Household BEWARE: DO NOT PURCHASE Hotel Collection / Aroma 360 -(Fragrances / Diffusers)

My wife purchased a fragrance diffuser and a fragrance online. The next day she was called by a salesperson who identified himself as Hotel Collection/ Aroma 360. He began asking her questions about our home, square footage, etc. in order to try and upsell. My wife became uncomfortable with this, and firmly said that she wanted the products she ordered, and nothing more. The sales person said he'd put the order on hold until they could discuss further.

At this point, my wife loops me in, and I reach out to simply say we're not interested in any additonal products, and to please ship what we purchased. The scummy sales person, who identified himself as, Dennis, begins rattling off objections, asking me to explain my logic of not taking advantage of their deal, etc.

With nothing esle to be said, I responded:

"Sir this is a diffuser and fragrence. This isn't car sales. I don't have to explain anything to you regarding the purpose of my order. Ship what I ordered, or cancel the order. I have no obligation to discuss my residence, or any information with you."

He then says he does not have the ability to cancel on his end. The last thing I got out was:

"If this isn't resolved by the end of this call, I will have this disputed with American Express within the next 5 minutes." He responded "Thank you sir, and have a great day!" *click*

I filed a FTC complaint (reportfraud.ftc.gov). Pushy sales people are one thing, but literally holding my order hostage and saying you can't cancel it is another.

I'm still laughing at the urgency and seriousness in which this guy was trying to upsell diffuser fragrances.

Do not purchase from these companies. I'm reporting them in just about every possible way I can so that nobody else has to go through this.

Anyone have tips for picking a good outdoor TV that actually lasts?

Hey everyone, I'm setting up a patio area and want to get a TV that can handle being outside year round. Rain, sun, dust, all that stuff. What should I actually look for? Is weatherproofing as good as they claim or do they still need covers?

Any experiences with glare in bright daylight or how the picture holds up over time? Budget is around $800-1200. I'm looking at the ByteFree BF-55ODTV right now since it checks a lot of boxes (1500 nits, Dolby Vision/Atmos, Google TV, IP55). Would love real user feedback, thanks!

Household trying to build an unwind spot in a tiny living room without it looking like a spaceship landed

Post image
2 Upvotes

my living room is pretty cramped and i’m desperately trying to decide between getting a decent massage chair or just sticking to a regular recliner.

i just want a comfortable spot to come home and decompress for like 20 minutes after sitting at my desk all day. a regular recliner seems like the safer, simpler choice. it actually fits the room and i know i'll sit in it every day. but every time my back aches, the thought of a massage chair pulls me right back in.

my main issue is that most of them look like massive, ugly plastic pods. what’s more, they are completely devoid of any aesthetic appeal;plus, half the people i’ve talked to said theirs eventually just became an expensive coat rack to throw laundry on.

i did see some of those mid-range modern ones online—like the nouhaus classic—that look more like normal furniture, judging from the images on the official website, it perfectly fits the minimalist, high-end and sophisticated vibe.and have a way smaller footprint. but since i can't test one locally, i'm skeptical. does a slim-profile chair actually give a decent massage, or are they just glorified vibrations?

idk if i should just get a comfortable la-z-boy, strap a shiatsu pad to it, and call it a day, or actually risk the space for something with built-in rollers.

I discovered how bad Swiggy's customer support really is

I was a Swiggy One member and received a 3-month Spotify Premium coupon as one of the membership perks.

The problem? The coupon was invalid from day one.

I reported it to Swiggy on 24 June, expecting it to be a simple issue. Instead, it turned into almost a month of emails, follow-ups, and automated replies. I sent more than 10 emails, never received a complaint number, was never connected to a real support agent, and every reply was just "we've escalated your issue" or "we'll get back to you in 24-48 hours."

After a whole month of this, I somehow managed to reach a live agent through an unrelated support category in the app because there was literally no way to chat with a human for this issue.

Even the escalation team eventually told me they were unable to provide any resolution and asked me to... email support again. 🤦‍♂️

The funniest part is that the coupon is still visible in my Swiggy account, but when I redeem it on Spotify, it's invalid. Spotify Support confirmed that only Swiggy can issue a replacement, but Swiggy kept sending me in circles until the coupon was about to expire.

Honestly, this isn't even about the ₹199/month Spotify subscription anymore. I had already renewed my own Premium. I just thought, "Nice, I won't have to pay for the next 3 months."

