Vehicle Photo Using my 98 Celsior as a daily

Man what can I even say about this beauty. Was driving my ‘89 Camry but the transmission gave out. Luckily I have these two girls on standby. Dusted her off and I’ve been driving her as a daily to work. Long commutes but driving is so therapeutic to me, I enjoy it.

Obviously the milage is horrible. I typically get 23 mpg going 68mph, but it is what it is. Thinking about selling the Crown for a hybrid or a Prius, but I know I’ll regret it and I love my Crown way more than my Celsior too 😜.

Anyways, shout out to Lexus for making such an incredible car. She has 80,000 miles on it. Hopefully I can someday join the 400k club. 🥹

Discussion 2026 Lexus TX 350 - busted AC Compressor within days from leaving the dealer

Upvotes

We bought a 2026 Lexus TX Premium AWD new. Within the first 9 days of ownership, the AC goes totally kaput.

Take it in to service at dealership we purchased from and Lexus’ position is that a rock/debris must have snuck through the front end as they say damage to the condenser is the root of issue.

We are upset. Not a speck of damage on front end of the TX.

So much for Lexus brand reliability and customer service.

Posting here in case anyone has seen this before. Looking for advice on some kind of aftermarket screen to install to prevent this again. Lowkey considering selling it back to Lexus.

:(

Question Changed key fob battery red light blinks when pushing buttons but doesn’t work

Upvotes

I have a 2019 Lexus NX 300h. One of my key fobs is not working. I changed the battery. The red light blinks whenever I push any of the buttons but nothing actually works on the car. Can’t unlock, lock, open trunk, or use panic button. It was working fine before. This is the one my bf uses so doesn’t get used as often as mine (which works fine) but still was getting used regularly. What could be going on?

Question Lexus ES 250 AWD thoughts?

Upvotes

Hi all - wondering everyone’s thoughts on the Lexus ES 250 AWD. I will be living in Boston and am considering getting a 2023 with 30k miles for around $37k. I saw a few posts on car guys subs saying the ES 250 isn’t a real Lexus. That the Camry is better and everyone looks down on this car. I’m so confused what that means. Like is the Camry more comfortable or what? Should I use my money on a Camry instead? This will be my first car. Thanks!

I’m very new to this DIY stuff so I need some help lol. I replaced my 2013 GS350's headlight bulbs with LEDs from Auxito. The first night they worked perfectly fine but the day after the light was dim and the headlight leveling alert popped on the dash and it's been like that since.. Any insight on how I can fix this?

Can't click into the listing for details because it's presold, but how is it even possible to get this vehicle to $60k? Are they slapping on a huge market adjustment fee? (Willis Lexus in Des Moines, Iowa).

Vehicle Photo Data collection from Lexus Drive Connect. How is this acceptable?

I assume most owners don't realize the level of data collection:

https://www.lexus.com/privacyvts/data-types

From 2021 to the present the Lexus infotainment functions around the Drive Connect cloud. It uses a cellular modem built into the car. The only way to stop the egregious level of data collection is to turn off the connection. The consequence of doing that is a dumbed down car. It only permits a guest profile. That means nearly all settings revert to defaults when you turn the car off.

Lexus claims not to sell your data to 3rd parties. What if you sign an insurance form and miss the fine print giving them consent to collect the data? What if you are in an accident and that data gets subpoenaed? Lexus has an extensive profile on every driver using Drive Connect.

Question L/Certified 2025 ES300h UL 3400 miles-$59600 otd

It was only used as a fleet/corporate vehicle by the same Lexus dealership that is now selling it.

They’re asking for more than its original MSRP. What do you guys think? Over MSRP is wild regardless of demand

Question NX350h - Window Tint Issue - Top Edge of Door Panel was NOT Reattached Properly

I had my 2024 Lexus NX350h windows tinted last Friday at Ceramic Pro.

After picking up the car, I noticed wind noise from the driver's side. At first I thought I was imagining it, but once I got on the highway I realized the top of the driver's door trim near the rear of the window was lifted outward about 45 degrees. There was a clear gap between the trim and glass.

