Acquire s q900H for my gaming bedroom for my ps5 pro and LG G5 tv. This has been an unbelievable jump in my gaming experience. I did both at the same time. I had a basic 3.1 samsung sound bar and subwoofer on a C5 tv before and the effects were just normal. But boy oh boy this Q900h blew my mind. I cannot believe what gaming could have felt like with the level of dolby atmos effects. I have also tested some movies and my reaction has been the same. In my living room I also have a G5 tv but with a bose ultra sound bar, 500c bass module and small bose surrounds. I have always found the atmos to be completely missing and I am now going to upgrade to a q990h with the rears for my living room. What I like about the bose: the low frequency room pressurization from bose is unmistakable but the sound bar cannot compete with the Q bar in my view. I am no audio phile but I do have a good ear for consumer grade electronics. My living room is open plan and opens into my living room and I live in an apartment building. has anyone made this switch. I have gone back and forth watching the same movie scenes for eg F1 the movie on both set ups. Granted my Q900h is in a bedroom with no rears here are my observations. Q900h I use adaptive sound ( hated space fit pro as it turned everything off) and made minor adjustments to channels and sub woofer is at +1. I could not believe the vocals, audio, fly bye, pit stops and heavy bass on the q900h for F1. Everything felt so resolved included the smallest effects. All of this is amplified with gaming on it. I dont feel I am making the wrong decision. The bose is warmer but the vocals dont resolve the way the Qbar does and also there is basically no side effects and the Qbar is far more aggressive in terms of the fast leg to right transtions. You can tell the bose uses more DSP vs hardware to create their acoustics. I do feel the full q990h will sound louder, better and create more immersion. I don think it will have the room pressurisation that does bose excels at but it also hits harder and the bass is tighter for big impacts on the q900 sub. Sometimes it makes me jump. The Q990h sounds more excited and uses pure brute and I feel the bose wants to be more restrained and refined with less excitement. Anyone moved away from this bose set up like mine to a Sammy? let me know

I currenty have an 8-ish year old samsung n950 soundbar and I think its time for an upgrade! My living room is quite big and extremely suboptimal (very refelctive sound, open room, cant place speakers behind me only besides me, ...) . This is why i was considering the sony quads with a sub, but maybe this is a bad idea...(are maybe indivdual speakers with a receiver a better idea???)

I have a budget of +-3000 euro's (a few hundred more is fine), and want somethign that would completly destroy my current soundbar. What would you guys recommend considering that i mainly watch movies and somethimes music.

btw if you think individual speakers are better, pls lmk exactly what to get cause i know nothing about this.

I purchased my first soundbar (Samsung 990H) to accompany my 83" LG C6H which is getting delivered tomorrow and will be mounted on the wall behind the photo.

I am thinking about getting the attachment for the soundbar that attaches to the TV wall mount so it swivels with the TV if needed. For the two rear speakers, I am unsure where i should place them. I will be getting a new couch soon that will wrap around the front of the railing, from the window to the end of the rail. I don't want to speakers to close to our ears (was looking at the speaker stands). Would mounting one in the corner on that back wall where the fan is above the stairs and the other on the side wall in front of the stairs by hallway be too far back? Would the wall extending out a bit by the lamp on the left hinder performance?

Any and all help greatly appreciated.

I’m moving to Florida from NY into a flat house that has a big open bright living room and I’m buying the TCL QM9K 85 inches and I want to fit a soundbar on my tv storage stand but the TV’s stand is right in the middle, covering where I would put a soundbar so a soundbar can’t happen. So I’m looking for TV speakers that’s as good as a soundbar (my budget is $1200-$1300). I was gonna go with the TCL Z100’s but I did my research and it isn’t good for big open concept rooms (you all know how big open concepts flat houses are in Florida). I’d put 2 speakers in front (left and right of tv) and an optional 2 in the back of my sectional (only if the front 2 speakers aren’t good enough then I’ll find a way to put 2 behind where we sit). I don’t want to wall mount the TV because it’s too much $$$ to do so plus I don’t have family members that are handy and can do it for me. I’m in the process of doing my research plus asking this question on here.

So I decided it's finally time to update my audio setup for my LG CX OLED to celebrate getting a new job. I was previously using an old wired visio sound bar(I forget the model but it was under $300 new). I did a bunch of research and consensus seemed to be the Samsung Q990D is where it's at for a sub $1k sound bar setup, with people saying the sub on the newer q990f is a bit lacking.

I found a brand new q990d listing from a reputable seller on eBay for $800 shipped, but what showed up was a Q990H!

There is a lot less info on the q990h, but from what I'm reading the sub is a bit better vs the f and maybe not as loud as the D but much tighter and more controlled? Originally I was gonna return it when I saw the h on the box but tbh this thing sounds great and I feel like I got an incredible deal for $800 haha..

Any advice on settings? It will be used for both home theater (lots of trueHD 7.1 Atmos) as well as a decent amount of couch gaming on a fairly high end PC.

