NEVER PAY WITHOUT SEEING YOUR CONTRACT!

Hey everyone,
I’m currently applying for an Erasmus+ exchange program to Germany. I am scheduled to leave at the end of February for the upcoming semester, but I have a major timeline conflict with my language certificate.
I have already passed 3 out of 4 modules for my B1 German certificate DaF , but I need to retake the(listening) module. I am sitting for this retake exam in January, but the official results and the finalized certificate will not be released until February.
My home university coordinator told me that they do not care about the certificate for the internal selection phase, as they look mostly at GPA for nominations. However, looking at the host partner universities in Germany, they all strictly list a B1 German certificate as a mandatory requirement on their websites.

Because the host university portal requires document uploads well before my January exam results actually drop, I am stressed about the timeline. I will literally be getting my passing results in February and trying to leave at the end of that same month.
Has anyone been in a similar situation where your language certificate wasn't ready until the exact month of departure?

Will the German host university automatically reject my application if the certificate is missing during the initial portal phase?

Is it common for universities to issue a Conditional Admission that allows you to upload the passing certificate in February?

Français en bas hi, I'm supposed to go for Erasmus for the year 2026-2027 in Italy (registered in a Franch university) but i'm facing paper issues. first question do i neeed a visa for Italy (Non UE students) ? i haave heard about Titre de séjour avec mention "programme de mobilité" that would allow to go to Italy freely without VISA. Is that true? I've apply to the standard titre de séjour renewal - still processing; do we have a specific application

Courses start in september my current VLS-TS expires on 30/08.

Hi, I am a Finance and Accounting student from Hungary and plan to do Erasmus in 2027/28 fall/winter and I want to plan ahead as to which destination I should be going to.

So far, I've currently found (amongst the exchange possibilities my faculty has)

- MRU, Vilnius

- University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague

- University of Passau (or some other German uni, I've also thought of Leipzig)

These three would be my main options, but I don't know which one I should put first.

I'd like to know if you have any experience with the unis and cities I mentioned, or whether you have any other recommendation.

I only want to go to a university where accommodation for exchange students is either guaranteed or very likely, and not very expensive (under €500), so I want to rule out any unis where I'd have to find a flat myself.

I speak English C1 and German B1-2, although I'm unsure if my German knowledge would be enough to take up courses in German. That's also why I don't really want to go to Spain/France/Italy, since AFAIK a lot of courses there are only available in the native language (but I might be wrong).

​My sister's currently in Greece for a summer Erasmus+ traineeship (grant-free) in a hotel.

Yesterday, at her 2nd week, the host organisation unexpectedly terminated her internship. Their justification was simply they "realised they need more experienced staff."

It has been extremely painful for her as she/we spent a huge amount of time, effort and money to make this happen. Preparing the paperwork took months. Because she needed a visa, we went through a long, stressful, and expensive application process. And I'm not even mentioning flight tickets, insurance, preparations etc.

Before the arrival, the hotel management signed the Learning Agreement and when my sister arrived, they also signed the Confirmation of Arrival.

She is now searching for new placement in Crete so that all she's done so far doesn't go to waste. We really want to understand her rights.

◽ ​Is the Learning Agreement legally binding for the host company? Can a host employer legally terminate an Erasmus trainee on the grounds of "inexperience" when they willingly signed an agreement knowing she is a student?

◽​Should we report this company? Is there an official channel to report this host organisation for unfair treatment and breach of commitment?

◽​What steps should we take next besides applying for new jobs?

​Has anyone been through a similar situation, and how did you handle it?

Any advice, legal insights, or support on how to handle this with the Erasmus authorities would mean the world to me right now.

I'm an Erasmus exchange student and I'll be studying at the University of Maribor from October 2026 until February 2027. This will be my first time living in Slovenia, so I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have studied or lived in Maribor.

I have quite a few questions:

• Is it better to stay in the university dormitories or rent a private room?
• If you stayed in the dorms, how were the shared bathrooms and kitchens? Were they clean?
• Did staying in the dorms make it easier to meet other Erasmus students?
• How expensive is Maribor for a student? (Groceries, coffee, eating out, public transport, etc.)
• Are the student meal coupons really as good as everyone says? How do they work?
• How active is ESN Maribor? Do they organize many trips and events?
• What's the nightlife like? Any bars or clubs you'd recommend?
• Any places around Maribor that I definitely shouldn't miss?
• Are there any student gyms or sports clubs you'd recommend?
• Is there anything you wish you had known before moving to Maribor?

I'm currently looking for accommodation and I'd really appreciate some advice from people who have studied or lived in Coimbra.

• How early did you start looking for accommodation?
• Where did you end up finding your room (Facebook, Idealista, Uniplaces, university housing, etc.)?
• Which neighborhoods would you recommend for an Erasmus student?
• Are there any areas I should avoid?
• Is it better to stay closer to the university or closer to the city center?
• What are some common mistakes or scams I should watch out for when renting a room?
• Is there anything you wish you had known before moving to Coimbra?

Hey, I'm interested in knowing about some stuff to know for someone looking to study there for a semester or year.

I've been many times, I have family in Rome and the rest of Italy as despite living outside of Italy, being born in Italy. I know my uni and my masters program in history allows me to study there, so I'm just asking you all who studied there what to expect when it comes to living as a student, in terms of housing, etc...

Hell, even tips and anecdotes in general would be really appreciated and I'd enjoy hearing them!

I'm not someone who's particularly fond of cities, but Rome is basically the only city I actually like and enjoy being in! I know I'll have a support network when it comes to being there, so that's one less thing to worry about!

I study in Pisa and I'm going to erasmus to TUM in Munich, the university proposed me a room exchange with another student and my owner if fine with it as long as I keep paying him, while subletting is against the contract. The best way to do it for me would be he keeps paying in Germany and I pay in Italy. I think more or less the cost is the same for us. Is it possible to do this?

I'll be moving to Madrid at the end of next month to start an internship until December, and still having no luck finding a place to stay. Anyone have any recommendations? What worked for you guys?

I'm currently in my final year of bachelor's in Economics at a govt college in India. Nothing to my credentials except a decent cgpa of 8.75/10 and a summer internship certificate. No research papers, works or other experiences.

I'm considering applying to European Envtal Policy and QEM. So whaddya think? Is it too late or do I still stand a chance and shud build up my CV??

I'm lost as to how I will get a visa for my Erasmus semester stay. For context, I'm a polish student and my receiving university is in Germany. It feels like reserving a visit is hiiiighly competitive here. You don't only have polish people booking a visit, but also Ukrainians, because theirs is closed during war I think. I check, but there are never any free dates. I'm confused as to what I'm supposed to do. No dates for summer. Will there be any for September? I don't know, but I need my visa in September/October. It's harder than I thought...

I'm reaching out on behalf of Association On My Way, a youth association based in Spain. Our partner in Lithuania is currently having some trouble finding participants for an upcoming project, so I thought I would post here to see if anyone is interested. We are organizing an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange.

The project is a 7-day exchange focusing on mental health, wellbeing, stress, burnout, and work-life balance. We are looking for young people aged 18 to 30 from Lithuania, working or studying in healthcare, social care, psychology, physiotherapy, aged-care, community support, or similar fields.

The dates are: September 10th to 17th, 2026 in Galicia (beautiful, green region in the north of Spain). The accommodation will be in a campsite.

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ program. Travel reimbursements for Lithuanian participants cover up to 370€.
