Discussion Why Are Indian Gamers Obsessed with Certain Things?

A little bit of backstory: I've been playing games on PC since I was 7. I never really talked about games with anyone other than my friend, so when I got to college, I was excited to meet other people and learn what kinds of games they played.

It was fun at first, but now it's been two years in college and about a month of lurking in this subreddit.

Now to my main point:

Why is it always:

- GTA V = peak

- Red Dead Redemption 2 = peak

- The Witcher 3 = peak

- Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong (if their PC can run them) = peak

- Forza = peak

- "Good graphics = better game"

- "3D = better"

- "2D = What even is this?"

- AAA = instantly hyped

- Indie = "Not my type" (all of them.. not their type..)

I've heard these takes so many times that I'm genuinely curious. Growing up, I was pretty disconnected from the wider gaming community, so I don't know where this mindset came from..

What happened? Was it a popular streamer? A YouTuber?

At first, it annoyed me. Now I'm just genuinely curious.

Help Help! Please recommend UPS for PC

I am making a decent build with these specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: 9060XT OC 16GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 Gaming x Wifi6E
AIO: MSI Mag Coreliquid A13
RAM: 32 GB DDR5 CL30 (TeamGroup)
SSD: 1TB NVMe Gen 4 (ADATA Legend 900 Pro)
Cabinet: Lian Li Vector 100R
PSU: MSI Mag A850GL PCIE5 850W 80 plus gold
Monitor: Acer Nitro XV272U V3 (180 Hz, QHD)

I’m assuming my wattage requirement should be around 500-600W and a 1500VA UPS should do. I rarely get power cuts (maybe once a day) and live in a gated society with power backup (switches in like 2 mins). I’m not looking to spend any more than what is required. Recommend me a reliable UPS please! Preferably under 10K INR and makes the least amount of noise (I sleep and basically live in the same room 😭)

Hello guys, i will be purchasing my first gaming laptop which is a lenovo legion 5 (15' / 39cms)

Will it be necessary for me to get a cooling pad to maintain the fans underneath? I'm a total newbie so I have no clue about it

Been reading on here saying that it wouldn't make much of a difference and rather go for a stand instead

Please give me your opinions and help me decide

Help Moving from Canada to India. How do I bring my PC?

Need to stay in India for a couple of months so I am bringing my PC with me. The idea is to bring the GPU, MoBo, RAM and CPU cooler.

Do I just bubble wrap all this and put it in my carry-on bag?

Also about the PSU. I have a corsair RM1200X which I believe is 100-240V so will that work with just a plug adapter or do I need to get a new PSU in India?

Its a bit of a beefy system 5090 GPU / 64GB RAM so I am worried about the power draw. Will definitely get a good UPS to with it.

Help What if Insurence rather than Extended warranty?

So I was thinking to buy a RTX 5060 Laptop

I was prefering Lenevo Legion R7 260 (8 Cores) but Asus ROG which has Ryzen 9 HX (16 Cores) seems better value for money in better price

Lenevo gives offer very frequently for Extended warranty

Asus also provides 2 year extended warranty at very discounted price (If we buy under 15 days of perchase ig)

But I come to this Acer Predator Helios Neo 16s which has Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX  (20 Cores) with RTX 5070 but the extended warranty of Acer is Around 13.5k for 2 years (That's too much Ig)

So, what If I buy Acer and get Laptop insurance for 2 - 3 years, where they cover 100% value of product. It is costing very less.

Idk what to do, is it very good idea or bad idea?

Discussion Good News for Indian Gamers : More OLED Monitor Options Be Coming Soon

From what I've heard from a trusted source at Gigabyte India, the Gigabyte MO27Q28GR / MO27Q28G OLED is expected to launch in India by the end of Q3 or early Q4. Along with it, several other OLED gaming monitors are also expected to make their way to the Indian market.

I've also heard that Gigabyte is in the process of bringing entry-level OLED monitors, which are expected to be available around Q4.

So if you're currently planning to buy an entry-level OLED monitor (such as the Alienware AW2726DM or Samsung Odyssey G5 OLED), I'd honestly recommend waiting a little longer. With new entry-level OLED monitors on the way, you'll likely have more options, better pricing, and stronger competition across brands.

So wait a lil, my fellow gamers—Gigabyte seems to be gearing up for some serious OLED competition in India. 👀🔥

Discussion Lack of ultrawide oled options in India

I love a good monitor, I have a Dell ultrasharp for work along with benq ex271u as second screen for work and gaming that I do on side. I took a conscious decision to buy ips due to burn-in.

