Peak second-wave era. The guy with the mohawk and plaid pants is Dave Ferguson, a well-known fixture of the London scene back then. You can spot Exploited and Disorder patches on the jackets.

This one’s for the workers Dropkick Murphys shuttering webstore in solidarity with Kings Road Merch workers

Has anybody heard anything from other Kings Road bands like the Circle Jerks, Bad Religion, Descendents, Rancid, etc…?

DKM’s statement:

👊 We heard your requests !!

The DKM x KRM warehouse worker shirt is now available in unisex and KIDS SIZES !!

This design is available ONLY on the DKM US webstore.

🚨ICYM THE NEWS LAST WEEK… here’s the details 🚨

WE STAND WITH THE 👊 WORKERS 👊 at the Kings Road Merch warehouse !!

We’ve been with KRM for 15 years — and some of the warehouse team have packed our merch since day one.

It has been our hope that Teamsters Local 970 could help negotiate a settlement / agreement with KRM’s new owner Sony Music. That has not happened yet.

So while that remains in limbo, we are shutting down our webstore until further notice — in SOLIDARITY with the WORKERS.

WE WILL HOWEVER SELL ONE DKM x KRM UNION COLLAB SHIRT.

100% of proceeds will go to the KRM warehouse union workers. This will hopefully help raise awareness and put some extra money in the pockets of the workers and their families on behalf of Dropkick Murphys.

Discussion Punks looking for a career where you get to put your ideals into practice? Workplace Health and Safety

I see this asked every so often.

"How do I do a job without selling out?" I bounced around a lot and was even a military cop for a minute (I know. ACAB. But growing up in the broker parts of the Bay Area I took what I could get to escape) before finding what I wanted to do, and how to express myself and this is it.

I've spent the past 15 years working in occupational health and safety with the last 7 in Amazon. I spend all day spending Amazons money on forcing them into slowing down their profits and forcing them to treat their people better.

While sure lots of it is for litigations sake more than anything, you do spend the vast majority of the time just checking in on workers and making sure they got what they need to work safely. Sometimes it's just tools, sometimes an injury, accomodation to work within their limits, or helping get them therapy.

Just recently got to another site and joined in the weekly safety board meeting. It was clear the site lead wanted to use safety to come down and fire people. Thankfully HR Also picked up on this and together we were able to stop them from firing 4 people. Each week im sure we'll be doing the same until we get them to start acting right.

It's a richly rewarding job that actively fights against capitalism and since all physics can hurt all people, no one is really in charge.

Discussion Tips for improving stamina/speed/tightness for fast hardcore drumming

Upvotes

I’ve been playing the drums for probably over 2 years now and I like to play punk music. Im originally a guitar player so I understand that it requires a lot of stamina and solid rhythm to play this sort of thing. I have the basic fast beats down, I just struggle to keep it solid and in time. When I try to play along to bands like the Dead Kennedys and Green Day and Minor Threat, I notice that I can keep it solid for just a few seconds before I begin to tense up and get lost and the whole thing falls apart. What are some songs/exercises that I can try to improve my hi-hat and ride speed? Heres some of the songs i’ve been working and struggling with:

Betray - Minor Threat

Platypus (I hate you) - Green Day

Jaded - Green Day

Let’s Lynch The Landlord - Dead Kennedys

Rambozo The Clown - Dead Kennedys

Pipeline - Agent Orange

Local Artist Noizy Boys - Belarusian street-punk band

The band Noizy Boys is a street-punk collective from the Belarusian town of Shchuchyn. The official birthday of the band is considered to be October 25, 2008 — the day of the first rehearsal at the local rehearsal base "Kamora." From the very beginning, the musicians adhered to anti-racist and anti-fascist views, and their music is a mix of street punk and Oi! with simple riffs, loud sound, and socially conscious lyrics.

