Added many new flair options which should encompass all IS models. Please let me know if any changes need to be made.

Thanks to /u/NeoG_ for the recommendation and for providing the full list!

Opinions on a 2023 IS350 awd

Hello everyone, I’m back looking for everyone’s opinion before I pull the trigger on this 2023 Lexus IS 350 F SPORT AWD.

I’ve been shopping for a 2023+ IS 350 AWD for a while and I think I found one that checks almost every box, but I’d appreciate some opinions before I commit.

2023 Lexus IS 350 F SPORT AWD
● Ultra White / Circuit Red interior
● 24,426 miles
● 1-owner personal lease
● Clean CARFAX (no accidents or damage)
● Original MSRP: ~$55,800

Options:
● F SPORT Handling Package (AVS)
● Mark Levinson audio
● Triple Beam LED headlights
● Navigation
● Memory Package
● Moonroof
● Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking

The CARFAX shows consistent maintenance, mostly at the Lexus dealer. One thing I noticed is the steering rack was replaced under warranty around 17k miles and the car also had an alignment and three tires replaced around that time. Everything else looks clean.

The dealer’s pricing is:
Selling price: $45,598
Doc fee: $499
Total before tax: $46,097
I’m in Massachusetts, so after the 6.25% sales tax I’m looking at roughly a $49k out-the-door price before registration.

A few questions for people who know these cars:

  1. Does this seem like a fair deal, or would you hold out for something better?
  2. What would you realistically try to negotiate the selling price down to?
  3. Would the steering rack replacement concern you if it was done by a Lexus dealer under warranty?
  4. Is there anything specific I should inspect or ask about before buying?

I’ve looked at quite a few IS 350s over the past few months, and this is by far the best-equipped one I’ve found. I’m just trying to make sure I’m not overlooking anything before I move forward. Thanks!

I purchased this Lexus about two months ago and i absolutely love it. The first thing I did to it was the chrome delete around the windows. Today i got the mirrors and roof wrapped professionally. What other tasteful visual modifications can I make to make it look more aggressive and sleek. Would black rims look better? I’m thinking black badges for sure but I’m not sure what else I could/ should change.

Radio Issue Help!

Post image
4 Upvotes

I just bought my first Lexus not too long ago and realized only the left side of my radio ( Climate, Radio, DISP, and Info ) works. And the right side doesn't at all, no screen either. It just shows the message " The external system is not connected ". I checked all radio fuses with a multimeter while set on continuity ( speaker logo ) it beeps and displays (.02). Which I believe means the fuse is good. I also pulled out the radio and didn't see anything unplugged.

Does anyone/ did anyone have this issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Need help choosing the right 18” tire size for my 2019 Lexus IS 300 RWD

Hey everyone! I have a 2019 Lexus IS 300 RWD that’s currently on the stock 17” wheels. I’m upgrading to 18x9.5 Enkei T6R wheels (+35 offset) and I’m not sure what tire size I should go with.
My goals are:
Daily driving with good comfort
Good grip
No rubbing on stock suspension
Clean, flush fitment
I’ve been looking at sizes like 245/40R18, 255/35R18, and 265/35R18, but I’m not sure which would be the best choice.
What tire size would you recommend for all four corners? If you’re running a similar setup, I’d love to see photos and hear your experience.

Thanks in advance!

My first Lexus! Did some shopping and ended up with this 2011 is250 AWD, has 110k miles. I have a few simple mods planned. What should I know about the car though? Anything I should have looked at right off the bat? I do know about the carbon buildup but I've read it's less of an issue in the later years of the 2nd gens. Thanks!

Lexus is300 check ABS + traction control lights

Post image

I have a 2016 Lexus is300 base model, awd, 105k miles. For a few months now, my check ABS light along with traction control have been coming on. There doesn’t seem to be anything else wrong, it feels fine when driving and braking, and I also don’t hear anything when braking. It will come on randomly and stay on until I shut the car off. When I start the car again the lights go away. Sometimes it stays off for a while, sometimes it will randomly come back on. I’ve tried googling this issue and the closest thing I can come to is possibly needing to get the codes read/reset. My issue is it comes on and off randomly, so I feel like if the lights aren’t on, there’s no use in bringing it in somewhere because the problem isn’t presenting itself. Any ideas to what this could be or how to fix? Thank you!

Gotta take a better video but I’m wondering if the meter would round out entirely if I do a donut.

Update: Built a clean way to document IS builds

Hey IS owners,

About 5 months ago, I shared an early version of this project here. This was actually one of the very first Reddit communities I posted it in, and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to check it out and leave feedback. A lot of your suggestions genuinely helped shape the platform into what it is today.

It's basically aa platform where every car gets one permanent build page to document everything in one place, including:

  • Full mod list & specs
  • Suspension & wheel/tire setup
  • Verified dyno numbers & power-to-weight
  • Shops involved & clubs you're part of
  • Build updates over time
  • Mod tagging on photos, so you can show exactly where each part is installed
  • A complete build history & timeline for documenting purchases, major upgrades, rebuilds, track days, and everything in between

Since that first post here, the platform has grown to 1,700+ documented builds from enthusiasts around the world.

One of the cleanest IS on the platform so far out of the 40+ rn

pinkslips.app/kmodelexus

If you've got a Lexus whether it's stock, a weekend project, or a full-on race car you can create your own build page and keep everything organized in one place instead of having it spread across different apps and posts.

And as always, I'd genuinely love your feedback. This community was one of the first to support the project, and I'm really grateful for everyone who helped in the early days. If there's anything you'd want to see tracked or added specifically for IS builds, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks again, everyone. ❤️

High Pitched Whining Sound Off Throttle - HELP!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey all! Car is a 2017 IS350 Fsport AWD with 65,000 miles. Just recently started hearing this sound and I'm trying to diagnose what it could be. There is a loud whining sound that changes pitched based off speed. It is more noticeable at highway speeds but I can hear it whenever the car is moving. I put the car into neutral and the sound didn't change at all. It sounds like something spinning really fast. Has anyone experienced this or perhaps know what it could be? My mechanic isn't available until August so wasn't sure how bad it is to drive with it.

Thanks in advance!
