Does anyone know why some c5x have black wheels? As standard they all have the silver/black clips which go over the wheels, are they black alloys underneath?

My car has been sitting in the garage for about 6 months without being started. As expected, the battery is completely dead and needs to be replaced.

The old original battery is a VARTA 12V 60Ah 680A (EN) with a Start-Stop system. It has "EF" printed on it, so I assume it's an EFB. I've searched online but haven't been able to find an identical one with the exact same specs.

I am currently looking at two options online and would love some technical advice:

1.Varta AGM (60Ah 680A) for about €130

2.Varta EFB (60Ah 640A) for about €103 (the CCA/cranking amps is lower than the original)

Here are my questions:

Does it make sense to spend €30 more to upgrade to AGM, or is it fine to stay with EFB even though the cranking amps (640A) is slightly lower than the factory spec (680A) for the Start-Stop system?

The most important question: Is a BMS (Battery Management System) reset/reprogramming via OBD absolutely mandatory? Since the car has been sitting for 6 months, some people tell me that without a reset, the alternator will charge the new battery using the old battery's profile (which will ruin it), while others say I can just install it and the car will adapt automatically after driving a bit. What is the technical truth here?

There is a lot of green corrosion on the positive terminal (on the left). Is it enough to clean it with hot water and a wire brush before installing the new one, or do I need a specific chemical product?

(Optional, if you want local recommendations): By the way, I'm currently located in Prato, Italy. If anyone happens to know an honest local mechanic or auto electrician who offers a mobile jump-start service to get the car to the shop, please let me know.

I’m sure this topic has been done to death but last weekend my brakes failed because of Wet Belt. It’s insane that the noise isn’t louder about this. Is there a class action suit in progress? Sounds to me that Citroen is completely hands off in their support? This surely can’t be acceptable legally or morally? I would be interested of anyone who has taken action as a result of this? #citroen #wetbelt #puretech

One of the best cars I've ever owned

I want to upgrade from my diesel mk1 208. I know a bunch of stuff about the PSA/Stellantis family.

Looking for an upgrade to either DS7 (1.6 or 2.0 if i find any), SQ2/T-Roc R or (budget option) Megane GT. Willing to trade sportiness for the DS7 as it was one of my favorite cars design-wise ever and it has much more options for the money. Mostly in need of a petrol car as I don't use the car very much anymore and to stop stressing about diesel filters and adblue.

Besides the fact that I know about the gti 1.6 engines and troubles of 1.2; 1.5 bluehdi chain; idk much about the 1.6 engines (both hybrid and normal) of DS7
Is this engine enough for this big car? How reliable is the car overall? (electronics, engine, sensors etc.)

Je prefere poser la question au collectif de ce subreddit avant de me lancer avec des recherches de pannes multiples et onéreuses

Ma C3 (1ere immatriculation en 2013) achetee d’occasion en 2024 me fait regulièrement cette panne où, en pleine accélération, elle coupe l’accélérateur et affiche immédiatement le voyant moteur, avec “défaut moteur” affiché sur l’ordinateur de bord/GPS.
Quand je m’arrête et coupe le contact, le ventilateur moteur souffle fortement pendant environ 5 minutes avant que tout revienne a la normale. Quand je redemarre, l’accelerateur revient, et je peux repartir. Le voyant part tout seul lors du 3 eme demarrage apres la panne (je ne demarre pas 3 fois d’affilee, c’est dans les jours suivants).

J’ai eu ca suffisamment souvent pour faire des tests: le moteur tourne, donc la voiture est mobile pour peu qu’on roule a l’embrayage.
J’ai eu plusieurs fois la panne ce matin, donc pour voir, j’ai passé de la 1ère vitesse a la 3ème : panne immédiate.
Ca m’est arrivé une fois sur l’autoroute l’année dernière, et 3 fois rien que ce matin (je l’ai remise a sa place, je ne l’utiliserai plus cette semaine).
A noter que j’ai changé la batterie le mois dernier (l’ancienne etait peut etre d’origine, 13 ans de service!). L’ancienne etait a 640A de tension, la nouvelle 540 puisque je n’en ai pas trouvé à cette meme tension. Elle a été très fiable depuis jusqu’a aujourd’hui, maintenant que les temperatures sont plus douces.

Si cela vous est arrivé ou que vous en savez quoi que ce soit, je suis preneur! J’ai acheté cette C3 pour changer d’une ancienne voiture ou j’ai englouti 3000 euros de reparations, je ne peux pas me le permettre une seconde fois.

I want to ask the following to the collective mind of Reddit before engaging in actual search for what’s breaking down in the car and paying huge amounts of money I don’t have.

My C3 (first licensed in 2013) that I bought second-hand in 2024 has this issue where, in the middle of acceleration, it will stop doing so, immediately flash the engine LED, and display “engine issue” on the GPS screen. When I stop and turn off the engine, the engine fan keeps blowing strong for roughly 5 minutes, before everything returns to normal. I can start again, and the accelerator is back online. The LED turns off on its own on the third engine start after that, in the following days.

