59.4% YoY against a +49.5% consensus. That's not noise. AI capex demand is still real, and 61% of fund managers in recent surveys don't expect any reduction this year.

I checked the chart flow on moomoo and the NVDA/AMD/MU complex looks like it wants to base here, but earnings this week will tell us if Monday's move had any legs or just trapped more longs.

Personally sitting on partial positions. Not adding until I see guidance numbers. Anyone else holding through earnings or trimming into this bounce?

Discussion Low volume pump today

Post image
107 Upvotes

Big pump today from the cohort of non-Mag7 tech stocks (memory, hardware, CPUs, quantum, etc).

These stocks have all pumped over the last 1y but dumped through the last month.

Today, they all pumped again for the first time in weeks. However, most of them outside of SNDK did so on extremely low relative volume.

Do you think this indicates a dead cat bounce, or the “bottom” for these stocks and the regular programming of going parabolic is set to resume?

DELL and HPE’s price movement today look particularly “squeezy” (guess their after hours moves are linked to SMCI +20% on earnings after hours). Cramer just tweeted about DELL likely to have outstanding earnings so took a massive short position on DLLL

News Boeing asks US to intervene over record EU loan to Airbus

Post image
534 Upvotes

Boeing has asked the U.S. government to press the European Union for transparency over a package of €3 billion ($3.43 billion) of loans to Airbus. Boeing cites concerns the loan might conflict with the 2021 subsidy truce.

Boeing asked the USTR to request a "full accounting of the terms of this loan" from the EU and to explain why it was compatible with the 2021 truce agreement, which called for an "open and transparent process".

The EIB said it finances thousands of companies every year and denied offering Airbus any unusual support.

News Bloomberg: Oklo Selected for $200M AI Nuclear Initiative

Thumbnail
bloomberg.com
56 Upvotes

Bloomberg reports that Oklo and X-Energy are joining a Trump administration initiative aimed at accelerating advanced nuclear reactor deployment to support the rapidly growing electricity demands of AI data centers.

The $200 million initiative also includes Microsoft and Nvidia, and is designed to speed the development of new power generation needed for AI infrastructure. An official announcement could come as soon as Wednesday during a U.S. Department of Energy AI energy summit.

As part of the program, several DOE national laboratories and institutions- including the University of Texas at Austin- are expected to share $60 million over three years to support research and development efforts.

The initiative reflects growing concern that the rapid buildout of AI data centers is straining the U.S. electric grid and contributing to higher electricity prices. Major technology companies, including Nvidia and OpenAI, have identified energy availability as one of the biggest constraints on scaling AI in the United States and maintaining competitiveness with China.

For Oklo, the news reinforces the company’s positioning as one of the advanced reactor developers expected to play a role in powering next-generation AI infrastructure. The administration’s continued focus on streamlining nuclear deployment and supporting domestic energy production could provide additional tailwinds for companies working to bring advanced reactors online.

Opinion Can Netflix keep growing? “How big can Netflix become beyond streaming?”

Post image

Revenue is on pace for roughly $51 billion in 2026. Operating margins remain among the highest in entertainment.

What Netflix could look like by 2040?

I’ve noticed several trends that seem plausible to me. Obviously, Netflix needs to focus on its business today, but these are just hypothetical scenarios based on the trends I’ve observed, indicating where I see the company heading.

A list of Netflix’s current projects.

By 2040, a larger Bull case might be close to 800 million paid memberships If we face more tailwinds with AI or another pandemic like COVID-19, we already have a significant number of households staying home more than ever, which is undoubtedly beneficial. I believe that SpaceX's potential and the global expansion of the internet will help everyone have access to entertainment, even in rural areas. Only time will tell what the future holds for Streaming and media companies i still believe Netflix has a bright future.

Discussion i was actually right about rates staying high, still lost money somehow lol

so for a while i had this feeling that all the government spending and inflation stuff was gonna keep long term rates high. like it just felt kinda different from usual, not just some temporary blip

was getting new tires around then too and the guy at the shop was joking about how everything’s still expensive, stuck with me for some reason

figured if things stayed messy, those long bonds would keep feeling heavy

put a little money on it. not a lot, just enough that it stings when it goes wrong. told myself if it dropped too much too fast i’d just get out, didn’t wanna be the guy holding on forever

i lost money on this ngl

last month it dipped. not even that much tbh, but enough to hit that “get out” point i set for myself, some inflation news came out that looked softer for like a sec

sold right there like an idiot. lost a chunk, not pizza money but enough to feel dumb standing at the gas station after

what’s weird is

i expected either it keeps dropping or it holds steady if i’m right. instead it dipped just enough to shake me out and then went right back up like nothing happened, big picture didn’t even change

huh

it’s like waiting for the car to warm up in winter. sometimes it feels ready and you pull out early and the engine still stutters on you

idk if the thing was ever actually gonna hold the whole time or if i just got unlucky with the timing. kinda both? not sure

anyone else get shaken out right before the thing actually went their way, or am i just bad at sitting still lol

Discussion I checked how a few insider buys actually played out. One's up 35%, the biggest one did nothing

A while back people were posting insider buys like they were automatic wins, so I went back and checked how a few of the bigger open-market buys actually did. It's a mixed bag, which is kind of the point.

