Hello fellow night shifters! 🌙. Looking for people to chat with every night while we’re at work! I get bored a lot at work-most of my job is me sitting at my desk not doing anything 85% of the time so nights at work do get lonely and I only work with 1 person and we don’t talk. I’m F30 and looking for PLATONIC FRIENDSHIPS ONLY!! I’m single and NOT looking! so PLEASE respect that and DO NOT HIT ON ME!! Reddit is NOT a dating app! Literally just asking for online night shift friends to msg to when we’re at work. HMU if you’re interested in being friends with me and to chat with me on night shifts! 🤗

Need a strong genuine reason to request a shift change in college (Evening → Morning)

Hi everyone,

I'm a first-year college student and I want to apply for a shift change from the evening shift to the morning shift.

The college asks for a valid reason, but I am preparing for Ca and my college won't change my shift because of that only.... and don't have any medical issues, family emergencies because those aren't true in my case.

Can anyone suggest genuine and convincing reasons that colleges are more likely to accept? I'm looking for reasons that are realistic and commonly approved.

If you've successfully changed your shift before, what reason did you give, and was your request accepted?

Thanks in advance!

I've been doing overnights for so long I don't do anything normal anymore, it's definitely an adjustment for sure. Anybody else have that same issue??

3rd shift loneliness

38/m recently divored, wife left in December. Also recently switched to 3rd shift back in March. How does everyone deal with the debilitating loneliness? Im alone in a dark room all night, then go home to an empty house. Could also use some tips on how to meet people on this schedule. Having someone to talk to throughout the night would really help

The energy comes from a good shower when I got home

I’m about two hours into my eight hour nightshift. Going strong!! 💪 How about you?

Edit : I forgot to tag this post as discussion but if anyone’s up to talk about literally anything (especially sharing your experience in your job and in nightshift) don’t hesitate !

Discussion I think I'm making every rookie night shift mistake possible

I'm new to nights, and every day feels like a science experiment. One shift I drink coffee too late and can't sleep when I get home. The next shift I skip it and spend an hour staring at my monitor wondering if blinking counts as exercise.

I'm curious what you wish someone had told you during your first few weeks on nights. I have a feeling I'm learning everything the hard way.

Help Does anyone struggle with getting home and being so tired that you waste hours?

I work 10pm-6am.

I wake up at around 6pm, chill out / do chores till 8pm, then get ready and set off for work at 9:15pm and get home at 6:30am.

The issue with my routine is that I get home and sit in my car till 7-8am. I'm autistic and really struggle with the work > home mindset, I can't just park up and go inside to sleep.

I'm usually sleeping at around 9-10am and waking at around 6pm, if I could get in and be asleep for 7am, I could wake up as early as 3pm giving me twice the time to chill, maybe even time for some games before work. That would genuinely change my life, I'd be alot less stressed.

How do I park up and go straight inside? I don't know how to describe the feeling but it's like my weight doubles and energy halves, it's almost impossible to move until I feel ready.

Just bored out of my mind, so would really appreciate it if you would just talk to me about anything. Yeah I am even ready to hear about your nastiest thought just Dm Bro.

Just don't start with treating me like a girl, I am a dude 🙂👍.
