My father is turning 70 year old in a couple of weeks. His name is Greg. He is a recent cancer survivor (throat/lower tongue cancer, couldn’t eat, emaciated and almost passed away due to this). It was pure fight and determination to see him pull through from the brink. He has since recovered mostly albeit much weaker. He is grandfather to our 3 beautiful little girls, father to me and father in law to my wife. In addition to my brother.

Almost certain this won’t be able to be completed, but I’m giving it a shot anyway. My grandmother has been doing family history, and has become very interested in the story of her uncle, who fought for the British army in WW2 and was killed after falling into a river in Iraq in 1942 (he couldn’t swim). He’s buried at the Basra commonwealth war cemetery, which I believe has fallen into some amount of disrepair but the graves should still be preserved. He is located at Plot 7, Row C, Grave 11. If anyone could take a picture of his grave, that would be much appreciated. He’ll likely be buried as N.C Irvine.

My girlfriend always said she hated cheesy gifts. So for her birthday I wrote a custom Portuguese pop song with her name + our story. Used some AI tools for the male vocals.

I'm 16 years old boy and I have a very strong insecurity about my pronunciation that I've been carrying since the pandemic due to the lack of communication I had with anyone outside my family.

I've developed bad speech habits, such as clenching my teeth when I speak, or especially my silly attempts to pronounce syllables like "tra, tre, tri, tro, tru," resulting in me saying "tLa, tLe, tLi, tLo, tLu."

The same thing happens with the vowels "la, le, li, lo, and lu," pronouncing them "ll" or "y" instead of just "L."

I really want to change that and I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced or is experiencing this, to get an idea of what exercises or practices I can do, please. ;/

Hi everyone! My friend and I are in our final year and working on a pronunciation course. We’ve spent hundreds of hours creating materials, recording narration, editing, producing everything ourselves from scratch.

The problem is… we both have braces.

After several recording attempts, we realized metal wires (and misaligned teeth) are not exactly ideal for close-up articulation shots.. 😞 They are simply too visually distracting during detailed pronunciation demonstrations, where you really need the viewer's focus strictly on tongue and lip placement.

So honestly, we’re looking for someone willing to volunteer for the visual articulation part.

We just need someone with 5-10 minutes and a phone/camera to record ONLY their mouth (no face, completely anonymous) while pronouncing around 30 sounds.

Your native language doesn't matter, and you don’t even need to make a sound, you only need to mimic the mouth movements) because we already have the audio recorded. We only need the visual mouth / lip positioning for the sounds. We will provide full instructions beforehand and share the final result with the voice-over.
