Monthly Confirmation July 2026 Confirmation Thread

Submit your confirmations below!

How Does This Process Work?

Note: Confirmations may take a few minutes as the bot processes the confirmation.

After exchanging emails or letters, confirm that the user sent them by tagging their name, and then in the format of #-#, where the first number is email count and the second the letter count, post the number of emails and letters you received.

Example:

  1. u/digitalmayhap received 2 emails and 1 snail mail letter from u/thisisverytricky

  2. u/digitalmayhap posts a comment in the confirmation thread saying u/thisisverytricky 2-1

  3. u/PenPalConfirmationBo replies to u/digitalmayhaps's comment indicating that their counts have been updated on their flair!

FAQ

  1. The bot didn't respond to my comment. What's wrong?

Did you follow the correct pattern? Follow the pattern above!

Give it a few minutes! Sometimes the Reddit APIs can get a little overworked and start having issues. If the issue persists for more than a few hours, please message the moderators. The bot might be experiencing issues!

  1. I have multiple letters/emails I exchanged with multiple people to confirm this month; should I post them separately or in a single post?

Feel free to post them in a single comment or as multiple comments! If you post them all in a single comment, make sure to put each redditor on a separate line and to follow the proper format of u/REDDIT #-#.

  1. I forgot to confirm an exchange last month! Can I confirm the exchange this month?

Yes!

Reddit Messaging [40/F] living in the US looking for friends

Upvotes

Hi I’m 40 years old and looking for a pen pal to share conversations, stories, and everyday life. I enjoy talking about hobbies, travel, books, movies, funny moments, and different perspectives I like learning about people, their experiences, and the small things that make life interesting I believe the best conversations are often about simple everyday moments

I’d love to meet kind people around my age or older who enjoy friendly and meaningful conversations. If you like sharing stories, exchanging ideas, and getting to know someone new, feel free to say hello and tell me a little about yourself

Email & Snail Mail [34/M] Old Habits

How's it going everyone? Hoping that this post finds you all well. My name is Yarden, but my friends call me Moth. I'm reaching out and looking for potential people to write to. I used to have a penpal back in school from Osaka, and thoroughly enjoyed giving as well as receiving letters from them. Unfortunately time and growing up distanced us to the point I never heard from them again. Which brings me to the present! After a time of adulting and deep thought, I decided why not try again. This is my first post, so forgive me if it's not the standard context most would expect. (Plus I'm hella nervous haha) Anyways, if you'd be potentially interested in a mutual exchange of lives on paper, feel free to comment here or send me a dm and we can discuss things. With technology these days, I'm cool with emails too if you prefer! Let me know!

Reddit Messaging [23/M] Trans man seeking thoughtful penpal

Hi, I am a 23-year-old Persian trans man living on the east coast of the USA. I’ve posted on here a few times before, but I’ve since rewritten my post. My apologies to anyone who has seen me pop up repeatedly.

Lately, I’ve just been missing genuine conversation and getting to know somebody. Working in customer service, for me, at least, means lots of brief interactions, and I miss taking the time to really get to know someone. I’d love to hear about where you grew up, what you like (or don’t) about where you live, and the people in your life. I do not mind small talk- I think it’s part of getting to know someone, and I enjoy that gradual buildup.

When I’m not working (this is rarer than I’d like), I enjoy (junk) journaling, writing in general, listening to and playing music (bass and keyboard, poorly), and spending time with my friends and family, even if just virtually. I like light crafting, like collaging and making small projects out of air dry clay. I like photography, baking (here and there), and foraging in the fall. I love animals, all art, and (a wide variety of metal, indie, and pop) music. I’d also really like to start solo traveling more, and I’d really like to hear about any travel stories you have.

At this time, I am only interested in penpals older than me, primarily about in their 30s, as I value the perspective and life experience that comes with a slightly older age (well, sometimes…). Please note I have a dry sense of humor and am autistic. I’d especially love to connect with other autistic people- or at least anyone who understands the challenges (and the joys) that come with it.

I am only looking to talk to those left-leaning and LGBTQ+ friendly. Also, hopefully this goes without saying, but please do not use AI in our conversations, or preferably in general… ha-ha. I’d be excited to swap art, stickers, or other ephemera. Playlists, recipes, or anything else that we put thought into would make me happy.