What shocked me was how a company as big as Swiggy can have customer support this bad. I paid for Swiggy One, which is supposed to be their premium membership.

Turns out **I got both premium benefits and premium customer support**... meaning an exclusive coupon that didn't work and exclusive access to automated replies. 😂

I've now filed a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline because after almost a month, I genuinely ran out of options.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with Swiggy support?

What happens to unused botox units if MedSpa closes?

I'm considering buying a year's worth of Botox from my local MedSpa because they’re offering a package deal. However, it’s their only NYC location and it never seems very busy when I’m there, so I’m a little concerned about the possibility of them closing.

If I purchase the package and the MedSpa shuts down before I use all of my Botox units, what typically happens to the money I paid? Would I have any recourse, or is it just a risk with prepaid aesthetic treatments?

Has anyone experienced this with a MedSpa or similar business?

Feel free to make fun of getting botox lol

My Eureka Forbes purchase turned into a masterclass in misinformation.

I wanted to share my recent experience with Eureka Forbes and get advice on what my next step should be.

On 15 July, I ordered:

  • Forbes SmartClean PRO S2
  • Forbes Swift Clean Vacuum Cleaner

The sales representative assured me that billing would happen immediately and the products would be delivered on 16th or 17th July.

When nothing arrived, I contacted him on the 17th. He said there was a software issue preventing orders from being processed. It didn't sound convincing, so I asked for his manager's number.

The manager gave a completely different explanation, saying there was a warehouse issue and promised delivery by Monday (20th July). When I asked why I hadn't received an invoice, he said it would come with the product.

On Monday, there was still no invoice or tracking details. The manager then claimed the order had already been shipped and would be delivered by 4 PM or Tuesday morning. When I asked for the tracking number, he said it was "confidential." I've never heard of shipment tracking being confidential.

On Tuesday, the manager stopped answering my calls. Later, an unknown person called claiming to be the delivery executive and promised delivery by 8 PM but couldn't provide any tracking information. Unsurprisingly, no delivery happened.

Finally, on Wednesday, I contacted Eureka Forbes customer care. Only after escalating did they generate an invoice.

To my surprise, the invoice was for a Forbes Jazz vacuum cleaner instead of the Swift Clean model that I had ordered.

When I questioned the salesperson:

  • First, he admitted it was billed incorrectly and asked me to accept it, offering some freebies.
  • Later, he changed his version and said the company had instructed them to replace all Swift Clean orders with the Jazz model because the Swift Clean was unavailable across India.

I repeatedly asked them to cancel my order, but they have refused.

At this point, I feel I've been given different explanations at every stage:

  • Software issue
  • Warehouse issue
  • Product already shipped
  • Tracking is confidential
  • Wrong billing by mistake
  • Company-wide replacement policy

Has anyone experienced something similar with Eureka Forbes Offline Purchase?

What would you do in this situation? Is filing a complaint with the Consumer Commission enough, or should I also report the matter through the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930) if I believe I was intentionally misled throughout the purchase process?

Any suggestions or similar experiences would be appreciated.

Health How The Edge Fitness Clubs turned an 'info call' into $360 in unauthorized charges without my signature

Hey everyone,

I’m posting this to warn people about the shady billing practices at **The Edge Fitness Clubs**.

It all started with an informational call where the manager was just explaining their personal training services to me. Somehow, they turned that simple phone conversation into an "authorization" to start charging my account.

Here is the catch: **I never signed a contract.** There is literally no signed agreement authorizing these charges.
Yet, they went ahead and billed me a total of **$360** for personal training sessions I never ordered, signed up for, or received.

When I brought this to their attention and demanded a full refund for services never rendered, they refused to issue it. Seeing that management wasn't going to fix their mistake, I filed a chargeback with my bank for unauthorized billing.
The worst part? The Edge Fitness Clubs actually **disputed the bank claim**. Their argument was that I "failed to follow their official cancellation policy"—which makes zero sense considering I never signed a contract or agreed to their terms in the first place. How can you hold someone to a cancellation policy for a contract that doesn't exist?

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of unapproved billing with them? How did you get your money back when management refuses to cooperate?

