Player On This Day in Sports History: July 22, 2012, Barry Larkin is inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame

On July 22, 2012, Reds legend Barry Larkin was officially inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame during the annual induction ceremony in Cooperstown, New York.

Larkin’s Hall of Fame career included:
• 12× All-Star
• 1995 NL MVP
• First shortstop in MLB history with a 30 HR / 30 SB season

He also remains one of just nine players in MLB history with at least 2,300 career hits, 350 stolen bases, 150 home runs, and a career OPS+ of 115 or better.