The first lineup of the band consisted of Kasper (guitar, vocals), Bot (bass), and Makar (drums). After intensive rehearsals, the band began playing concerts at "Kamora" together with the punk band "Razval Skhozhdenie." In autumn 2009, Noizy Boys recorded their first demo with the same name. However, soon after that, Bot was drafted into the army, and the band virtually ceased to exist for three months. In February 2010, Kasper assembled a new lineup: he remained on vocals and guitar, joined by Yurgen (bass) and Lyonik (drums). In summer 2010, this trio recorded an album, but tension was growing within the group. During work on new material, Lyonik deleted all recorded material from the computer one day, for which he was fired. He was replaced by an old friend of the band, Egor.

In early autumn 2012, the renewed lineup began recording the six‑song EP "Nikakikh Kompromissov!" (No Compromises!) on the label ULTRA PULTRA Records. Soon after the release of the EP, drummer Egor left the band and was replaced by Donya. With the renewed lineup, the band played concerts in Vilnius (Lithuania), Minsk, and Baranovichi. The first music video was also shot for the song "Opravdannaya nenavist", and the EP itself was released on CD by the Belarusian labels No Justice and Street Beat Records.

In 2013, the band celebrated its fifth anniversary. In early 2014, a split vinyl with the Polish punk band Anemia 77 was released. This was a collectible picture vinyl with a print run of 500 copies. The release was a joint effort by the labels Food Waste Records (England), No Pasaran Records and 83 Records (Poland), Street Beat Records and No Justice Records (Belarus). Noizy Boys presented three completely new songs on this split, one of which was in the Belarusian language. At the same time, the band had planned a video shoot and a joint mini‑tour with Anemia 77 through the cities of Belarus and Poland.

As for the lineup, drummers were indeed the weak point of the band. After Donya left in 2013 due to his involvement in other projects, the very first drummer Makar briefly returned to the band. Later, Egor took over the drums. At various times, Yurgen (bass) and Lyonik also played in the band.

The band's concert activity was quite active. Noizy Boys performed not only in their native Shchuchyn but also throughout Belarus, as well as in Bialystok, Warsaw (Poland), Vilnius (Lithuania), and Moscow (Russia). In one interview from 2013, the musicians noted that they had a solid core of friends who supported the band and traveled with them to concerts. According to them, a friendly family of skins, thrashcore fans, and punks had formed in Shchuchyn. Among the highlights, they mentioned the performance in Vilnius and some funny incidents at concerts, including attempts at attacks by boneheads.

The band's songs are available on all platforms.

Dazed article: Batcave x revived 80s goth brand

Upvotes

Dazed just wrote about the Batcave t-shirt (which Jon Klein from Specimen / Siouxsie and the Banshees designed with BOY London in 1983) being on sale again for the first time in decades, as part of a collaboration with a revived postpunk/fetish brand called Pure Sex England.

Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/DbGlNVqipHE/?img_index=1

Article: https://www.dazeddigital.com/fashion/article/70676/1/pure-sex-england-photos-relaunch-cult-80s-goth-brand-batcave-boy-london

Article excerpt:

At the Batcave in the 80s, no one knew what a goth was. “Boys just wore makeup because girls liked boys with makeup,” says Jon Klein, former Siouxsie and the Banshees guitarist and founder of the Batcave club night, Soho’s cobwebbed birthplace of the London goth. Four decades later, and the goth aesthetic still permeates culture: ‘whimsigoth’ has become a popular Vinted search word, Matières Fécales has climbed to the top of Paris Fashion Week, while a flourishing electroclash scene is populated by solid steel crucifixes.

Back in 1982, word of the Batcave tore through the squatting scene with macabre gusto, until Nick Cave, Robert Smith and the band Bauhaus were among its attendees. Soon, Klein was selling Batcave t-shirts designed with BOY London, the cult punk label founded in 1976. But when Klein opened the Batcave at a strip club and propped up a coffin for the door, he didn’t anticipate a petri dish that spawned a global aesthetic – he wanted a DIY hangout for his band Specimen to play on Wednesday nights and dress up. “Wearing black in bohemian poverty culture is an easy way to make everything match,” he recalls, now 66 years old.

Now, in 2026, the Batcave merch worn by the first-ever goths makes a comeback thanks to a collaboration with the 80s postpunk brand Pure Sex, which was revived this year after a three-decade hiatus.
