Rant | Vent Im being hated by this group of friends

Upvotes

I know this is prolly not the right forum but I don't have the energy to care about it. Im F19 I used to be super popular where i studied before (due to my academic achievements) I'm not the type to boast or bully. Im a very happy go lucky person and all I do is joke around. I don't have secrets about or against me either.

Outside of my college, I have a lot of friends who appreciate me and think I'm funny. I seem to be the opposite in my college group right now. I have never felt this rejected and left out. For some reason beyond my understanding - I'm being deliberately ignored by this group of girls (two in my class a few in the other) Out of this group 2-3 of them knew eachother prior to this institution and remained friends. And quite honestly i would never speak of anyone in this group in a high manner they're not exceptional people or the type you would miss hanging out with but yk in college u need a group to survive regardless right? I also wouldn't say they are particularly close to eachother except the 2-3 who've studied together before.

It's not even clear signs of leaving me out it's those petty middle school moves where you whisper stuff to others and talking to everyone and greeting everyone except that one girl (which happens to be me)

Now i know the obvious solution is to make other friends which I do in college - however this particular group is in my class same course so we share a lot more in terms of class hours, exams etc which makes this hard to ignore or leave. Im genuinely typing this in my college's washroom so that should tell you a lot about how i would rather stay here than amidst that group.

Have you been in a similar situation? What would you do if you were me?

Rant | Vent Am I too sensitive??

20M here.

Lately I've been wondering whether I'm becoming too sensitive or if I'm finally seeing people more clearly.

I had a close friend (let's call him X) for years. Over time, I've started noticing things that bother me more and more. He has a habit of making really edgy comments online, often directed at women, feminists, or other people. He's usually serious about those opinions. While I think a few of his takes are justified, I disagree with most of them because they often come across as unnecessarily hateful or over the top.

Even in real life, he makes jokes that cross boundaries. He once joked about my girlfriend, recently wished me a happy birthday using a cuck meme with my face edited onto it, and when I told him I didn't appreciate it, he just brushed it off instead of apologizing, he instead tells me that i have become soft.

He also has a habit of ranking people by looks and comparing who's more attractive in our friend group, which honestly made me more insecure about my own appearance. Lately he's started making jokes about my height too, something he never really did before. I have a feeling he talks about me behind my back because some of these jokes seemed to come out of nowhere, but I obviously can't prove that.

Another thing is that after I left for college, he became much closer to another mutual friend. I know that's completely normal, and I don't blame either of them for becoming friends, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me feel replaced.

This isn't just about him either. I've been ghosted after dating, I've felt used for money or favors by some friends, and because of family issues growing up, I already struggle with trust.

Nowadays I find myself wanting to distance myself from a lot of people and just start fresh. I do have one or two friends I genuinely trust, so it's not like I think everyone is bad.

Do these sound like actual red flags in a friendship, or has my past made me more sensitive to disrespect than the average person?

I'd genuinely appreciate honest opinions, even if you think I'm wrong or if there's something I should work on myself.

Serious I'm disappointed in our country

What have we turned into?

When I was a child, I used to look up at our government as someone to respect. The largest democracy in our world. My parents said "If you ever feel unsafe and we're not around, go to a police station. The people there will treat you well".

And in democracies, peaceful protests happen, and it's the people's right to do so, and one's happening right now, but lord, my lord, the stuff we're looking at right now?

100+ protesters injured, 7 year old child hurt, women being harassed, using expired tear gas rounds, using batons with nails on it, who are police dealing with, criminals? Rapists? Terrorists? THEY'RE DEALING WITH STUDENTS FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!

And the police too, is following the government's orders as if they collectively chose a sodium free diet. I wonder how they sleep in the night after hitting students and peaceful protestors. THEY POINTED GUNS AT PEACEFUL PROTESTERS! These sick fucks would've fired with zero hesitation I bet.

And you know the worst thing I've learnt from this protest?

  1. The government doesn't give a fuck. A man hasn't eaten for a month in protest, and they took him away against his own will. Protest happening for a month, and ZERO action by them. They're shoving it in our faces.

  2. The so-called "free press" freely chose to NOT cover the protest till day 17 of the protest. It was delayed, the news channels are actively manipulated by the state and they warp the narrative for the unassuming.

And one other thing. When lawyers took the issue of police brutality to the CJI with proper evidence, his response was "no time to watch videos".

I'm truly disappointed in India. I'm disappointed in the government. Where's the India whose idea was sold to us? What happened to "for the people, by the people, of the people"? Don't we listen to problems? We are not North Korea. We are not Israel. We are not Nazi Germany.