But having played ps5 on lg c2, it seems for gaming at least, that benq is obviously dull. Have seen some oled monitors but forza horizon 6 on an ultrawide oled is way too good.

I see there are some options from samsung but I am not impressed by their quality. Any news if a brand is going to launch in India too.

Ordered AMD 7000 Series Ryzen 7 7800X 3D Desktop Processor in amazon during the prime sale.

Looks like they are using some pattern in doing such scam, first order stuck in out for delivery. When contacted amazon support they trigger a new order, which is shipped from Kolkatta. Received the 7800x box but the processor inside is old used Ryzen 5 3500.

Raised to amazon and they told it will take 4 days for investigation. fingers crossed. Will put update on the investigation outcome by Sunday.

Discussion How is this build for 1440p gaming ?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I want a Ryzen 7 gaming PC that can handle 1440p gaming easily, this is what i came up with based on the suggestions i see people give on this subreddit, and yes i want it to be minimal with no RGB if possible. My budget is max 250k. I also don't care much about resale value of the parts, as i saw some people talking about it, because when the time comes to upgrade i would just like to rather use the old parts for other purposes rather than selling them.

CPU: Ryzen 7 9850X3D
Motherboard: Gigabyte B850M
Ram: G.Skill Trident DDR5 32GB (16x2)
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 9060XT 16GB
PSU: Cooler Master Elite Gold 750W
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 36 CO CPU Cooler

Is there any changes for the better that can be made here ?

Discussion Game based on Bhangarh, Two indie developers, Two years of work, now looking for honest feedback

Post image
43 Upvotes

It’s been almost two years since we first started working on this project, and we’ve finally reached a point where we can let others experience it. The demo for our horror game, Bhangarh: The Untold Story, is now available on Steam.

Over the past few months, the game has also been featured by outlets like IGN, which has been a huge milestone for our small team. Now we'd love to hear what actual players think.

Steam Link

If you enjoy horror games, we’d really appreciate it if you could give the demo a try and let us know what you think.

Since this is a demo, your feedback is incredibly valuable to us. If you encounter:

  • Bugs or glitches
  • Performance issues
  • Gameplay problems
  • Anything that feels off

Please report it through the "Report Bug" section so we can fix it before the full release.

We’d also love to hear your thoughts in a bit more detail if possible:

  • Audio: We’ve put a lot of effort into building a dynamic audio system where sound changes based on the environment (reverb, echo, spatial effects, etc.). Did it feel immersive? Did it react naturally to different spaces, or did anything feel off?
  • Environment: Did the atmosphere and setting feel believable and engaging?
  • Jumpscares: Were they effective, predictable, or too frequent?
  • Mechanics: How did the gameplay feel overall? Was movement, interaction, or pacing smooth?
  • Overall experience: What stood out to you the most, and what didn’t work?

If you enjoy the demo, leaving a Steam review would also help us a lot as a small indie team.

Help Received a damaged motherboard from Vishal Peripherals and being asked to RMA it myself. What should I do?

Thumbnail

I recently ordered a Gigabyte B850M Gaming X WiFi 6E motherboard and a Gigabyte RX 9070 XT Gaming OC from Vishal Peripherals for my new PC build.
I received them, and when I checked the motherboard, I found that one of the RAM slots is physically broken/damaged. I contacted Vishal Peripherals immediately and sent them proof, but they told me that since they’re resellers, I’ll have to get it RMA’d.
I don’t understand why I should have to go through the RMA process myself for something that arrived damaged out of the box. I paid full price for a brand-new motherboard and literally just received it. I’m also a college student, so going around to service centers and dealing with RMA for a brand-new product is a huge hassle.
There was also an issue with the GPU. I specifically confirmed multiple times before ordering that I wanted the BLACK Gigabyte RX 9070 XT Gaming OC because my entire build is black, but I received the white version.
I contacted them about this too, and to be fair, they told me today to pack the GPU and that they’ll initiate a pickup. They said the black model is currently out of stock, so they’ll either try to arrange one for me or refund me. So hopefully that gets sorted.
My main concern now is the motherboard. Is it normal for the seller to tell me to RMA a motherboard that arrived physically damaged? Shouldn’t they replace a product that was damaged straight out of the box? What should I do?