Send me a message if you think we’d get along.

Snail Mail [39/F] Female Looking for Global Friends

Hey everyone! I’m 39, I work remotely, and somewhere along the way I realized my days started blending together with screens, emails, and telling myself “just one more thing” before I log off. 😅 I’d really love to shake that up a bit, meet some genuine people, and build friendships that actually feel real and less social media robotic.

A little about me: I’m working on getting healthier and finding my way back into fitness. I’m trying to stay consistent, make better choices, and give myself grace, instead of chasing perfection. I love going for walks, especially in the evening and I can just breathe, listen to music or a podcast, and unwind. I’m also a big reader and almost always have a book nearby. I love hearing what other people are reading too.

My faith is important to me too, I love Jesus and try to live that out with kindness and grace, not judgment.

If you’re around my age and also looking for someone to talk with about life, books, goals, health, or just everyday happenings, I’d love to connect. It would be nice to encourage each other, vent, share stories, and make life feel a little less like the same routine on repeat. And if you’ve got a favorite walking spot or a great book recommendation, I’m all ears. 📚

Snail Mail [24/F] 𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟Looking for Interesting Penpals°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

Been a psych nurse for 3y now. I love to learn about people and talk to people. I am into anything weird, morbid, and odd. But I also like stuff like cooking, reading, Hello Kitty, Kuromi, bats, spiders, coffins, and gibbons. I like to form connections. I can read and write cursive. I am looking for people to tell me about their crazy life, thoughts about the world. I want to have a discussion about anything! I own over 50 vinyl records as I love listening to music. I am not religious but open to discussion! I have also been learning how to draw again since I stopped drawing. I would probably send some of my drawings in the mail.

I live with my partner who I do a lot of things with like hiking, shooting guns (not at anything alive), and cooking. We also watch movies together and have a long list of movies we have watched and rated. We recently bought our first home together and have been tending to the house.

General information: Favorite colors: black, pink, purple, red

Things I like in my letters: real life gossip (just makes the letters more interesting), experiences not everyone is familiar with, long letters

Snail Mail [21/F] Looking for other women my age to write too

Upvotes

Hiya!

My name's Sophia! :D

A few things I wanna make clear first. At this point and time, I am only going to be exchanging letters with other females and only within the united states as well.

Would love to send over doodles of characters you request through letters and maybe exchange polaroid photos of our pets to each other, along with other cute stuff :3

A few things about me
-I love to draw, especially my own characters. I hope one day to start a webcomic and show them off properly. (Once i come up with a good premise lol)
-I am a HUGE collector of plushies, figurines, action figures, and tons of other memorabilia from my favorite Tv shows, movies, games, etc.
-I am always eager to bake a fresh batch of chocolate cookies, they are absolutely delicious!
-I enjoy putting jigsaw puzzles together, while also hoping my cats don't swoop in and mess it all up haha.
-Speaking of cats, I have six! And I have three dogs as well.

Anyways, that's all for now. If any of this interests you, please send me a message so we can exchange addresses so we can start swapping letters right away! (Don't just say "Hi" tell me about yourself! I would appreciate it, thank you.)

Hope to hear from you, goodbye!

Snail Mail [28/M] Canadian animator and DND dungeon master looking for real snail mail

Hey everyone! My name is Ian. I am 28, married, and living in Canada. I have never had a pen pal before, but I always enjoy sending out postcards during the holiday season, and I think diving into actual letter writing would be a really fun new experience. I am mostly just hoping to meet some new people and cross paths with interesting folks.

For work, I work from home making cartoons for a living. I actually just got a Kickstarter funded for my very own pilot episode, so that is what I am up to day in and day out, working on my little sci-fi cartoon.