We're a democracy. We're India

And still, they manage to disappoint.

Rant | Vent Upset over job offer amount

Hey guys I've been interning in my company for a year and after that I'm currently on extra month as i got moved to a different team and in this team i was able to bring in good progress so far. Like if continued and when scaled up it can save the company a lot of money. My manager scolded me for coming late once it was done he appreciated and even his peer managers appreciated him for that. My team lead and manager are taking up the credits sometimes when they're explaining to others, that's okay i don't mind of credits or visibility. So i got message from hr and told me how much package I'm getting and that i might officially get offer letter after a few days.

It's 14lpa.(12.3 after tax i guess) I mean it's good but i wished if it was maybe 19 lpa like my other freinds that got full time before me. I mean they are in dev role in dev team .

But i work as a dev and tester both , but i fall under a qa team so I'm assuming im gonna be paid that way.

Should I ask for negotiation when i actually get offer letter ?

Please let me know guys

Serious Guys please take care - Concerning things coming from protest site

Hello everyone,

Its been 3 days... and many of you have been participating in protest to ask for your rights and asking the resignation of illiterate, incapable ministers because its the matter of your future and whole country's future

But I really want to share advices because its really concerning

  1. Lathi charge, tear bombs , stampede are seriously dangerous please if you are going in protest and got hurt then please go back to home/hostel or your accomodation where you live don't stay at protest site when things go beyond control. I have seen people supporting each men and women both but understand this thing you guys have a life and family sp please when protest turns into lathi charge, violence etc... please run for your life, go back home stay safe
  2. Those who got injured during the protest please rest , visit doctor, recover.. Life is more valuable. In this shit af country country no one goes in govt service to serve they only go to loot and destroy the country (most people dream of becoming the officer to change their lives via bribes not to serve - example you are looking officers these days) in every possible way... so please don't risk your precious life... rest and recover, get well soon... you did your contribution.. really appreciate...Thanks

3. I have seen videos and posts stating that students or volunteers are missing, no information regarding their whereabouts and its really scary they are students, some are living in delhi away from family due to studies and also they are participating in protests as well.. might be possible no at their home knows about it and we know how good our system is with respect to the service they are supposed to provide... so who gonna find those kids ?? these corrupt officers ??? I'm just speechless tbh, I pray that those children return safely.

I urge everyone to act accordingly and don't waste your precious and valuable life ...Life of every student is valuable..., You guys have already faced alot mentally, socially, politically and some of you.. left family, left friends, left the activities you loved doing, left home to study, some of you study + work too... but please have patience don't risk your life

Ask GenZIndia Block Channels on my TV

Hey people, I have a problem with my parents consuming misinformation and I want to block certain channels on Youtube and Jio STB.

I manage the Google TV(Sony Bravia) at my home and I am also the family manager on Youtube since I pay for both the subscriptions.

I am not looking for a lecture on ethics, so please spare yourself from interacting with this post if you were planning to.

Serious Me when people say "I don't care about p0litics"

Post image
59 Upvotes

They'd be like "I don't care about p0litics" , "I'm not interested in that shit and don't wanna crack my head" , "I'll just mind my own business instead of interfering my mind in these"

Like WTF Bro, You don't care about how you life is going to be in this country ? P0litics will affect your life whether you follow it or not.

  • Taxes you pay
  • Quality of roads
  • Education System
  • Job opportunities
  • Healthcare
  • Women's rights
  • Defense and National Security
  • Freedom of Speech

I understand what y'all get in your mind when hearing p0litics, the protests, fights, TV debates, blame game, etc

But all these things happens in other matters also like Sports, Movies, Celebrity Culture etc. Which tells that maybe it's not the fights, debates that makes you uninterested. You just don't prioritise it well just because those fights and all makes you think "P0litics is meh"

You don't have to spend hours and hours in news channels, political journals to learn p0litics, Try to understand what is happening around and why it is happening.

There is nothing wrong in entertainment. The question is whether it's balanced with awareness of civic issues.

It might not be clearly visible in front of your eyes, but P0litics shapes the environment where you live, regardless of whether you find it difficult or easy

It's hightime that the people should accept that showing this ignorance towards p0litics is not a flex

Our education minister has been funding his daughter's personal expenses from tax payer money. These ministers not only send their kids abroad after destroying the education system of our country, they are funding their lifestyle there directly from the public. Its not even that he is funding it from bribes, but actual reimbursement of around 60000 Rs for a single telephone bill. The state of our systems and checks are just pathetic.

While Dharmendra Pradhan was the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the government-backed company Petronet LNG Limited paid an international telephone and SIM card bill amounting to ₹68,424 for his daughter.

