I haven't bothered to check out thrift stores for a while, as gone are the days of finding good deals on psp's or really anything worthwhile retro gaming. But decided to pop into one while running an errand for work. No chance I thought I'd have luck like this!!

Hey, I just took some photos of my recently installed ips display and one of my own custom themes.

I purchased my first PSP back in 2008. I had it for years and loved it. Life happened, I stopped playing it and sold it for peanuts in a yard sale.

Found the same one I had (Silver PSP 2000) at the Southeast Game Exchange and had to have it.

This thing is TINY compared to my current handheld ( Legion Go). It's amazing how much gaming and technology has changed in 18 years and yet the PSP is still FREAKING AWESOME.

There are such amazing games on the PSP and the music deserves to be heard! When I’m playing at home I’m always using headphones with it like these Audio Technica studio headphones. You can really hear the music score, plus the built in music player for the PSP is something to take advantage of too.

Bonus points if you know the game!

While on my trip I went to a retro game store and decided to buy a PSP 2000 it is moded which idk much about moded consoles but pretty happy with my purchase.

I recently gave my PSP 2000 a new look and installed ARK-4 custom firmware. I’m really happy with how it turned out, but now I’m not sure what to do next.

What do you think of the new design?

Do you have any recommendations for must-have homebrew apps, plugins, emulators, themes, or useful tools?

I’m still pretty new to PSP modding, so beginner tips are welcome too.

Told my roommate how much I loved my vita and he doesn’t use his psp as much since he got a vita as well. So he gave me his psp! Super awesome but he’s had this for a long time as you tell by the picture. Just wondering if it’s easy for a replacement for screen and shell. Or just let it ride?

Hi everyone. I’ve been trying to solve this problem for a long time—it’s all shown in the video. If I press or slightly shake the PSP at a specific spot on the motherboard (this happens even when it's inside the casing, so it’s not my fingers causing it), the screen cuts out completely. It only comes back on after I power the device off or put it into sleep mode and wake it up again. I saw a similar thread on Reddit where someone suggested wedging a piece of paper in there to press against the board and prevent it from flexing; I tried that and it worked, but I want to get this PSP into proper working condition without relying on a workaround like that.

I’m willing to do anything except buy a new motherboard; I’d rather repair it, as that would simply work out cheaper for me. It would be great if you could point out the exact spot where I need to do something to fix the issue. I also used a multimeter to check the power capacitor and others, following a guide; they are all perfectly fine—even when shaken—so I’m not sure what the problem is.

Psp 3008, 3g(how system say), I bought it second-hand with this problem already present; it had never been opened, and the seal was intact and undamaged.

Hi there, I own two PSP’s they are the PSP 1001 and the PSP 3001. I was talking about them to a friend of mine and we came up on the topic of giving him one. I would like to own the better PSP and give him the other. Also for the PSP 3001 it needs a battery cover so if anyone knows of any that actually work and cover the battery please tell me, color black if that makes any difference.
