Discussion The whole "aesthetic outdoors" trend is exhausting

1.4k Upvotes

kinda just over everyone treating nature like a content studio. Tried to do a popular gorge hike last weekend and literally had to wait in line behind three different people filming tiktok dances on a bridge

My brain just couldn't handle the noise anymore. Ended up bailing on the whole itinerary and just pitched my hammock at a Camphappygrounds site up in the pines for two days straight, doing absolutely nothing

no crazy epic views, no peak bagging. just dirt and trees and quiet. I feel like social media makes us think we have to conquer a mountain every weekend but honestly sometimes just sitting outside and breathing is enough

Haven't seen any videos that actually discussed why it is always called the “deadliest mountain in Colorado" all the time