The winner: Hims and Hers ($HIMS). A director, David Wells, bought 48,400 shares at about $24.24 on May 26, roughly $1.17M in the open market. It's around $33 now, so he's up about 35% in under two months and it has held, not a spike that gave it all back. HIMS is a volatile name so some of that is just HIMS being HIMS, but the buy nailed the entry.

Working so far: Commercial Metals ($CMC). The CEO bought about $504k at $61.30 on July 10. Already $66, up around 8% in a week with the steel tariff tailwind behind it.

Jury still out: On Holding ($ONON). Three execs, both co-CEOs included, each put in around $2.2M at about $37 in mid-May. Still sitting right around $37, so that cluster hasn't paid yet even though it was a much bigger show of conviction than the HIMS buy.

So no, insider buying isn't a cheat code. The On cluster was the strongest signal on paper and it's flat. But when a buy lines up with a real setup, like HIMS after its washout, it can front-run a good move. I mostly just track these to see which ones are worth a second look.

Anyone else follow insider buys, or do you find them too noisy to bother with?

Discussion RKLB sitting at extreme oversold levels. Does that actually mean anything here?

Post image
26 Upvotes

11 Bullish signals, 0 bearish on the daily, KDJ and RSI both screaming oversold. And yet the stock keeps drifting lower. Been watching this tape for a while and honestly the setup feels crowded to the downside but crowded doesn't mean it snaps back.

The problem is RKLB doesn't trade on its own fundamentals right now. It's basically a proxy for SpaceX sentiment and the commercial space sector as a whole. Until that narrative shifts, oversold readings might just mean "less bad," not "reversal."

Was eyeing the 64ish area as a potential stabilization zone. Pulled the chart on moomoo and the distance from the 151 highs is just brutal. Any recovery has so much overhead to chew through.

The Neutron program is the wildcard. Positive news there could be the catalyst that breaks the pattern, but tape isn't rewarding anything right now.

Anyone still holding from higher levels or did most of you cut it? Genuinely curious if support holds here or if this just grinds lower.

Discussion alpd

Post image
22 Upvotes

Applied Digital Corp. (NASDAQ: APLD) builds, owns, and operates purpose-built, high-density data centers designed specifically for Artificial Intelligence (Al) and High-Performance Computing (HPC).

Rather than developing software or Al models, Applied Digital acts as a specialized infrastructure landlord for the hardware that powers Al.

Build Al Factories

They construct mega-campuses outfitted with massive power capacity, low-latency fiber networking, and advanced liquid cooling needed to run thousands of power-hungry GPUs

Secure Utility Power

Because Al requires unprecedented amounts of electricity, Applied Digital secures access to massive power grid capacity (gigawatts) and converts that power into operational computing space.

Host Hyperscalers & Al Enterprises

They lease this physical data center space to major tech clients, Al firms, and cloud infrastructure providers (like CoreWeave) under long-term contracts

Currently the price was dropped from his ATH ($50.73) to $27.85. Only 2months the price dropped around 50% based on the lowest price last week.

Personally im very bullish on data center related business like ALPD, IREN, NBIS, eventhough most of the company is not profitable in short term, but im very optimistic in long term because for me data is like a alternative gold, every business want it to run their business more efficiently.

Is this a buying opportunity for the investor or its just a value trap. Share me your thoughts🤔

Credit to u/I_killed_the_kraken who originally posted it on wallstreetbets, but the mods removed it. (and Michael Burry who posted it on X).

Here is the link to a paywall free version: https://archive.is/mvaBz

Here is an example of such deal: https://www.spglobal.com/ratings/en/regulatory/article/-/view/type/HTML/id/3459943

TLDR:

Make your own datacenter company, borrow money with it, and say that it is not you, but a separate company.

Make a long term contract with the datacenter, but structure it in such a way that you don't have to report it on your statements.

HyperScaler wants to build a datacenter borrowing money from Private Credit.

HS and PC create a Special Purpose Vehicle (or a Joint Venture), with HS holding 20% of the shares and PC holding 80%.

