Discussion switch 2 has crazy VR potential
ever since i saw the switch one joycons being used individually, i always thought about how reminiscent they are of vr controllers
with the switch 2s increased power and resolution, i really think it’s time for vr capabilities to actually be utilised on a full scale, not some labo stuff, an actual vr accessory with full on support by nintendo
yall ever thought they should do this now too?

Media If you are playing Splatoon for the first time, please give gyro a proper go.
Since a lot of people will be trying Splatoon for the first with Raiders, some might be thrown off by the tutorial having gyro aiming. While you can turn off right after, gyro it's the proper way to play Splatoon because how fast-paced the gameplay is, while stick controls are really slow since it doesn't have aim assist.
One of the most common mistakes from people trying motion controls for the first time, it's making exaggerated movements with your arms but you just need to do small movements with your wrist. Sticks are for camera movement and gyro for aiming. Also, play around with motion sensitivity and see what works best for you.
Of course, you don't have to play if you don't want to but Raiders will be a very chaotic and can be very difficult, especially for newcomers. So try to give gyro a chance, it will help you in the long-run, since it's the most effective control scheme.
EDIT: Since some people don't seem to understand the point of this post, I'm not telling anyone to force themselves to play in a control scheme they don't enjoy. I'm simply stating that Splatoon gameplay was built around gyro aiming, it's not a gimmick like in Zelda. You don't like it? Cool, but if you have an open mind, give it a go because it will improve your playthrough.

Discussion When will the next AAA nintendo games come out?
Despite the large lineup of exclusives for the Switch 2, people say "there are no games" because most of the heavy hitters have yet to appear on the platform.
That being the case, I'm really curious when they will likely appear?
Already announced are Xenoblade Genesis, Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, Zelda Remake of OoT, and Pokemon gen 10
These are all huge titles for sure...but even still they aren't the real big guns.
I would consider Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Zelda, Super Smash Bros to be the biggest franchises, and of them, Mario Kart World has been released. So when will the others appear?
Other major IP are Metroid, Splatoon, Kirby, Yoshi, and StarFox. They've all appeared. As well as DK which I would consider a AAA game (as well as Metroid Prime 4, but that was a tortured tale from development to reception).
But I guess...when will the next AAA platinum Nintendo games release?
I personally think it's awesome that so many of the slightly lesser IPs have had the spotlight for so long and have powered the fastest selling console ever. They've gotten the attention they deserve and have done well rather than being a side show under the shadow of the biggest franchises
But it means anticipation is just building and building for when the big guns actually do appear. So the question is...when?
3D mario would make sense soon since the movie happened. But the zelda movie is happening too and is likely the reason for the OoT remake. Could a new zelda come so soon as 2027 or 2028? Would a Mario game in that window steal zelda's thunder? Not to mention 2D variations, or RPGs of Mario.
Is a smash bros coming at all?
Personally, I think a new Zelda or Mario is coming next year. Possibly both.
What do you all think??
EDIT: for everyone saying "Tomorrow", i mention splatoon specifically in the post. It's a big game, but a $49.99 spin-off isn't the same as a Splatoon 4 imo

NEWS PSA: switch 2 owners who get the physical switch 1 version of MIO: Memories in Orbit are able to access the switch 2 version (for free)!
I’ve seen it said otherwise several different places on Reddit, so I wanted to clear this up once and for all.
The physical switch 1 copy of MIO ships with version 1.1.0.0 — which runs the switch 1 version of the game. However, when you update the game to 1.2.0.0, you gain ALL of the switch 2 enhancements. I just got the switch 1 physical version today and confirmed this myself; load times are noticeably faster and the framerate is doubled from 30 to 60fps. I also spoke with the publisher via email (Focus Entertainment), and they confirmed this to be the case as well.
I figure this is helpful information not just for the obvious reasons, but also because the switch 2 physical version of the game is going for $90+ on eBay, even though there’s little reason for that to be the case. If you want the game, just buy the switch 1 physical version, it’s still available at multiple retailers in the US. Spending $100 on the switch 2 physical version is downright silly.
TLDR: If you have a switch 2 and buy the physical switch 1 version of Memories in Orbit, just download the newest update (1.2.0.0) and you will have all of the switch 2 enhancements when you play the game. I have confirmed this personally and also with the game’s publisher.

This is my first Xenoblade and it's a knockout!

NEWS Miyamoto on how Nintendo chooses which games to release, confirms Star Fox and Yoshi games happened because of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
r/NintendoSwitch2 • u/reevestussi • 44m ago
Discussion Miyamoto defends the idea that there are too many remakes, explains why Nintendo releases them as "young people today don’t have the opportunity to play games from 10 years ago"
I personally don't mind remakes since they bring a fresh coat of paint to existing classics and if done properly can be used as a springboard for new games in lesser known franchises.
Metroid followed a similar pattern where Samus Returns was remade followed by Dread and then Prime 4
Zelda had a remake of Link's Awakening followed by Echoes of Wisdom
Famicom Detective Club had both Japan only games remade for a global audience along with Emio being announced shortly afterwards