Aside from animation, I am a lover of most things retro and classic:

  • Film Photography: I have slowly built up a nice collection of cameras. I shoot a lot of 35mm, but I also dabble in 120 and 640.
  • Retro Gaming: I collect and play NES, Atari, and N64 games. I also take my DMG-01 Game Boy with me on any long trip (I have finished Pokémon Red four times at this point).
  • Music & Vinyl: My music taste consists largely of 1950s-60s rock, doo-wop, big band, and classic 1950s country (think Hank Snow, not modern country). I really enjoy collecting 45s and spinning them on my record player.
  • Reading & Comics: I collected a lot of 1960s and 70s comic books for a long time, mostly Spider-Man, but these days I am trying to read more books. I just finished reading Treasure Island and Project Hail Mary, great movies, even better books!
  • Movies & TV: Going to the movies is my favorite date night activity with my wife. While I work, I usually have television on in the background, like MASH, I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show, 60's Trek, Next Gen, and Classic Who.
  • Tabletop & 3D Printing: I am a Dungeon Master running an Old-School Essentials (OSE) campaign for my friends. I use my FDM 3D printer to print minis for D&D and proxies for my Warhammer army (Ultramarines).

How to connect:

If I sound like the kind of person you would like to reach out to, send me a brief DM. Please keep the initial DM short! I really want us to get to know each other through actual letters rather than chatting over the computer. Ask for my mailing address in your message, I will send it right over, and I will eagerly await your first letter!

Email & Snail Mail [25/F] Hoping For Deeper, More Thoughtful (Or Weirder) Conversations!

Upvotes

Hello!! I'm Hyacinth, an editor living in the Western US.

I love having hobbies, and I try to keep up with: writing fiction/poetry, reading, gardening, listening to music (including CDs, vinyl, and live concerts), letter-writing, guitar (acoustic), baking, embroidery, crafting, thrifting, journaling, and more. The things that interest me most tend to be slightly spooky, like circuses, lighthouses, and graveyards, but I also love frogs, picnics, lavender, and leaning into sustainable/slow living.

You know those conversations you sometimes have with people late at night, over campfires or under tall trees or on a porch in the dark, that make you access a new way of thinking about yourself and the world because you're so invested? The ones that don't happen that often unless you lean in hard and start them. I'm looking for people who want to write long emails or letters full of those thoughts and observations. I love my friends, my partner, and my daily life, but there's a level of deep engagement that you can't sustain at work or in the grocery store or over text. I know it's hard to find people to click with on this intense level, but the internet is a big place, and I'm looking for you!

If you use AI to write or edit your messages, are a bigot, or just want friends to casually chat with (nothing wrong with that one, I just have enough already), I won't be a good pen pal for you.

If you want to have rambling conversations about all the things that take root in your brain and make you feel alive (Moral relativism? The writing of Sayaka Murata? Neolithic art? The art of clowning? Interests so niche I've never heard of them?), and receive long effortful replies, please DM me! I'll write the first long message if you need someone to start the conversation, I'll move to email or snail mail once we know each other, and I will not ghost. I've been writing back and forth with my current snail mail penpal for almost six years :)

If you sustained attention through this long post, I think we could connect this way. Let me know if you think so too—send me a DM introducing yourself, or jump right in and tell me all about a line of thought you've been struggling with lately.

Warmly,

Your Potential Pen Pal

Email [53/M] Spain curious, looking to embrace new connections through words

Upvotes

My social battery is low, but as a married professional parent, my available time is variable. The intersection between charged battery and availability marks the intensity of any interaction. Nevertheless, I gues I am not an uninteresting individual, I'm a loyal friend, more or less intelligent, with a dark sense of humour, open minded, left leaning, prone to self doubt, above average in everything except... well, mostly above average in all good things... occasionally.

Ok, I've tried several times with several approaches. This is today's take on what I offer. What do I want? A friend. Consistency over constant need for attention (silence is not ghosting, though I am aware that virtual silence needs a "Still here" gesture to keep the line alive. I'll do that. And I will not ask for more here. I only ask you to be open minded, honest, fun and patient. Or someone I still don't know I want to meet

I also collect lots of supplies from junk journal events I go to, so I have plenty of stickers, washi tape, and scrapbook paper to share! If that’s something you would like to receive. I don’t mind keeping it simple to just letters and no extras :)

Snail Mail [28/F] looking for penpals as I start a new life chapter

Hello! I am about to start my PhD this fall in Georgia (USA) and am hoping to have a penpal. My grandma and I exchanged snail mail (despite me growing up 20 minutes from her house) throughout my entire life. Every address I’ve lived at, from my hometown to undergrad, and multiple moves to new states, has had at least one letter from her. It’s been hard to think about starting school and realizing this will be my first address without a letter from her.

I won’t be moving until the end of June, but I am more than happy to begin writing from my current address and then continuing from my new address afterwards.

