Husband wants me to get rid of my mini

So I purchased my mini Cooper brand new in December 2023. I’m basically using it to get to and from work. We moved a year and a half ago and my commute changed significantly to about 50 miles daily. It currently has a little less than 32,000 miles. I’ve had multiple issues of different warnings/alert/lights turning on. They’ve been able to fix it because the car is still under warranty. The issue is, that a car this new should not be having this many problems. As a result, my husband now wants me to get rid of the car. I’m not super excited about that idea because I still owe money on it for the next three years.

Is anybody else finding their car to be this problematic?

i’m glad that mini has a car that shares its weaknesses with most modern cars.

the contrast makes me appreciate my little vintage modern f56 lci2 that much more. sci-fi 80s sports car vibe

Finally had some time to shoot some photos after I wrapped my Clubman. Didn’t take automotive photos for ages, but quite enjoyed it to the extent I got some CPL filters for my lenses

Ditched the runflats -- what to carry for flat/puncture emergencies?

Post image

FINALLY made the switch! Got Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus tires and I'm astounded by how I can barely hear any road noise, and the NVH of the car is much lower than before. The bumps are much more supple, quiet, and the car feels more refined. I did get an alignment at the same time. Can't believe how grippy they are. I went from 2017 Conti runflats to these, so it was a big leap forward in ride quality tire evolution.

For those of us S drivers who've made the switch but don't have the room for a spare--due to the center exhaust and I also have a sub woofer in the false floor of the boot--do you guys carry emergency provisions for flats and punctures?

I am thinking a pump, plug kit, maybe a can of fix-a-flat for last ditch effort before I call roadside. I'd prefer not to carry a donut because I don't think I have a jack anyway. I realize that none of those would work for a blowout or sidewall damage.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Anyone else having Apple CarPlay issues?

I lease a 2025 Countryman, and my wife a 2026. We are both experiencing connectivity issues with Apple CarPlay wherein our iPhones 15 will connect to CarPlay and then randomly disconnect. Sometimes the phones will reconnect, and some times they won't. My issues have been going on for over a year now, and hers since she got the car about 2-3 months ago.

After the most recent OS update from Mini, my phone connected and worked flawlessly for about a week. Then it disconnected, and will not connect.

I have tried everything I can think of: deleting the device from the car and reconnecting, deleting the car from my phone's bluetooth and wifi and CarPlay, no luck. I spend some time on the phone with Mini customer service yesterday and today to no avail. In fact, today they said there is nothing else they can do from a troubleshooting standpoint - but maybe I should contact Apple.

I will try them tomorrow, but I believe this is a Mini/BMW problem, not Apple, as both of our phones connected to our previous cars (2022 Clubman and 2023 Countryman) without any problems. It was only when we got the new cars - which have the OLED screens and, presumably, different operating systems that the problems started. Additional notes: my wife's phone worked in her 2023 Countryman while mine did not work in my 2025 Countryman. Both of our phones and cars are fully up to date.

Any thoughts?

Better yet... any solutions? TIA!

EDIT: did the power-button-reset-thingy today and it seems to work!

For now.

Thanks!!

JCW Rallye 964 fitment on 2016 F56?

Hi all, i'm looking to make some big cosmetic updates to my mini. I've had it for over 10 years, needs a lot of love.. But anyway I just found that Mini started producing these sweet rally style wheels. Wanted to see if y'all know if they would fit on the F56?

Pic for attention (current plan for the car)

opinion on engine noise

I hit a curb at high speed, which caused the oil pan to be completely damaged, along with other components such as the radiator system., the oil pan was torn open after the impact. The engine may have only run for a few seconds while losing oil onto the ground. My concern is that components such as the crankshaft bearings (main/rod bearings) or even the valve lifters could have been affected by the lack of lubrication.

I’m a bit worried that the noise could be related to internal engine damage, such as rod bearings or valve lifters, so I would really appreciate your opinion.

Vorrei semplicemente chiedervi un parere: il rumore del motore nel video vi sembra normale o notate qualcosa di insolito? Grazie a tutti coloro che si prenderanno il tempo di ascoltare e condividere la loro opinione.

3 O2 Sensor Replacements in 2 years?

Like the title says, I’ve had to replace the pre-cat O2 sensor in my ‘10 Clubby three times in the 21 months I’ve owned it. I’ve also had to replace the catalytic connector twice (jury is still out on if a third is necessary).
My question is why does this keep happening? I really can’t keep throwing a couple grand at the same issue every 9 months…so this latest CEL might be the kiss of death for her.
For a little more context: I drive fewer than 100 miles a week, I purchase only 90 octane from tier one stations, and I check (and change) the oil often.
Any ideas?

Any Youtube or social media channels that do in-depth modding or mechanic content?

Hey everyone, I've had my F55 for almost two years now but I just joined the sub today. Anyways, I'm curious if y'all know of any good, detailed and in-depth channels that do content similar to Jason's Supra on Youtube. If you're unfamiliar, his videos go step-by-step with clear descriptions and shots of everything he's fixing/modifying on his cars - everything from engine swaps to simpler stuff like intakes and headunit swaps. Do any channels like this exist for any Minis? Specifically 3rd gen, but it could honestly be any of the modern gens and I'd enjoy it.

NCS Expert coding not going through after hours of trying. Please help

So basically I’m trying to code my car (R52 S) through NCS Expert and it just doesn’t work.

What I do is:

- Read my car

- Use Revtor’s NCS Expert Profile

- CODIERDATEN_LESEN on BC1

Put that TRC file into NCS Dummy

Activate/deactivate all I want (for example passenger window going up with a single click)

- Export to .MAN

- SG_CODIEREN

- Execute job and get no errors

- Then nothing changed.

When I read the file again which I just wrote (with all the edits) the edits are still the way I wanted them, if that makes sense.

So the TRC file still has everything aktiv / nicht_aktiv but for some reason my passenger window still won’t go up automatically.

I been at it for hours now with no luck. Please comment or DM if you can help me out.

Sideview mirrors won't adjust back to the correct position for my driver profile.

I have a 2024 Mini Cooper SE with two keys, one for me and one for my wife. They have different keychains and we keep them in different spots, so we don't swap them and confuse our driver profiles. When my wife uses the car, the mirrors automatically adjust to where she had them when she used the car last if I happened to use the car previously. If I use the car after her, I can see the mirrors automatically adjusting, but they don't go back to where I had them. When I check, my profile is indicated on the screen. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
