My favorite understated daily tool watch.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to check with the community if anyone has heard reliable news about whether the 3CF factory is shutting down or experiencing a temporary closure.

I've been trying to secure a piece, and while one dealer tells me it's coming soon in small batches, PureTime explicitly told me that the watch is out of stock because the factory is shut down.

Has anyone else received similar information from their TDs, or know what is actually going on with 3CF right now?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Recently I have been on a look out for my first VC rep. With all focus on Rolex and Omegas etc, I feel like the info related to VC rep could be a little outdated. I have gone through the reptime wiki and included links there to check which factory makes the best rep for VC. MKF and MXFwere supposed to be the first choice for the models that I am interested in but I can not follow the trail of these factories/TDs. So far, what i can see is that 8F is the factory that is still producing rep of the VCs (of my interest) or that it is relatively easier to source from this factory via TD but I have not seen any mention of 8F in the forums about them being good. If any one here has experience with 8F VCs then I will appreciate your feedback. Here is what I am after:

- Overseas 7900V 41 mm SS/SS Blue Dial

- Overseas Perpetual Calendar 4300V SS/SS White/Stk

The other day I took it to a local independent watch store / watch repair store to have a link taken out and asked the guy at the store if he could tell it was fake.

He said 'yes - very easily' based on:

• Sharper edges on the bracelet
• Bezel was too reflective (I have noticed this too it seems very very reflective - looks almost metallic in light, but I haven't seen enough gens to understand if this is unusual)
• Indices color a bit off

He explained he handled so many watches per day that it was easy for him to spot (I live in Hong Kong which is a huge watch city).

I asked if he considered it a good fake and he said it was "not high end" and guessed it would've cost about 2000 RMB (approx half the price paid - maybe that was a 'wholesale' price excluding TD cut?)

I was a bit surprised by this given the watch's 'NWBIG' status that is commonly mentioned in this community. I'm wondering whether:

1. This is just the opinion of a true expert who has seen 100s and 1000s of gens and frankens, etc. and has an ability to discern better than 99.9% of the population
2. I was a bit naive in believing that (for this model) 'without a microscope / inspection of the movement' no one can tell gen vs rep
3. I need to worry about whether the watch is truly a VSF (I think it is fine though)

I see VS have rolled out their latest iteration of the Datejust 41, up $48, up 1.5mm in thickness, down a visible regulator. I know a lot of people don't care about the movement in a closed case watch, I'm in the school that prefers accuracy regardless, however I'm not a fan of increased thickness.

Either way, hiding the regulator still leaves a tell without microstella screws and at 13mm thick it makes a big difference on the wrist, particularly in a watch like the Datejust.

What are your thoughts, upgrade or downgrade?

I’ve read all the guides a few times through, I am a first time buyer and it seems like the VSF is the most recent/best place to get a black titanium Yachty. Does anyone have a recent experience from a TD that you’d recommend? Also, is VSF the top dog for this watch ATM? Rolex Yacht-Master Titanium 42mm Black Dial (226627)? 

i’ve never got a super clone don’t mind to spend the 700-800 to get one that’s as close to the real one but I don’t know what site to trust VSF but no idea what correct site I looked at the spreadsheet, but I’m confused

In the process of buying a skydweller from zf and I’ve been reading that the bezel turns too easily? Is this an easy give away that it’s a rep? Is this something that I should actually be worried about or is it a nitpicking thing?

Just received the Pelagos 39 today from Mirotime.
I also recently saw a post that someone got sent an empty box and their package weighted 0.3kg. Mine was 0.2kg, guess it shows how light titanium is.

Not much to complain so far. However I notice the bracelet has a little play at end links and lugs, prob needs to swap out spring bars as I’ve seen post floating around about this.

How is everyone enjoying their Pelagos?

I've been lurking for quite a while, and happily now stand at 12 watches.

I'll be honest though, IWC has always been number 1 on my desireability. I have always wanted an Ingenieur since I started looking at watches.

I am mad I now can't source a really great Ingy since V7F is gone and APSF cant get me a chrono.

Can someone reassure me, will the MZF ingy be good to go? I want a do it all work daily that isnt a damn crown logo lol.

This is my first look into buying a replica and I have no idea how to go about it. Would like to understand the process and how to find reputable supplier to the UK. Can anyone give me some advice? I'm cosidering getting a good quality clone Rolex Datejust.

Jubilee feels a little more refined, while Oyster keeps it sportier and more understated. Which one would you daily?

For example, if I order a Rolex VSF with DanDong movement, how do I know if I will get that particular watch instead of a much cheaper watch with inferior build?

Does anyone know if the stock fluted bezel for the 36 ARF datejust is good enough on its own or needs to be replaced? Also is it coated with anything or just ss? The shine on it now looks really good but more concerned about long term appearance.

I ordered a THB Royal Oak Skeleton v2 from Andiot 2 months ago now, I have only gotten vague replies/responses regarding my order but reading around on the sub it seems that is pretty common with Andiot.

I saw a few posts from a while ago mentioning THB got raided/potentially shut down. Can anyone verify this. Should I change my order or hold on. I don’t mind waiting more, but I don’t want to wait for nothing.

Most of the QCs I’ve looked at and information I’ve gotten from a couple TDs say the black Bay 41 monochrome only comes with the Jubilee style five link bracelet from ZF.

Does anyone know of a factory that makes an oyster bracelet? Or somewhere I can sourse a good Tudor oyster by itself.
