City centre quiet places
I now work in town so need to bring my lunch to work now. I can’t stand the canteen where I work because people cook all manners of bad smelling food and I hate interacting with others (nothing personal I just like my space).
I’ve got a few good ideas where I can chill and eat my lunch that are outside (picnic places) but I’m looking for indoor spaces/places safe from wind and rain because, y’know, Hull.
I know I can go to cafes etc but don’t fancy spending £3 a day and to not be able to eat my own food. Anyone know of any good spots in the city centre that would meet my needs?
Or should I suck it up and get in the Humber already?

Farm volunteering
Are there any farms in and around hull that openly advertised for volunteers?
I've looked on national websites and only found some MH positions. But this would just be adults who own an allotment and have an interest in learning and helping out in their community.

The perpetual Kcomm issue- moving out of area
Partner leaving Hull with 12 months left on a Kcomm contract. Being charged a huge amount.
Does anyone know a way to get out of the payment? Does the ‘change my service to my new area’ work? I know you can get someone else to take over the WiFi but this seems like it’ll be quite difficult

HullLIve Premium
So, Hull Live believe people should now be paying to read about local news at the cost of £40 a year. Who thought their "journalism" was of such high quality that this was a good idea.
For years their online news articles have been written by what i can only describe as the work experience kid. Lots of articles about one the reporters friends who died recently that no one cares about, articles absolutley covered in ads to the point where the page barely loads fully.

Western honey bee on my bolted leek
Decided to let this leek go to seed for next year.
It's over my head in height, the bumble bees prefer the borage.

Helmets on or off? East Yorkshire bikers split over fuel pump etiquette

But left in a huff anyway
Removing your helmet has been the polite response for years, decade, even. It was the done thing 25 years ago when I was in college. 😎

Places to play basketball in Hull
Hi guys 👋
I'm currently living up in HU4 area and had the honour of visiting Nike's European Headquarters in the Netherlands 2 weeks ago.
After getting to shoot a few hoops on Michael Jordan's court it made me realise (A) Despite going to the gym my cardio sucks at 33 years old and (B) How much I miss simple recreational activities like this.
I'm just wondering what areas there are where I can go shoot some hoops? Ideally looking at outdoor places near parks where I can go in the mornings peacefully on my days off work but also any indoor courts I can look to book when the colder days start to pick up.
Anything near west Hull most ideal due to where I live but open to anywhere.
Thank you!

What shop(s) would you miss if you left hull?
I've just waved off my friend who is moving out to the east riding.
She's so excited about moving to the small town in a lovely house with her family.
But, she's devastated that there is no Heron Foods!
We practically live there, we went most mornings after school drop off. I'd definitely miss it!

hotels for tonight
Hey guys, me and my boyfriend both live at home so often get hotel for the night in hull just for a bit of one on one time, does anyone know of any hotels in hull (through to skirlaugh/hornsea etc) that do cheap one night stays? if you don’t know specific places, what websites does everyone use to look? i’ve used booking.com in the past but what is everyone’s favourite? kayak, trip.com or something else etc, ideally best for last minute as i’m looking for tonight, thank you!
*update
I already have regular hotel (the galleon) which can get for £60 a night, just didn’t know if there was anywhere cheaper, especially with last minute hotels eg booking for that night or day before, or somewhere to find vouchers

Dastaar film showing
Hello, i was an extra in the film dastaar. It came out in cinemas a day or two ago, does anyone know if its showing anywhere in hull? Would be an awful shame if not considering how much was filmed here