Carrier customer service is pathetic

On 12th July, we contacted Carrier customer service because our air conditioner was not working. A service engineer visited the next day, inspected the unit, and informed us that the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) was faulty. He told us that he would return on 20th July with the replacement PCB.
On 20th July, we repeatedly tried to contact the service engineer, but he did not answer our calls. In the evening, we contacted Carrier customer care and requested that the issue be escalated. We were assured that the complaint had been escalated and that the problem would be resolved by the next morning.
Despite this assurance, the service engineer continued to ignore our calls. At around 7:30 PM, two technicians visited our home and claimed that the PCB they had was not compatible with our AC. However, it appeared that they did not have any replacement PCB with them. They then promised to return on 22nd July at 10:00 AM.
Today is 22nd July, and they have still not arrived. They are also not answering our phone calls. We are extremely disappointed with the poor service and the lack of communication. This delay has caused us significant inconvenience, and we request that this issue be resolved immediately.

what i wish i knew before switching to a mesh office chair for WFH

finally bit the bullet and upgraded my home office setup. my old fake leather executive chair was peeling everywhere and left my back drenched in sweat after an 8-hour workday. everyone online said mesh is the way to go for WFH, so i switched. it definitley fixed the sweating issue. but man, there are some things i really wish i knew before making the jump. first off, the hard plastic frame around the mesh seat. if i shift my weight or sit slightly off-center, the edges dig right into the back of my thighs. i used to tuck one leg under me while reading emails, absolutely impossible on this mesh seat without cutting off circulation. then theres the temperature thing. everyone talks about mesh breathability for summer, but nobody mentioned how freezing cold it gets in an air-conditioned room or during winter. my old padded leather chair was actually cozy. the return window closes next friday so i need to figure out if this specific mesh vs leather chair tradeoff is just part of getting a new chair, or if i should just send it back. i know nouhaus makes a leather-look option called the Posture with flip-up arms that might fix the hard edge problem, but does fake leather always peel after a year?

GoMechanic: App Shows One Price, Service Team Quotes Another

Thumbnail

I booked a battery replacement through GoMechanic because the app clearly showed a total price of ₹6,833. However, after booking, the service executive informed me over WhatsApp that the price shown in the app was "old" and quoted ₹8,200 instead.

If the app cannot display the correct and updated price, what's the point of showing prices at all? Customers make booking decisions based on the information provided in the app. Changing the price after the booking is misleading and wastes customers' time.

Please keep your app updated with real-time pricing instead of expecting customers to accept a higher price later. Accurate pricing and transparency are basic expectations from a service platform. This experience with GoMechanic was disappointing.

My experience with Sanat Kitchenware Pvt Ltd: Sudden supply discontinuation without Prior Notice

We recently started sourcing lunch boxes from Sanat Kitchenware Pvt Ltd, owned by Mr Sanat Babubhai Pansuriya. The company also sells its own products on Amazon and other online marketplaces.

Initially, our business relationship was smooth, and we were optimistic about building a long-term partnership. However, after some of the products we sourced from them began performing better than their own listing on Amazon, the company stopped supplying those products to us without any prior notice or transition period.

This unexpected decision had a significant impact on our business, including
Sudden stock shortages
Loss of Sales and revenue
Wasted advertising investment on Amazon
Difficulty fulfilling customer demand
Negative impact on our marketplace performance

What disappointed us the most was the lack of advance communication. If we had been informed a few weeks in advance, we could have arranged an alternative supplier and minimised the losses.

In our experience, every supplier has the right to make business decisions, including discontinuing supplies. However, professional business relationships require transparent communication and reasonable notice so that partners are not left with unexpected disruption.

This article reflects our genuine business experience with Sanat Kitchenware Pvt. Ltd. and is shared to help other businesses understand the importance of evaluating supplier reliability and communication before building long-term marketplace operations around a single supplier

Household buying a chair online blind? What specs should I actually be looking out for?

been going back and forth on mesh vs leather for wfh long hours. buying online blind is a nightmare since you cant sit in it first, and returning a massive box sucks. here is what im checking before i pull the trigger:

breathability: mesh wins if your room runs warm. fake leather will make you sweat after a few hours.

durability: cheap mesh sags. cheap faux leather peels. look at reviews past the 1-year mark.

seat feel: full mesh has no give if you sit cross-legged. padded leather or foam is better for shifting around.

return policies: some places charge insane return shipping. mid-range brands like nouhaus or branch usually have decent return windows, but you always have to read the fine print to see if they actually cover the freight.

dimensions: check seat depth and armrest width. a lot of chairs are too deep for average builds.

i'm still leaning towards mesh right now, probably something like the nouhaus ergo3d since the back airflow seems legit, but i'm still kinda worried about the mesh stretching out over time.