Then, PC lends the money for the datacenter to the SPV, which uses it to start construction. Of course, PC is not dumb, and lends teh money to the SPV only on the condition that the HS locks itself into a long term contract with the SPV to use the datacenter: the contract is structured as a 5-year contract, with 4/5 automatic renewals, and the penalty for cancelling it is that the HS has to pay for the entire datacenter.

As HS owns only 20% of the SPV, as per GAAP it doesn't have to consolidate the balance sheet of the SPV on its own balance sheet. Also, since the contract is only 5 years, this is the only liability that will appear on the HS balance sheet, and the renewal become "hidden debt".

Discussion SOX just hit bear market territory. This earnings week is make or break for semis

Post image
30 Upvotes

Semiconductor index crossed 20% drawdown from the June peak this week. QQQ dropped 4.1%, SPY only 1.5%. The divergence is pretty telling.

Been watching this setup for a while. Hedge fund net equity exposure has been compressing hard, down from around 25% to roughly 15% since April. Institutional selling is getting close to exhausted. SK Hynix forward P/B is sitting near 2.4x, approaching that historical trough around 2x. Valuation floor is forming but it means nothing without a catalyst.

That catalyst is this week. GOOGL and TSLA both report Wednesday after close, INTC Thursday. Implied moves are not small either: GOOGL pricing in 6.17%, TSLA 6.74%, INTC 15.2%. AMD has their Advancing AI 2026 event running at the same time.

Pulled the sector flow data on moomoo and retail positioning looks stubbornly contrarian here. Which is fine until it isn't. One major miss and that contrarian bet flips into forced selling, fast.

The core question: does AI capex actually show up as earnings, or is it still just spend? The bull case needs GOOGL to answer that Wednesday.

I trimmed some SMH exposure last week, kinda regretting it now if these numbers come in hot. Anyone else holding through earnings or cutting exposure ahead of the prints?

Discussion GOOG, INTC, Nokia earnings this week, here's why I'm selling premium on all three

Post image
0 Upvotes

Three names I've been tracking into earnings this week: $GOOG, $INTC, and $NOK. All elevated IV, all setting up for a classic IV crush trade.

GOOG expected move is around 5.47%, IV at 40.87% with an IVP of 87%. Put/Call ratio sitting at 0.33, which is pretty bullish. I'm leaning bull put spread here, using the $330 Put Wall as my line in the sand.

INTC is the wild one. IV Rank at 100%, implied move near 13.90%. When IV is that stretched, the actual move almost never matches. Iron condor made sense to me here, collect on both sides and let the crush do the work.

NOK is the smaller play but honestly the setup is clean. IV at 89%, IVP 96%, Put Wall at $10. Checked the options chain on moomoo and the premium on the put side is really juicy. Selling a put credit spread with $10 as the floor.

All three setups come down to the same thesis: IV is overstating the actual move, and theta works in your favor post-earnings.

Am I being too aggressive running three of these into the same earnings window, or does the diversification across names actually reduce the risk here?

Discussion Kimi K3 has been API and web only since 16 July, with open weights committed by the 27th

Kimi K3 went live on 16 July as API and web access, with open weights committed by 27 July, which is a promise with a date on it, not a shipped artifact. Open weights are how a cheaper cost structure reaches anyone else's serving margins; API access alone is not.

The window is eleven days and six are left. No license has been announced. It is the only dated, falsifiable item an investor can key a position review to. A miss pushes the cost-structure story back into unverifiable wire copy; a meet makes serving margins checkable on Monday morning.

On Arena boards as of 21 July, K3 sits #1 on the blind-tested Frontend Code Arena at 1679 Elo with a 76% pairwise win rate, ahead of Fable 5's 1631 and GPT-5.6 Sol's 1618, while Text Arena has the same model at #9 at 1486. Artificial Analysis measures it at 57 on its Intelligence Index against Fable 5's 60 and GPT-5.6 Sol's 59. Best in the world at one task and ninth at another are different investment cases.

A vendor comparison is not an independent result. The instance this sub is trading: Moonshot's claimed figure on GDPval-AA v2 is 1687 while Artificial Analysis independently measures 1668. Robbyant, the embodied-AI company Ant Group backs, posted a robot foundation model called LingBot-VLA 2.0 whose comparison against Physical Intelligence's pi-0.5 comes from the releasing team rather than an outside evaluator. A market repricing on self-reported comparisons is repricing on something it has not checked.

What the tape did is the check. NVDA fell 2.2% on 17 July against 16.97% on 27 January 2025, a small fraction of the DeepSeek-day move. A reaction that much smaller says the claim half is already discounted and the market is waiting for the weights half.

Reported Chinese cost figures are unaudited, with the scope unclear, state support is undisclosed. Inference at scale is where compute actually binds.

If the deadline is met, do the capex names reprice on any announced license, or only once a third party ships on the weights?
