Hello, I've been using an old android tablet for a while now, where I could have access easily to all my music sheets on google drive, and so on.

My tablet is slowly dying and I'd like to know your experience concerning digital scores and tablets. What would you recommend for an amateur musicians that plays music daily ?
I'm mostly playing piano and singing.

Should I stay with Android or switch to an Ipad? Everyone tells me that Ipad is more tailored for musicians but I don't really get why. And if yes, for which kind of Ipad? I'm lost, there are so many options and things to take into account...

What would be the most important criterias for you when buying a tablet for playing music ? As it's still an important investment, I want to buy something that will help me and will last for a couple of years.

I'm thinking of auditioning for a couple positions in a band. I want to avoid people who take drugs. I'm very serious about this. Should I say something like, no drug users need apply, or something similar?

After many months being here in this app...I just discovered song writer group... lovely community so many talented people gosh what a creavity!

The song opens on a SFX, a few bells and chimes, some pluck instruments, and then a slew of string and wind instruments appear and hold one or two chords. I need to identify those instruments for a proyect, but i don't really know what they are, would be of great help if someone could help me with a list of those instruments they know

I'm not at all perfect as a singer. But I just wanna know how the audience would perceive :

Someone who sings a cover song over a backing track and tried their best to hit the hardest part of the song even though they're not perfect.

Vs someone who has to divide their focus to sing and play an instrument at the same time and the singing quality is just so-so (not wow but not bad, just very average).

Would they be less judgmental towards the singer who tried their best to play an instrument at the same time?

is it wrong to use AI for help.

i write songs and music completely on my own, but i've never been good at editing and it confuses the hell out of my adhd/autism to understand.

so i will put my lyrics into AI, not to rewrite, but to tell me how to edit a song.

for example, if i need to rewrite something or an idea doesn't make sense, it will tell me.

i don't take any ideas from AI, all i do is ask what needs to be changed.

and i have found the more it points out my bad points, the better i get at noticing them myself.

so yes, is this wrong?

i see many people saying to just learn edit, but i really really can not figure out how, its extremely confusing especially with my autism so if you say this, pls in your comment also explain how. i do not have money for classes or someone to help making the songs.

How about complex rhythms? How do you do with more tonic and less phasic serotonin activity?

I have a dream of creating music. Singing + electronic stuff in DAWs. I even dabbled in both, but faced a serious problem that prevents me from being consistent.

I burn out very fast. Listening to my own stuff on repeat (as you must do when creating music) makes me tired of it and I stop seeing beauty and meaning.

What is more, learning to make music you like requires you to analyze your favorite tracks. You know, to understand what makes them work. I am afraid it will ruin my favorite songs for me. Because I will no longer see a wonder, but just an application of tricks I've seen so many times they make me sick.

How do other musicians combat this? Does this mean making music is just not for me?

I LOOOVE AZALI's musix, as well as the soundtrack for Irisu Syndrome- overall I typically love stuff with jazzy chords and weird time signatures buuuut the problem is I have no idea where to start... I be making music for 4 years all 4 years i never get better people who done it for less are way better than me. I entered a song wars for fun and the entire judging staff or whatever all unironically told me to quit music and try again in another life. I think they are right

I do this from time to time if I'm having trouble finding a tool that does the thing I need and doesn't cost money at the same time. I'm wondering if people would consider this using AI for my music cuz I don't wanna use AI to create art but its so helpful at finding me what I need to not use AI for art. If ppl do consider it using AI for my music I'll just go back to searching for stuff the normal way of actually surfing the web. I'd also like to add that I rlly wanna stop using AI in general. I tend to adore songs that are, for a lack of a better word, heavenly or ethereal. It feels like I am "floating" when I am listening to this type (?) of music. They also have a sound of yearning or melancholy, to me. I will list some examples:

My first question is, is there a common thread between these songs that elicits these feelings I describe? Are there certain musical techniques they use? I'm very interested in how it all comes together.

My second question, related to the first, is, what can I look for to keep finding songs like this? Is there a particular genre or sound I can search? I'd also be happy to take recommendations.

I made a piece with swing(i moved every second note 1/4 step), but in some parts i want to use triplets to play the middle note. they are close but a little off. is this possible or should i write the piece in all triplets?

I'm working on two similar subgenres of pop music, and I really wish they'd take off someday. I have a playlist of songs to fit them, and I wanna write an album or two of their kinda music. My musical prowess is growing, and I'm spanning genres of any kind, so I got this concept rolling and I wanna make it happen one day.

I have a show coming up in a couple months where I might be opening up with the song singing while playing guitar and this chorus and pre chorus drives me insane because it doesnt sound like 4/4 at all and I don't know how to count the tempo. It just sounds wrong and I can never insert the vocals into the right spot. I haven't been able to find anything online about it at all and I have no idea why it's stumping me so help would be greatly appreciated