I have a Samsung HW-Q935F soundbar, a PS5, and a Samsung QN900F TV.
My setup is:
PS5 → TV → soundbar via HDMI eARC
I had the well-known update issue with the soundbar, but Samsung replaced the Wi-Fi board and I blocked firmware updates afterwards.
However, I have an issue with Dolby Atmos over eARC.
I’m trying to play a 4K Blu-ray on my PS5 with a Dolby Atmos track.
My settings are:
PS5 Blu-ray player: Bitstream

PS5 audio output: AV Amplifier

Channels: 7.1

Audio format: Dolby Atmos

TV sound settings:
HDMI eARC: Enabled

Digital output audio format: Pass-through / Transfer

The problem: I get no sound at all. The soundbar only shows “eARC” on the display, but it never switches to Dolby Atmos.
If I disable eARC on the TV, Dolby Atmos works immediately on the soundbar.
Am I losing audio quality by using ARC instead of eARC?
Is there a specific setting I’m missing, or is this a known compatibility issue between the QN900F and HW-Q935F?

I'm looking for advice on a meaningful upgrade to my current home cinema setup.

I currently have a JBL Bar 1000 MK1 and, overall, I really like it. The biggest thing I love is the convenience: the detachable wireless rear speakers are genuinely easy to use and give me proper surround sound without running speaker cables around the room.

However, I have one major issue: I don't really feel the 3D/Atmos effect. The system sounds good and the bass is strong, but the height and spatial effects don't really give me that "sound is happening around and above me" feeling. I also use the system quite a lot for gaming, so convincing positional audio and immersion are important to me.

I'm looking to spend up to approximately €2,000, and my priorities are:

• A meaningful upgrade in surround/3D/Atmos immersion
• Excellent gaming performance
• A genuinely good subwoofer with strong bass impact
• Wireless/easy setup
• Separate rear speakers
• Preferably no complicated speaker wiring
• Ideally something that is a clear upgrade rather than just a different sound signature

The systems I am currently considering are:

1. Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 + 2× BRAVIA Theatre Rear 8 + BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8

This is currently the most interesting option to me. I'm particularly interested in the Sony's spatial processing/360 Spatial Sound Mapping and the dedicated Rear 8 speakers. It also seems attractive for gaming because of HDMI 2.1 features such as 4K/120, VRR and ALLM.

My main concern is whether the Sub 8 would actually be an upgrade in bass impact compared with the JBL's 10-inch subwoofer. I don't want to spend €2,000 and end up with better surround but weaker bass.

1. LG Sound Suite H7 + 2× M5 + W7

This seems very interesting because of Dolby Atmos FlexConnect and the more modular approach. The W7 also looks like a serious subwoofer, although I am not sure how it compares in real-world output to the JBL 1000 sub.

My concern is that it is a relatively new ecosystem and I have seen some comments about connectivity limitations for gaming, particularly the lack of HDMI passthrough.

1. Sonos Arc Ultra + 2× Era 100 + Sub 4

I know Sonos is probably the most polished ecosystem and the Sub 4 is highly regarded. However, I'm wondering whether the Era 100 surrounds would provide a sufficiently large upgrade in immersion compared with my JBL.

I have also considered Era 300 surrounds, but that setup seems to go significantly over my budget.

1. JBL Bar 1300 MK2

This is the obvious option if I want to keep the detachable battery-powered rear speaker concept, but I'm not sure whether it would be a sufficiently meaningful upgrade from the Bar 1000 MK1.

So, if you were in my position, what would you choose?

The main question is:

Which of these would give me the most noticeable improvement in actual 3D/surround immersion and gaming, while still giving me strong bass and keeping the setup relatively wireless and easy?

I'm especially interested in opinions from people who have actually compared these systems, rather than just looking at the number of channels or advertised Atmos features.

Also, if there is another system I have completely overlooked in the €2,000 range, I'm very open to suggestions.

Knowing the current issues with the firmware (Samsung )even though every websites raise the fact that Samsung is better in terms of pure quality and features.

Should I go with Samsung or the Sony? I own a 65 inch Sony X90L...

Ever since I got my Q990F, I’ve had constant subwoofer issues..

Currently listening to music and the sub link is solid blue (connected) but there’s no output.

Normally I start watching a movie and it works for a few mins and then I hear it drop and notice the blue light blinking.

I’ve tried repairing it, and it always repairs successfully but drops again.

Latest firmware.

Are there any "must use" settings on the Q990H?

I'm working on a "Premium Sound Bar" video right now and based on all of the overwhelmingly positive reviews here on Reddit I have the purchased the Q990H to include in the video.

I preface this by saying it is one of the least expensive soundbars in the video, but it just kind of sounds "fine". Spatial effects are okay, vocals are mostly clear, bass is there but doesn't shake the room, and treble sounds more like what you would expect from full range drivers rather than dedicated high quality tweeters.

I've played around with SpaceFit Sound Pro and I think I prefer it "on" and I think I prefer Sound Elevation "off" which seems to create more separation.