Buying a chair blind feels like it mostly boils down to luck.

studio is tiny, no room for two chairs. need one that handles typing and watching shows

Post image
1 Upvotes

30sqm studio man, desk is just in the corner. cant fit two chairs. i work 7-8h then usually stay put to watch shows or game a bit. this chair is fine when im sitting straight but the second i lean back the lumbar support is just gone fr.

Just want something that doesnt disappear the second im not sitting perfectly straight. saw the lavenne r9 pro on youtube where the back support is supposed to move with you instead of only working upright. kinda skeptical about electronics in a chair tbh, but the idea fits my situation.

It is already up on kickstarter, and if the support actually works the way they are showing, i would honestly consider backing it. what do you guys think? has anyone tried a chair that actually supports you both sitting straight and leaning back?

How Tata's BigBasket uses a 'Kapture CRM Bot' to scam customers & auto-close tickets (Video Proof inside). I am a 10th Grader taking them to Consumer Court.

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

"customer obsession," but BigBasket is running a systematic dark pattern. They ran a "Buy 1 Get 1" offer, took my money, delivered half the items, and manipulated the backend to show the free item as "Out of Stock."

When I asked for a refund, their Kapture CRM bot trapped me in a 45-day loop, sending 90+ irrelevant automated emails with fake invoices to exhaust me.

I am in 10th grade. Instead of preparing for my boards, I had to draft legal notices and file a formal case in the Gurugram Consumer Court (DC/62/CC/772/2026). They even put a firewall block on my emails to their executives.

Here is the live screen-recording of their bot loop: [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HSJYmkrcEhjfppzMV5II8JcnvS2G3mW0/view?usp=drivesdk\]

Is this the standard Tata group ethics now? Hiding behind bots to steal ₹64, which escalated to a ₹30k legal lawsuit?

Laptops Argos confiscated return item without refund

I took a Chromebook to Argos today to return it. I already had a return barcode. The manager said it fell outside the returns policy, and because I refused to then let him scan the return barcode and void it, he confiscated it!

I have been struggling to get through to the head office about this man's behaviour. And to be honest he seemed to smell of alcohol also.

I am fairly certain under consumer law this counts as unlawful.

What should I do? I have tried to go back and speak with him, and I have tried to call HQ, but struggling to know the number.-and going around in circles- one of the call helpers, just rang the store where they reinformed me to go back with the barcode. I even rang the police- but they said it was a civil matter.

Have put in a complaint, and waiting to hear back- but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this type of behaviour?

I don't want to let him scan the barcode, as he was rude, aggressive and mean- and this would mean he has "won". He was horrible from the moment I put the laptop down tbh. I just don't see how they can keep goods that I have paid for, if I say I want them back.

Need Advice on the incidence

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I wanted to get some opinions on an incident that happened to me recently at a Cult Fitness gym in India.Like many members at this gym, I kept my phone in the common corner where people routinely place their phones, water bottles and other personal belongings while working out and then I went for my warm ups. This isn't something unique to members continue to use this same spot every day, and there are no visible signs or instructions telling people not to keep their phones there. The corner is located next to a squat rack.During that time workout, another member was using the squat rack when a weight plate somehow came off/fell from the rack area and landed on my phone, causing significant physical damage.I couldn't see that as I was at a different corner doing warmup and stuff

I immediately informed the gym staff, and they acknowledged the incident. I requested that the CCTV footage be preserved because I wanted the incident to be investigated properly.

Since then:

I reported the incident to Cult through email.

I have spoken to the Centre Manager.

I contacted Cult Support through live chat and was assigned a case number.

Despite all this, I have received no meaningful update regarding the investigation.

What disappointed me even more was my conversation with the Centre Manager. Before the CCTV footage had even been reviewed, I was told that it was "my responsibility" because I had kept my phone there. That day I didn't said anything and went to get my phone repaired and all but there's a thing that's been making me feel guilty about is that I have not taken stand for myself and why should I pay for the loss when it didn't happened bcs of my mistake someone should be held accountable

Has anyone dealt with something similar with Cult Fitness or another gym?

From a consumer rights perspective in India, what would you do next if the company continues to delay responding?.. I want to put pictures but since community guidelines don't allow so I can't 🥲
