Hi! I will be visiting Newport for two weeks in Aug. I would love some suggestions on food, activities, and any hidden gems. I will have my 10 and 11 year olds with me. I am also disabled but can get around decently. We love being outside, nature, animals, art, and of course food! Thank you in advance.

Wife has multiple sensitivities and immune triggers, we don't want to risk ruining our anniversary weekend. Thank you for your help!

When did this change? Does anyone know why? I have only ever been when I had a dinner reservation and the lobby is always super full so it seems like this would make it much worse.

Hello, I'll be moving to Newport fairly soon and wanted any recommendations for a tattoo artist to finish shading and coloring on a current tattoo I have, and also for new tattoos down the road. The style is probably closest to asian/japanese. Any recs would be great as there are several shops in Lincoln city and newport with decent reviews.

Hi there!
We are camping outside of Newport this week -- wondering if anyone has a recommendation on a family-friendly venue to watch the USMNT world cup match this Wednesday (7/1).

I moved to newport from California back in 92'ish and lived there for 2 years then moved to Portland. Back then I went to Sam Case Elementary; I swear it used to be Sam Case Sharks not bears - I cannot find any reference to a mascot change - Am I gaslighting myself?

We love to beach walk but we’re both OF’s with balance issues. Is it possible to walk from Agate beach to Nye beach at low tide without having to cross over rocky areas. I know we’ll have to cross Little Creek but have been told that it’s reasonable. Appreciate any help. Heading to Newport soon and can’t wait

Anyone know of a bib transfer forum or Facebook group. I see they are sold out on the website.

My GF is running the marathon and I want to cheer her on at multiple points throughout the course. I read on the website that a bus travels on Toledo during the race, but want to confirm I can cheer at say mile 6, then hop on the bus and it takes you to mile 8 or 9, etc.? Thanks!

Hello!
I’m really interested in moving to Oregon. I’ve visited Portland and Newport and absolutely fell in love with both. I’m an experienced animal keeper of several years, and I’m wondering if there’s anyone I can talk to about working at the Oregon Coast Aquarium! I have some questions and I’m looking for advice on finding work in OR as a professional animal keeper.
Thank you!

Been here several months and haven’t been able to cook every day. Here are some of our favorite places to dine in:
Seafood: Ocean Bleu - particularly good fish steaks, with or without breading (breading is also excellent). Update: amazing fish tacos!
Mexican: Mazatlan - great horchata and particularly good tamales. Free salsa and bean dip.
Italian: Sorella in Nye - house made pastas and amazing pizza
Thai: Thai Elephant - fresh ingredients and flavorful sauces
Burger: Burger 101 - in N out style with smashed patties and simple ingredients
Beer: Bier One - good selection of drinks and sandwiches, seems popular with locals
What have we missed that you really enjoy?

My gf moved up here a couple months ago (I'm in TX and we're doing long distance), and she's having some trouble meeting people her age. She works in the evenings and on the weekends, and most of her coworkers are older than her and male (not that she can't be friends with men, she just wants to find women her age to hang out with). So my question is: where can she go to find some friends her age? She's in her mid/late twenties and her hobbies include: hiking, yoga, volleyball, arts and crafts, baking, and kayaking. If there's some kind of event or class I could buy tickets to, I think it'd be a really nice surprise for her. Thanks!

Just want to let everyone know that Grocery Outlet has the coolest giant bubble wands. They are $2.99 and have Dino’s/unicorns on the handle. The wand expands into a triangle and the bubbles are so satisfying and fun for little kids. Heck, it’s fun for me and I’m 31

There’s an injured sea lion at the docks tonight. Looks like he’s got line wrapped around his neck. Anyone know of anything that can be done for him?
r/NewportOR • u/farrellbby • Apr 08 '26
Looking for a place to take my husband for his birthday. He loves a good steak or fish and chips. Something with an ocean view would be nice, but not necessary.

I'm so glad this dumbass dropped his cigarettes in sea lion shit water after climbing down and continuously disrupting and scaring all of them 🫶🏻
Get over yourself