For reference some of the other bars in the video include:

Sonos Ultimate Immersive Set
Bose Lifestyle Ultra (+ sub and surrounds)
Sony Bravia Trio (+ sub and surrounds)
Ultimea X100 (single sub version)
Nakamichi Dragon
Hisense HT Saturn (not a bar, but the "winner" from my last surround sound video).

Am I expecting too much from the Q990H to be able to best the systems above?

Just bought an Oakcastle SB80 Xtra. My TV is pretty old. Don't really remember the model but it is a Samsung I bought 10 years ago more or less. Therefore, the soundbar is connected via AUX, and doesn't have optical or other connections. I tried to play with the settings a little . The highs and lows are set to 0, didn't touch the EQ. Surround is off. AVL is on. SPDIF is on PCM. I keep the TV volume around 60-70/100 and the soundbar's between 11-13/30. The subwoofer bass is set to 3. Still I can hear some hiss in some scenes. I don't understand whether it's the natural background sound of the movie or not. I tried both blu-ray and dvd on my Sony blu-ray player. With blu-ray 5.1 is slightly better. The hiss also occurs when I pause the film, it goes for a couple of seconds, stops and then it goes again. I did some research and could be the cables being very close to each other so I need a Ground Loop Noise isolator for the AUX cable.

Hey, has anyone switched over from a Sonos setup to the Klipsch Flexus set up? Or had experience with both? Looking for thoughts.

Should I enable this option when I manually adjust my soundbar settings, such as Center -2, Front -2, Side -2, Subwoofer +1, with Adaptive mode enabled and everything else set flat?

Or would it be better to leave all settings at their default values, set Surround to Adaptive, and enable SpaceFit Pro?

Another question: My mom vacuums the living room every weekend using a loud vacuum cleaner. Will that affect or confuse (“haywire”) the SpaceFit Pro calibration?

I am considering purchasing the Samsung B650F soundbar and would appreciate some feedback. Could anyone share their experience with its overall audio quality? Specifically, I am interested in knowing if the bass performance is adequate and if the maximum volume is sufficient for a standard living space. Thank you!

I have a brand new samsung Q990h soundbar and the thing is amazing. One annoying thing is during dialog the soundbar just cuts the audio for 1ms where it interrupts the dialog but not something continuous. I also dont know whats triggering it.

Hello all, found this guy at my local Walmart for 169.00$ new in box. I currently have an older Samsung 2.1 cheap sound bar from around 2021 era, no issues with it.

Would this be a worthwhile upgrade or pass and let someone else grab it? My only worry is this does not have a sub, but I’m bigger on sound / voice clarity over bass.

Hey everyone, my first sound system is arriving tomorrow and I’m super excited. I ended up getting the Q990F!! I just wanted some advice on how I should place my sound bar.

This is the type of TV stand that I have because I needed to slightly elevate the TV for the soundbar to fit. The LG stand made the TV super low. But now I’m running into the problem of whether I should just place the soundbar on top of the stand itself, or try to find some risers.

I saw these risers on Etsy but shipping would end up costing more than the risers themselves lol. I’d probably need something that raises the soundbar 1 inch. Thank you for your help in advance!

I bought this soundbar and subwoofer about a year and a half ago. It was working great and I really liked it. Over the last week it hasn’t been working and I thought it was a connection issue or something.

I unplugged everything, checked all of the inputs and outputs and the tv, and tried any resets. The soundbar will play like a muffled sound and beat but no words. I connected it with Bluetooth and my phone and tried to play music and same thing - muffled beat no words or clear sound.

It also used to say “power on” when it would turn on and now I can hear a power kind of sound but no words.

Is it broken??

I have an older soundbar from 2019, it’s works just fine but I’m wanting to get more out of it because I’m gonna get another one, but this one is going to be my little experiment. Has anybody tinkered with these subs yet (ie higher RMS, low impedance speaker, bigger sub, etc)? I’m a pretty big sound head and I’m not afraid to fry it, but I’m just wanting to see how far I can put the foundation of this sound bar. If anybody has or can acquire schematics or have some pointers, I wanna hear them!

(I already know the transceiver for the sub has to stay the same due to it being programmed from the factory)

hab mal eine Frage. Ich habe noch diese alte Soundanlage und diese hat 2 Cinch-Eingänge und einen Subwoofer, 2 Surround-Boxen, 2 Front-Boxen und eine Center-Box.

Das bedeutet, dass ich über Aux vom PC zu Cinche nur 2 Boxen und den Subwoofer ansteuern kann. Ich möchte aber auch gerne die anderen Boxen nutzen.

Man könnte die Boxen in Reihe schalten, aber dann halbiert sich der Widerstand und das ist mit diesen Anschlüssen auch nicht wirklich leicht zu lösen.

Gibt es noch eine andere Möglichkeit, diese Boxen vom PC aus anzusteuern? Irgendein Adapter oder sowas, oder eine Art zweiten Verstärker dahinter?

Very happy so far with the sound , voice very clear . can't hear so much from rear speakers?

Subwoofer is alright, didn't impress me alot. Feels it's not punchy and tight enough for music.