I immediately called the shop and returned. The shop owner and manager were not there when I got back bc it was after 4:30pm. The technician apologized and spent about 20 minutes trying to push/tuck the trim back into place. It improved significantly, but one corner did not seem to fully "snap" back into place. Those were his words, not mine! He said worst case they may need to detach the entire door panel and reseat it from the top during my follow-up. I was not comfortable with that idea at all. I definitely do NOT want them removing the entire door panel!

I later learned that partially loosening the top of the door trim is a common tint installation method, but I was not aware of this beforehand. If I had known, I would have inspected that area before leaving.

Currently, the trim looks mostly normal. The gap is gone and the wind noise improved, but at highway speeds of 60-70mph with the radio off, I still hear some wind noise, but I normally don't drive in silence so I can't say this was not always the case before.

My concern is whether the door trim/clips were properly restored and whether letting the tint shop try again creates more risk than leaving it alone. I do not want unnecessary disassembly of the door panel, but I am also concerned about the longevity or future issues if something is not attached/aligned properly.

My followup with Ceramic Pro is in 2 weeks for them to finish the work they didn't do (sunroof) and address any remaining issues. The shop has been very nice and took accountability, but they missed multiple things during the handoff (including the sunroof tint and something else), so my confidence in them is low now. I know the default solution is ask the shop to fix it, but I am not sure I am comfortable with that anymore.

I am going back to Lexus next month for a liftgate sensor issue that is covered under warranty. Should I also ask Lexus to inspect both front door trims to confirm they are properly seated. Is that overkill? How much do you think they would charge? Are they going to hold any parts of the warranty against me knowing that the part has been touched by a 3rd party?

Discussion Lexus IS 350 vs Acura TLX A-Spec

I'm planning on replacing my 2015 Camry LE (120k miles) later this year and have narrowed it down to two cars:

  • 2026 Lexus IS 350 F SPORT AWD (new)
  • 2024+ Acura TLX A-Spec SH-AWD (used)

My priorities are:

  • Reliability and low maintenance
  • Keeping the car for 8-10+ years
  • Comfortable daily driver that's still fun
  • Good interior and tech

The Lexus build I'm looking at is about $56k. I like the NA V6, interior, and overall Lexus reliability.

The TLX is appealing because it's significantly cheaper used and SH-AWD gets great reviews.

My biggest hesitation with the TLX is the touchpad infotainment and the size. I use Apple CarPlay all the time and I'm worried I'd end up hating not having a touchscreen. It's also much longer than the IS, and I live in a city where I occasionally have to parallel park, but I do see them from time to time here so I guess people get by OK.

For anyone who's owned or driven both:

  • Which would you choose and why (I know this is a Lexus sub but still)?
  • Is the TLX touchpad as annoying as people say?
  • Is the Lexus worth the extra money if the plan is to keep it for close to a decade?

Question Car buzz/Vibration

Car Vibration

I want to give you all as much information as possible so bear with me. When i say vibration/buzz i mean like if ur phone is in your hand and it vibrates it feels like that. It’s not some type of wobble. My car is a 2013 IS250 AWD. When I start driving I feel a vibration/buzz in my steering wheel, gas pedal, my floor board and my center console as in where my shifter(It’s an automatic) is, if i ride with my hand on the shift i’ll get that vibration/buzz feeling. All of this happens once I put my foot on the gas to start driving. It doesn’t happen when I’m stationary just sitting at a red light. I’ve had my engine and transmission mounts replaced(I know it could be a possibility if it wasn’t torqued right) If i’m on the highway and i’m going 70 mph and I shift the car into neutral the Vibration stays the same nothing changes about it. Lastly when I’m sitting in park and rev my car i noticed that the vibration/Buzz is still there. Once u start slowly pushing the gas it’s very faint up until 2,500 rpm and from there on up it become very noticeable. I personally don’t think it’s drivetrain or suspension related at all since the vibration is still there even when sitting in park and revving it. Do you guys have any guess as to what this might be? Sorry for the long post