My PhD will be in ecology. I run half marathons (albeit not too seriously). I like quilting, cross-stitch, and needlepoint. I have two dogs, a tortoise, and a gecko. I like reading and am always looking for book suggestions.

Thank you for your time.

Reddit Messaging [30/M] - Looking for penpal and new people in life

Hey all, so I'm a 30 year old Indian Bengali guy hailing from Kolkata and I work in the broadcasting media field. Although, I do have a few friends in my life, still I would love to meet and get to know new people. I'm going through an extremely tough time/phase in my life, so meeting a new person or making a new friend would be nice to have. I won't be trauma dumping, so don't worry at all.

I'm open to connecting with new people and I would love to discuss cultures, cultural differences, politics and life in general. I'm someone who loves topics like History, Geography, Sports as in Football ⚽, Cricket, Tennis. And also, I have taken to collecting die cast cars and perfumes lately as a hobby. Although, collecting perfumes is something that I'm enjoying the most.

Feel free to connect regardless of your gender, time-zone etc as I love talking to everyone. Please be kind.

Email & Snail Mail [32/F] Give me an excuse to buy cute stationary!

I’ve answered a few posts on here but thought I would make my own! I’m in the southern US, have decent handwriting and am super passionate about this so unless something terrible happens or my letter gets lost, expect a reply! I truly love connecting with people but I find the pressure to respond instantly can be overwhelming. Letters and emails just feel more manageable! We can catch up once a week or once a month, I’m not picky.

I would love to write and talk about books, movies, games, the annoying coworker, really anything! I think it would be fun to agree on a book or movie and watch/read it, then “review” it. Tell me about an amazing meal or coffee you had recently. I’d love to get updates on pets (I have 2 dogs and a cat) or projects you’re doing. I’m open to checking out any new music you want to send my way. I enjoy spooky things, conspiracy theories or cryptids. If you’ve heard any crazy true crime stories lately I’d love to hear them. I’m super open!

I REALLY love writing letters and have a P.O. Box but am open to email as well!

Snail Mail [18/M] Want to make friends and learn what locals do

Live in Brisbane Australia, I’m often outdoors and enjoy many of the little things of life.

I have only a little experience in snail mail, with only one contact at the moment however I’m eager to learn and make new friends. I genuinely just wanna talk about really anything. I may not share the same opinions however I find it interesting to hear the lives of other people and enjoy listening to the wisdom of those older. I enjoy travel which is why I’ve been interested in meeting people from around the world, and some of my other hobbies such as reading (Mainly the Classics) sketching, little bit of writing, design and hopefully very soon terrarium building.

Not really sure how this works but leave a comment or send me a DM however that works to get in touch and hopefully start an exchange of letters.

Email [41/M] To anyone who wants a nerd(ish) big brother to talk about life and anything in between :)

I'm Pablo, from Chile, 41. While I consider myself a pretty open person, and in the eyes of many, extroverted, I find it quite difficult to feel like I'm making real friends, real connections, and companions along the way.

  • I like books, mainly science fiction and fantasy, but also some romance or historical novels, philosophical or mystery novels, a bit of detective fiction and horror. I'm trying to be a writer myself too ( I have some authors who have been my inspiration to write, such as Tolkien, Stephen King, Murakami, and perhaps others who are more local to my country)
  • I don't have children; I consider myself childfree. Mainly out of conviction. I have an excellent relationship with my parents, I love them and would do anything for them... but being a father has never appealed to me, nor has I ever felt the need to be one. Do I like children? Of course! As long as I can give them back afterward.
  • I like anime and manga. I grew up with classics like Slayers, Ranma 1/2, Escaflowne, Evangelion, DNA2, Record of Lodos War, Samurai Pizza Cats, and other series. Currently, I read more manga than watch anime, but every now and then I get hooked on a "modern classic." (By the way, I also enjoy reading comics, both from major publishers and independent ones where you can find real gems)
  • I like movies, quite a lot. I don't mind the genre. Romance? Horror? Fantasy? Science fiction? Animation? Yes, please. In fact, I write for an online site, so I'm sometimes up-to-date with films before their release because of special press screenings. (And no, despite the rumors, not all critics get paid to write good or bad reviews of a film xD)
  • And well... at this point it might be a little obvious with everything you've read about me, but I also like video games, role-playing games, and board games. For years during my teens I wrote fanfiction on Fanfiction.net, and I've even been a cosplayer.

