Technical Question JLU Soft Top Repair Options?

Thumbnail

I’m not sure how this happened, but the soft top canvas separated itself (ripped off) from the tension bar.

It appears the fabric is sewn into the soft top, then is attached to a piece of plastic that goes into the tension bar.

Is this even repairable, or do I need to find a new soft top?

New old Jeep owner

Hello,

Old man, typing this, I'm the proud owner of a Willys Special Edition. I'm picking it up later today. I'm very happy with everything about the Willys Special Edition. I love the wheels, and the look.

Except for one element of the Jeep. The tan seats, I don't hate the color, its just that the light color will show off the dirt like nobody's tomorrow. So I'm here to ask of suggestions for seat covers - something that isn't too garish looking.

Front end issue

I have a 06 unlimited I have a couple questions i need advice on first one being i pulled all the rugs out and need a recommendation for a bedliner type of solution to cover the floors. I run no top in the summer and it gets wet from time to time so the rugs got all moldy.

Second question is i notice my front driver side sway bar link has been leaning against the frame and its always been like this i asked a mechanic and he said its not much to worry about but it sometimes make a squeaking while accelerating. Is this normal for tj and if not how do i fix it

Technical Question Humming noise after getting up to 40~ mph

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

(Front wheel drive 2016 jeep patriot) Im guessing its the wheel bearings but I wanna be sure. The noise mostly goes away when turning which is a bit odd, thought it was the tires but got them replaced and it still did it. (Check engine light is for a gascap sensor so don't get on my ass about it)

I have a 2021 jeep wrangler 2.0 Willy’s edition jeep and the exhaust camshaft sensor went out and then it appears the make up air hose broke but I am trying to see if that’s actually what it is. Also in the second picture I was trying to figure out what this connector is. Thank you in advance.

Technical Question Weird issue with 2023 compass

Twice this week, while at a stop with auto start/stop on, my compass has flashed several error messages (ALM needs service, start/stop needs service, forward collision warning needs service, dynamic steering torque needs service).

That all sounded like battery issues to me, so I took it in (got new batteries about a year ago). The shop told me it was a ā€œcomputer glitchā€ and that they installed updates and it should be fine.

Today it happened again, but it all cleared after I turned off the car and restarted it.

Any idea what’s going on? Or any advice for what to tell the shop told make sure the issue actually is found and fixed?

Advice Please

Hello everyone,

I just picked up my gladiator a week ago. A 2022 sport s with 16,000 miles on it. I’m trying not to mod it too quick but in order to prepare for the big ones, I like to do my research first.

Can anyone tell me a good lift, lift kit, and tire and wheel setup to go with when I’m good and ready? I heard there’s a potential for re-gearing but I’d like to avoid that if possible.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Woke up to this little surprise waiting for me as I tried to get to work. About to head down to the auto parts store to grab a replacement sensor for the rear wheel.

EDIT: Not sure why the photo quality is ass, but I uploaded a better pic in the comments.

Anyone have any experience with this repair or tips to share?

Thanks in advance!

Purchase Questions Are there issues with Gladiators specifically?

I’m looking at a 2023 with 53k miles and I’ve heard some comments from people saying it’s a bad idea to buy Gladiators. Are there any issues with the Gladiators that make them more prone to issues vs a wrangler?

Technical Question 3.6 JKU Running Hot?

2015 Wrangler Sport, 128k miles. My Jeep has been running hot. Around 230 at idle, then 238 driving and peaking at 246, according to my flashcal scanner. Even with the top off and the defroster on full blast. I replaced the waterpump and thermostat last March, since it was overheating much worse and left me stuck on the side of the road(dash gage at max, overheat light came on.) I didn't have this issue until the start of this summer. At first I only noticed it happening with the AC on, but it does it with the AC off. The radiator doesn't look dirty, but I hosed it off between the grill slots anyway. I filled and burped the system after using a CO2 tester. I assume the thermostat is okay, but I have not pulled it and tested it to verify yet. I want to pull the grill off and see if there is anything clogging the backside of the radiator or the condenser. I'm really not sure what else to check or where to look. The only thing that's different is I topped it off with purple coolant instead of orange.
