Look I’ll delete this whenever April post it themselves…but I woke up to find this on my feed and it made me almost weep.
This song used to kill me. When I was free, inside, and after being released. I’ve seen what happens when you throw urine in a wardens face Lol and also the dignity of refusing to submit.
To me it symbolizes the futility of words in a world that needs action. Whether it be the act of love, the act of mutual aid, or physical action. We have it within us, but it can’t stay there. It has to be shared
Enough of my emotional rant.

This isnt a song. But this music and story's like pat the bunny. Helps me realise I can do this.
And that authenticity and being fucked up are not the same thing.

Hey folk punk redditors! Dropping the flier for this sick south side Chicago folk punk show this weekend! It’s a double birthday show for our banjo player and tuba player(folk punk tuba?? 👀) hope to see y’all there! Will be super fun and the bill is super rad!

From what my little brother has told me, what differentiates folk punk from regular punk is that folk punk uses acoustic folk instruments while sticking to punk texts.
So what are punk songs generally about? Well, some examples are:
This is, of course, in stark difference from classic folk music which tends to cover subjects such as:
Unnecessary but frankly irresistible snark aside, what separates folk punk from regular folk music?
P.s. English isn’t my first language, so please bear that in mind.

My god if you haven’t seen Myles, do everything possible to make it happen.
I’ve seen them 5 times now and every single time it just gets better and better
No other artist causes such a visceral emotional response in me. His stories, lyrics, intensity, gentleness, visual, all of it.
I’ve never finished a show of his without crying
I’ve also included a brief video of our Pigeon doing a solo Rotten performance.
We are at an amazing amazing moment in folk punk

Well Day 3 ended and it was without a doubt a 10/10 festival. The organizers put in so much work that they deserve just all the love in the world. Keeping that shit together must be so exhausting.
Overall fantastic day. Myles performed and melted everyone’s heart and made me cry. Him and Ceschi doing Friends in Real Life was an unexpected highlight. Grinning Death continues to shock and awe Denver.
Crow Cavalier was stunning (which is typical). Hanging out with Chris Og from Troll2 was a delight, having Brooke Pridemoore do a free style song and it being awesome was great.
There was a singer (band) Chris (god I’m forgetting the name off the top of my head)… but they fucking smashed.‘astonishing performance. Had the whole gang on stage tell fuck the cops and fuck your gender binary. First time hearing them and wow.
Pigeon and I got to spend a lot of time together which is always amazing and getting to hangout with Ceschi on a comrade level was dope as shit
Best tho::we got another 59 letters sent to prisoners. That means over 170 over the weekend. Just unreal.

Recorded this months ago before my students were let out for Summer Break. I forgot to post but was really proud of how the cover came out. I hope y'all like it as much as I did covering it!
P.s. if you haven't given Trashbag Ponchos a listen they are FANTASTIC. I strongly recommend them to everyone I know that likes folk punk. (Which isn't many unfortunately haha)

This song is a story and like all bad stories, it doesn't get told in the order it should be. A non binary 10 year old whom I deeply care for drew the cover art for me at a show in Paris, Ontario earlier this year. One day this kid is gonna see a world that is better than the one our parents left us, and that only happens if we actively do it. Love and appreciate you all!

Holy shit what a day! Gotta start by repping the volunteers at 7th circle and the organizers. For real all of them give so much love and time to the community, it’s amazing
Today was brilliant. Open mic was very enjoyable as always, lots of good spirit.
The bands killed it. Frog Legs was amazing, Brook Pridemore did amazing and stopped by the abolition table which meant a lot. Grinning Death, Team Nonexistent, god and a handful of others just really showed up.
I got Dusty and Pigeon to swap boots which was fun, and got some solo concerts..there was some very unnecessary and annoying drama but that doesn’t take away from anything. so overall really amazing day.
Best tho; we got 57 more letters to prisoners written. That means over 100 so far in two days. Truly unreal.
Hope these reviews aren’t annoying. Just want to share the beauty of it.
Love and respect

Just looking to find new owners for a bunch of records. Still love the music, just don't really feel like a collector anymore.
Here are the few Folk Punk albums I have. I don't have prices for them, just throw me an offer.
EDIT: Please send me a DM! Thank you all for your interest!

See you soon :)