¿What i do in life?
I'm a professional photographer for about 16 years now. It's my full-time job. I specialize mainly in portraits, corporate photography, couples, children, cosplay, events, concerts, music bands, weddings, etc.. mostly people

¿So, what can I offer as a friend/online adventure buddy?
Mainly, a listening ear. Having trouble? Tell me about it. Want to talk about the event you attended today? Hey, I'd love to hear about it and ask you questions!
Perhaps you need life advice and a big brother/sister? I may not be a blood brother, but I am someone who, through life experiences, can offer support, advice, a kind ear, and even virtual hugs if you suddenly feel lonely.

For now i preffer the DM, then emails and maybe in the future we can write snail mail

Snail Mail & Postcard [23/F] First Time Pen-Paling. Looking for a genuine

My title got cut off: it was supposed to say genuine connection

My name is Hamnah and I’m an American Pakistani from New York and completely new to pen-paling but I have any idea on how it works given that I’ve collected so many envelopes, stationery, crafts, and etc over the years. Honesty, I’ve always wanted to have pen pals but I always got busy with school. I’m currently finishing my last year of pharmacy school which is a 6 year program. I feel like I’ve missed out on so much in life so at this point I’m ready to start new things and focus on my hobbies so here that’s why I am here now.

I will be traveling abroad to Italy this year to complete my pharmacy rotations but otherwise I will be committed to at least one pen pal to start off but I’d love any advice as well. I’d rather stick to consistently if I mean even one friend. Of course, I am open to more but I do want to be honest about my current limited based due to pharmacy school.

Hobbies: anime, kdramas (Asian dramas), kpop, history, video games(PS5), Netflix, traveling, MMA, politics, culture, food, studying, and more!

Handwriting: it’s pretty average lol but it can be worse. I’m not perfect and I’m not looking for perfection either. Just an honest interaction. I love learning something new so my hobbies are not a representation of my choice of potential friends. In fact, I’d love to meet people with completely different interests! Thank you!

Email & Snail Mail [27/F] Canada - Did I hear your brain sizzle?

Hello from Canada! If you clicked on this post I guess the weird title successfully grabbed your attention.

I am fortunate enough to have found my pen pal of 7 years on this sub. My letter-writing has suffered the past year as a result of moving abroad and focusing on other hobbies. Recently, I realized how much I missed having random stimulating conversations with strangers. Even though most of them didn't last, I still had a great time corresponding.

I love plunging into life's bigger questions, random ruminations and deeper feelings - or conversations that promote self-growth and self-actualization. For starters, lately I've been thinking a lot about interpersonal relationships (friendships in particular) and what it means to form a connection and establish emotional intimacy. The book I am reading (Fem by Magda Carneci) happens to have a paragraph in the prologue that relates to this topic.

I would love to hear whatever you have on your mind, the books that you are reading, the goals you are trying to achieve, things you are learning or passionate about. Aside from reading, I do ballet and crochet. Huge into thrifting/fashion too!

I've been told I am rather serious and "emo" on letters but bubbly in person, so let's see which facet of me you get to unlock haha.

The point of pen-palling, imo, is to revive the art of slow communication, so sorry, I am not for you if you look for daily or even weekly correspondence (I mean, it might be the case at the beginning, but the intervals down the road would be longer). I also tend to write longer emails/letters. (I am committed to my current pen pal for dissertation-length letters though, so nothing longer than that!)

I do have a preference for snail mail, as I have a deeper appreciation of physical letters and penmanship (even if you claim your handwriting is ugly). I also don't mind being the only one sending letters and you sending me emails; I'm flexible. Bonus points if you are outside of North America. Please be 24+.

Hope to hear from some of you! :)

Snail Mail [23/M] living slower and seeing the beauty of life

You'll have to excuse this slightly wordy post but I'm struggling to convey the feeling succinctly.

After a pretty rough year things are looking up, everything feels brighter, like the golden light that comes with a dawn.

I'm feeling good again and I want to start making more connections and add a bit of slow paced levity to my life.

