DISCUSSION Just curious on your thoughts….
I’m just curious… what challenger do you think that’s overrated and should retire and why? Also, what challenger do you wish they would bring back?
For me, I think Aneesa should retire. I love the girl, but you can tell she is checked out of the game. Of course she’s a monster in eliminations, but it’s difficult to watch her perform in challenges and finals. She always seems to get hurt somehow. I feel like if she focused on her health a bit more, she would get a lot further and can possibly win a final but she kinda let herself go over the years. Idk, that’s just my opinion.
As far as picking someone to bring back, I feel like they should bring back Shane. I forgot how good of a competitor he was in past seasons and would like to see him compete again in future challenges. I also like Nam too, he was a beast and wouldn’t mind seeing him again.
What are your thoughts? 🙂

DISCUSSION The reason the challenge doesn’t feel the same and is declining ratings
Besides the obvious that people aren’t watching as much tv anymore. I think the ending of real world really hindered the challenge, back then most viewers of the challenge were real world/road rules watchers so even if when we got new cast mates we were familiar with them from other shows. I feel like now they have too many people from a billion different shows and networks that their audiences don’t necessarily transfer to mtv. Second we’re missing the aspect of “normal” people being on the challenge. Back then we always had a good mixture of super athletic people, underdogs, students, 9 to 5 workers etc. Nowadays it seems like everyone in there is an influencer of some sort and the audience is really missing that disconnect. A big appeal of the old challenge was seeing normal people doing crazy things. Anyways sorry for the rant thanks for listening.

REWATCH DISCUSSION This young Tommy Wiseau is hands down the worst challenger I have ever seem in my 25+ years of watching The Challenge
Shady. Cringe. Attention seeking. Unfunny. Sneaky.
Something about him lacks authenticity. His "charisma" comes across so forces as opposed to genuinely good TV. I remember in Total Madness I didn't think much about him and he at least had the look of an interesting challenger physically. Now I am glad he was the first person sent home.
Season 39 is where he shines as much as a mediocre competitor. He is desperate to be a reality star, and does the trope of trying to pull sympathy (I am a father, I am a husband, I am relatable) but then he pulls a lot of shade and plays the game in a deceitful way, pretending and giving his word to people to save face and then talking absolute shit behind their backs in confessionals. He tells people what they want to hear.
The kicker is he is terrible at math and puzzles. He will never be a champ unless production gives him a win or makes things easier for him somehow.
Please don't invite him, or do. Make him feud with Josh so I can hate watch these two doofuses have the worst and funniest verbal fight since Jenna and her cousin.

SHITPOST Something I Picked up on Rewatching Dirty 30
Doing a rewatch of Dirty 30 and something that I noticed this time around, that I didn't notice on my first watch was that it's a dirty game. They may have mentioned it during my first watch but it was really subtle, like blink and you miss it. Did anyone else notice that it was a dirty game?