I’ve had this issue often enough to make a few tests. The engine is running, so the car is mobile, if you drive only with the clutch pedal.
I’ve had the problem 3 times this morning alone, so I tried something. Going from 1st to 3rd gear without going through second makes the issue immediate.
I’ve had this happen once on the highway last year, too. I’m probably not driving it again this week.
A thing of note is I swapped batteries last month: old one might be the constructor battery (13 years in service!). The old one had 640A for tension, the new one is 540A, since I wasn’t able to find one for 640, if that’s of any use. The car’s been very reliable since, until today , now that french weather is back to normalcy after serious heat waves.

If this has happened to you or if you know anything about it, I’d love to read about it. I’ve bought this car to change from an older one that cost me
3k € in repairs, and I don’t have that kind of money right now.

J'ai changement mon filtre à air sur mon 1.6ehdi 112cv de 2012.

Néanmoins (ça pouvait pas bien se passer), après démarrage et roulage :

- Moteur plus bruyant (plus bourdonnant)
- Bruit d'admission à l'accélération et a la décélération (2 secondes environ à la desceleration)
- Concernant la puissance, trop tot pour en juger.

Donc je me demande si y'a pas une prise d'air pourtant j'ai bien fait attention mais là ça me semble un peu trop le bruit de l'admission.

L'ancien filtre était sale donc je sais qu'un neuf peut changer la tonalité...

Au ralentie aucun bruit de soufflement, et ralentie inchangé. J'ai pas fait attention à si ma conso avec changé pour compensé un manque d'O2 dans les cyclindres.

Après lol c'est très plaisant comme sonorité on dirait un gros diesel BMW style M57 sur les 535d...

Je vais devoir me séparer à contrecœur de la fidèle Yaris, qui a rendu l'âme sur les routes irlandaises.

Je n'en ai pas un besoin impérieux : j'ai un vélo, je travaille a 5km de chez moi, et ma femme a notre deuxième voiture qui servira pour les courses et les trajets longs.

En revanche j'ai une ado et une jeune adulte à la maison, je me pose donc là question d'une AMI en appoint. Nous habitons en ville et le travail/lycée/activité desnuns et des autres imposent de fréquents courts déplacements.

Je sais déjà que le confort y est spartiate.

Je cherche avant tout à avoir le moins de soucis possibles. Pouvez vous me donner un retour honnête sur la fiabilité du bazar dans sa dernière version ?

Précision : il y a un concessionnaire Citroën dans ma ville.

Is it normal for a 2023 C5 mild hybrid to constantly charge at 15 volts? The original battery has already been replaced; it had failed. The garage insists that a constant 15 volts is normal.

Je contrôle le filtre habitacle. Il est tout tordu. Soit mal monté (après mars 2025 mois de fabrication), soit ... Des bestioles peuvent elles descendre jusque là mettre le bazard depuis la baie de pare brise?

Le tuyau de condensat était plié a mon avis, il y avait un point bas. J'ai remis propre. A pu causer le vidage vers le siège.a suivre... On voir que le tapis est mouillé, flèche bleu. L'eau peut elle provenir d'ailleurs?

A noter le filtre bas un peu humide a droite. Cause probable?

J'ai contrôlé la baie de pare brise. Bingo, une feutrine complément décomposée sert de nid a des rongeurs type souris. Je le trouve pas de ref de filtre sous pare brise. Il y en a 1 normalement ? Le nid, c'est un ancien filtre où il y a un filtre sous la baie de pare brise également qui s'est fait bouffer? Connaissez vous la ref de la feutrine sous pare-brise?

Quelle technique pour être sûr de faire dégager tout le monde sans avoir des souris crevées dans les tubes d'aspi la clim?

I bought two C4 Picasso, but another one got engine failure (Exclusive with amplifier, rear Park sensor, Leather seats etc. Almost all options that was selectable on brand new)

Just wondering can I install exclusive parts directly on that Standard vision?

- Radio (i think its the same as standard) + bass speaker + amplifier in the boot on right hand side.

- Leather (electric) seats + interior was thinking just change whole Doors.

- multicolor (C-type) Instrument cluster

- rear bumber (parking sensors) and tow bar.

What ecus do i need to get all working.?

I have a 2013 ds3 and it has a knock going over uneven roads on the front passenger side the drop link has been changed and the wishbone and track rod end are ok anyone have any more ideas please

have they fixed many of the problems or should i not risk it?

Thinking of buying a 2005 Citroen C5 2.0 HDI 138 hp second-hand for €2200.

Mileage: 202,000 km

Work done: Timing belt replaced at 160,000 km, water pump replaced at the same time, automatic gearbox oil changed at 175,000 km.

We just need it to get around in France, nothing special, and we're on such a tight budget. Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences with this car? TIA.

I have a 2007 C2 SX, it’s my first car. I’m trying to replace my 12v socket as it no longer works. I took it halfords to check the fuses and they said the fuses are fine… but upon leaving them i think they’ve blown my radio fuse as my radio no longer works.

Does anyone have any idea how easy it is to swap the 12v socket in my c2 and how, if i need to, to take out the centre console where it is located?