I've always loved getting to know people, it always feels special the way they unravel. I've not had as much of a chance recently to enjoy it as much. Having that connection with another person, learning about them, listening to their dreams and fears feels like such a privilege.

I've always tried to see the beauty in things, I've taken life slowly and enjoyed the little things along the way. Recently, though, I've had a whole new appreciation for how beautiful life can be, even minute things which are easily missed.

If anybody would like to share their time and get to know each other, it would be great.

I've realised there's little about me here but a very quick overview would be, I'm a politics and philosophy student from London. I enjoy, reading, writing and films, particularly older ones. I love music and I'm teaching myself to sew, I also enjoy photography and writing horror.

If you'd like to get to know eachother drop me a message!

Best,

P

Email [29/F] Looking for penpals

Hi! I'm looking for a penpal to have casual conversations with and hopefully make a new friend.

A little about me: I live in UK. I enjoy cooking, reading, listening to music, watching shows and movies, and going down random internet rabbit holes. I love learning new things and can spend way too much time looking up random facts or topics just because I got curious. I also enjoy talking about everyday life, food, hobbies, and the little things that happen during the day.

I'm a bit more on the introverted side but I enjoy good conversations once I get comfortable. I'm looking for someone who also enjoys simple, friendly chats.

No pressure, just normal conversations and getting to know each other over time.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to message me 😊

Email & Snail Mail [24/NB] ISO chaotic creative penpals

I realized I'm not very pinterest bullet journal-core but I still love colors and creativity, so let's make it silly.

Options:

1) Digital penpals but it has to be visually fun!! Give me a messy over animated Google slides presentation about your favorite hobby, explain your sociàl circle through an MS paint family tree, find clipart to illustrate your day.

Only rule is no AI! Bring back bad graphic design and run on sentences :) I <3 comic sans and word art. If it looks like a poorly designed print menu from the 2000s I will treasure it.

And once in awhile I suppose we can do emails/text posts to check in.

2) Physical penpals! Junk journaling but to each other.. messy collages, ripped out doodles from the margins of your notebook, part of a story you wrote, a vent about your day on a post it, a paper bracelet from an event you went to with a story about the event. I want to be surprised every time I open the envelope. As long as it's not glitter 🙏🏽

3) hybrid situation. Maybe we physically mail each other something flat-stanley style that we have to take pictures of in different situations. Or just switch up whenever we feel between digital and physical media.

If you're more aesthetically inclined that's cool too! I can be once in a while but I won't try to force it, trying to connect with people that think like I do!

Message me if this intrigues you :) we can talk intros, hobbies, logistics in the DMs but this post is for the initial vibes.

Email [31/M] Looking for a friend to share news about my life about and hear about theirs

Hi, I'm Jack. I'm from Ireland and no I'm not from Dublin but I work there. I used to have penpals when I was a teenager and actually got to meet them several times.

Now I'm 31, and not sure what to do. I love travelling, I love going to concerts and festivals and going to the cinema.

With regards to music, if I was stranded on an island with an mp3 player with unlimited battery and could only pick 5 artists I would probably pick blink 182, NOFX, Pulp, Wolf Alice, and St Vincent.

Movies, I absolutely love movies. Last year I gave myself a challenge to watch more movies than shows. I use letterboxd and love it. I love tracking things like that. Even though I love movies I do watch shows, recently finished Succession and finally getting around to finishing Regular Show.

Anyway. I would like to disclaim I am interested in talking to people who don't mind talking about the good and bad that's going on in life. Things have been tough lately but also good.

Also Taurus Sun, Virgo Rising, and Sagittarius Moon xo

Hi! I'm looking for pen pals from anywhere in the world!

I'm 28 years old and I live in Italy. I love getting to know new people, learning about different cultures, and exchanging letters or messages.

Some of my interests are:

Minecraft and cozy gaming

Arts and crafts (crochet, embroidery, drawing, journaling)

Reading and stationery

Nature, forests, and whimsical/cottagecore aesthetics

Rock and metal music

Board games and nerdy hobbies

Psychology and neurodiversity

Animals

I'm autistic and have ADHD, so I sometimes take a little longer to reply, but I genuinely enjoy meaningful conversations. I'd love to hear about your hobbies, your daily life, and your country.

If you think we'd get along, feel free to send me a message!

And we can also exchange stationery and various goodies !