Honestly, these people don't understand the importance of this protest. It's not just even about justice for paper leaks and fair exampination system, it is now about whether the ruling party gives two fucks about you or not. If this protests gets crushed down or labeled as anti national or soros whatever, then beware that BJP won't give a flying fuck to any of your problems. This protest failing, will give them a free pass to do whatever they want.

The media is shaping the new narrative of this protest as something anti national, and that, protesters are beating up police personnels. Most of the ppl in their 30s to 50s watch TV as their main source of news, even newspaers like dainik jagran is shaping this protest as china funded, man. How far will they go down, how far?????

SEE THE DAINIK JAGRAN NEWSPAPER. THEY'RE REPORTING THIS PROTEST AS LIKE IT IS BORDER INSURGENCY.

General Why you should leave your parent's house by 21. My own experiences.

Well it has been 3 years since I moved out of my parents house and have been living alone. Earlier I was too skeptical about leaving my hometown and going to another City to workn but in the hindsight I realised that it was the best decision I took. I lament that I should have left my parents house a bit earlier. My best advice to the youth would be that is truth leave their parents house at the earliest opportunity available. This all the list of things that I did which won't be possible if I were living with my parents. Indian parents are very nosy. They won't let they are kids to leave your life independently even if you are in your early 20s. Here's the list of things that I tried and which have me a new perspective in life.

- had an amazing dating life. Dated a few girls. Infact, I had my first date at the age of 26 😭😭

- Tried alcohol for the first time. Rum, tequila, whisky, Beer tried it all! Now alcohol no longer attracts me. I just wanted to try just for the sake of experience .

- Did a lot of solo trips in India. Travelled solo to Udaipur Jaipur,Jodhpur, Delhi and Indore, Surat, Hyderabad. If I were living me with my parents they would make me feel guilty of not taking them with me.

- Got into gaming as a hobby and bought myself a very high end gaming laptop and played many games like Detroit become human, RDR2, Bond 007. My steam library is worth around 30k in games. Fulfilled my childhood dream 🥹

- Bought myself an Espresso machine and got myself into hobby of brewing coffee. Now, I know the difference between a Latte, cappuccino, Americano, Cortado, Flat white, Mont blanc, Dalgona coffee. My mom would be making faces if she found that I indulge in such extravagant stuff. As a middle class family it has been ingrained in my mind to save for the future and not to indulge in such stuff.

- Bought myself a 80k Phone and started photography. Ohh man! the experience is soo different compared to using a 18k phone 🫠

- Explored a lot of new cuisines and fine dine experience. My Dad always took us to the same family restaurant every few months and we never moved past Palak paneer and Dal tadka 😞 Now I have tried almost everything fancy. Sushi, Bao, Dimsum, Neopolitan pizza, Bamboloni, Baklava, hummus, Khao suey!

- finally had the money and courage to buy premium apparels like Levi's,Raymonds. Grew up wearing Rs 1k jeans and 800 ka shirt😬

- Bought a Sports bike ♥️

Ofcourse, this wasn't possible if I had not left my parents home to travel to a different city for a 3X pay. Living alone gave me the space and control over my finances and more importantly a a non judgemental environment where I could own my decisions and live a life on my terms. And mind it my parents don't even know any of the above things 🙂

LEAVE YOUR HOUSE AS YOU TURN 21!

I have fulfilled my every dream that I had as a 18 yo. I think I must upgrade my dreams haha!

Ask GenZIndia its straining to be with friends like these people!

so my friend today was saying that why didn't they protest after 20 when they were warned that there will be barricades and lathi charges if they go near the parliaments and now the same people are crying and complaining about these police actions and that it was wrong for the protesters that they were fighting and hurting the police and they 'shouldn't be proud of hurting the police' when they knew all along about this.

like man, i went silent because i know that she is a strong bjp supporter and i dont fw people like them. also i just feel that all her 'political opinions' are not her own but comes from watching others like reels or interviews. typical

but if i wanted to speak what should i have stated? want your opinions

Rant | Vent DRIVING INSTRUCTOR TOUCHING ME

Is it normal for a driving instructor to touch the forearm and thigh while teaching?

heyy guys, just wanted to clarify if it's normal for my driving instructor to come a lil (too) close and grip my hand under his on the gear stick and touch my thigh (briefly just to point which leg) while instructing. idk if I'm overthinking or it's fine.

im 22f and I had taken my younger brother along w me the initial few days and everything seemed normal. now when I'm going alone I'm observing these things and I feel extra alert and slightly uncomfortable. the instructor is middle aged idk how to feel. and don't wanna cause a ruckus at home as well.
