Why is my open A string buzzing like this?

I bought this 2005 MiM Fender strat two weeks ago and had it professionally set up by the store. The A string has recently started making this weird buzzing/rattling sound, which I’ve never experienced before while not fretting, just playing open strings.

The strings are only about two weeks old, so I wouldn’t expect them to be worn out already.
Is this likely just a bad string, or could it be something like the nut, saddle, or another issue with the guitar? Any ideas on what I should check first?

how would you describe the guitar sounds at the 30 second mark, 1:03 & 2:11 ? they’re brief, but hypnotic. intoxicating. how could this sound be recreated?

it is a Brazilian song from the late 1970’s.

I bought a guitar for +-35usd (im from South Africa) second hand.

It is clearly an all partscaster with very bad body. I took it apart but the neck is interesting… dont have any idea what it is. It has a wallnut plug and clearly new tuners. The measurements:
Slight V profile
7.25 radius
41.2mm nut
21 frets

So I have a Dean Kerry King Flying V, with a hybrid kahlor on it. And I dont really use the tremolo bar at all. So I am wondering if I lock the kahlor and unlock the nut, could I play perfectly fine as if I had a fixed bridge? Photos of said guitar below:

First Electric Guitar

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a good-quality electric guitar. In my country, guitars are usually more expensive than they are overseas, so I want to make sure I'm spending my money wisely.

I've been considering a guitar called the Aria Pro II LST-X Legend Stratocaster, which costs around $103 USD.

I'd like to ask if you think this guitar is worth the price. Is it a good choice for the money, or would you recommend looking for something else instead?

Thanks in advance for your advice, and thanks for taking the time to read my post!

im looking for a new guitar for shoegaze/ post hardcore and was wondering which guitars would suit the job the best? im looking for something that can handle a nice dreamy clean tone and also a good chunky tone for heavier drop d chords and breakdowns. i was thinking about a jazzmaster of some sort but would anyone have any other suggestions?

Alright fellow guitarists, I need some help finding a certain guitar.

So, I'm looking for a guitar for my mom for her birthday that's coming up VERY soon. If you've heard of the band Silverchair then this'll help, my mom is a huge fan of the band and has been since she was in high school: I'm trying to find the closest possible guitar to one of Daniel John's, either his silver metallic or green PRS.

-I've been looking all day online to find guitars similar yet I haven't got too many ideas yet I also don't want to spend anything over ~700$ for it. I know that his green PRS was more less a one of a kind custom but I want to make it as close as I can get to it. The silver PRS is really the only one I've been able to find things similar to but it always comes in a icey blue tinged color, but I guess if it's the closest it's not too bad. I've also seen him play what I think is a orange/red PRS?

Anyways, any help finding something close would be a lot of help.

Edit- YES. I KNOW the tremolo arms come off, only reason I said anything about it is that I didn't want it to be such a pain to tune like Floyd Rose.

I'm looking for something for a beginner and looks VAGUELY like one of his guitars. Not exact at all, this is just one for now to learn on and looks decent.

How much can I trust a top tier consingment shop to quote me the right prices on my high end guitars?

I am taking several high-end guitars to a well-known consignment shop, hopefully to be sold on consignment. I am by no means an expert in this sphere. How can I make sure I get quoted fair prices?

Any inexpensive guitar wireless you would recommend?

What are some inexpensive guitar wireless systems that you would recommend? I'm looking for something reliable enough for big events and different types of venues. Preferably, I'd like a system that operates on either the 5.8 GHz band or UHF.

Tone matching/Gear recommendation app feedback

Hey everyone, I recently finished an MVP for ToneMatch, an app that lets you:

  1. Input your guitar gear and research how to match the tone of a song you want to play (provides exact settings for your guitar, amp, pedals, etc, cites sources, provides workarounds if you’re missing gear, and provides an accuracy score for how likely you will be able to recreate the tone with your gear)
  2. Lets you get recommendations on what gear to buy next based on your current gear, budget, and what would have the most impact on bringing your tone closer to what you like to play

The app is 100% free to use. Would appreciate any feedback!

I asked a guitar store owner what actually makes money. It's not the guitars.

Was chatting with the owner of a local guitar shop the other day and casually asked what has the best margins in his store. Expected him to say high-end guitars or lessons. He said accessories — strings, picks, cables. Way better margins than instruments.

His exact words: "Guitars get them in the door. Accessories let you keep the lights on."

He told me new guitars sit around 30-40% margin, accessories can hit 80% or higher. I didn't believe him at first but looked it up and it checks out.

Anyone who's worked at or owned a music store — is this ratio real? What's actually the most profitable category in your shop? And what makes an accessory sell well for you?

What do you think of this guitar? I bought this guitar for a very good price (~760 €) with a hard case, leather belt and strap locks. There are no resell auctions with this model (but I didn't dwell deep into this topic). I found out that this company is considered really good, but isn't really popular. Any thoughts? Has anyone played this guitar? How does it stand in comparison to Gibson's model?

Would you trust AI to appraise the value of your guitars?

I just used Claude AI’s Fable 5 to provide me with an appraisal of my guitars. I’m very impressed with the outcome. It used Reverb, and a few other sources that are trusted. Do you think we can true AI to be a trust appraiser of our guitars?
