/u/ZeroOne_01 set up a Peugeot discord server which is relatively active. They have experience with servicing Peugeots and Citroens and may be able to answer any technical questions you have.

I've had to make this new post as you can't sticky links.

3 cylinder PSA engines (EB series) warranty (Oiled belt) UPDATE

Hi everyone! On the Spanish CarWOW channel they just broke news about a new warranty extension to all 3 cylinder petrol PSA Puretech engines, the ones with the oiled belt decomposition issues. They'll be extending the warranty to 10 years or 170k km as long as you have done the service intervals in time (and can prove it with invoices and such) without the need to had have them done at the official dealership as it is illegal under EU law to do so in order to void warranties.

The video specifies that the engine will be covered for that amount, as well as a new change for the service interval of the belt. Also, it only affects the 3 cylinder variants, and will be retroactive, with the last engine covered being from summer 2022, when hybrid tech was launched.

There is no information on what will happen to those who carried out the proper maintenance intervals and still got a huge repair bill; if that money will be reimbursed or not.

Well. It finally happened. Consumer advice you should listen to!

As much as I’d like to say this is unfortunate it is not. I’m so glad the 308 gt finally died.

Now this may hurt some people but I don’t care. If it saves someone from a catastrophic disaster with these cars that’s good enough for me.
This is my honest opinion based on my experience with this car and I’ll say it now, people considering any 1.2 pure-tech powered cars deserve to know this. DO NOT BUY ONE! If you have one, sell it.

The company I work for will not be spending money getting it fixed so it’s now spares or scrap. Apparently doesn’t fall within the recall period either so after two welt belts, way too many oil changes over 72k miles and numerous issues including an oil leak, iffy catalytic converter, faulty door handle and central locking, utterly diabolical tech failures such as gauge cluster and infotainment not working most under warranty but some now out of warranty (I don’t think Peugeot techs even new what they were looking at half the time) its now 4 year old scrap. Shocking. It is the worst car I’ve ever driven.

The culprit? The obvious. Even after what I would consider an overly cautious approach to oil changes and an attempt at wet belt preservation it has still failed. Arguably the worst engine ever made.

I was very fortunate it was a company car and I don’t have to inherit this heap of financial burden but my advice to anyone considering it again would be DO NOT BUY any wet-belt driven cars or 1.2 Puresh**e power plants.

9 months of ownership and I love it!

THIS... is a 1999 Peugeot 306 XS HDi and owning it has been a blast so far. It drives great, it's not that quick but it makes up for it with amazing cornering feel (as much as a 2.0 turbodiesel hatchback from the 90s can feel :D)

Engine is holding up quite well, electronics not so much but it's been fun fixing and modding stuff.

Relay for the A/C fan was blown when I bought it so it was a quick replacement, then a week later the indicator relay, then I noticed some dashboard light didn't light up when starting so I changed all of them to blue LEDs to give the interior a fresh new look. Finally I replaced the A/C condenser and now it blows snowflakes inside :D

There's still a lot to do, like the broken single wipe function and auto function and the right rear view mirror seems wobbly but I will get to that soon.

While lurking around the service documents, I also noticed that the mileage seems to be incorrect as it had 340k km at the time of its last service in 2011 while it was in Italy so it realistically has ~500k currently, I never would've guessed that based on the way the engine runs.

All in all, it's been fun time owning it. I hope to start doing some performance mods next year like a new air intake, upgrading the cooling system and remapping preferably to around 115-120hp.

2015 Peugeot 2008 - Loud bang when lifting off the throttle

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone has experienced something similar.

I have a 2015 Peugeot 2008 with a manual transmission. Whenever I lift off the throttle, especially in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, I hear and feel a loud bang, almost as if the engine is hitting the chassis.

For example, if I accelerate and suddenly release the throttle before pressing the clutch, there's a strong clunk. The same thing happens when shifting into 2nd, although it's usually less severe.

This happened about eight months ago, and the mechanic replaced one of the engine mounts. I think it was the lower torque mount (dogbone mount), but I'm not completely sure. After the replacement, the problem disappeared, but now it's back.

Could that mount have failed again after only eight months, or is there something else causing excessive engine movement and damaging it?

Has anyone experienced this on a Peugeot 2008 or knows what else I should check?

Thanks in advance!

Peugeot geht nach etwas stark genommenen Kurven in notlauf

Hallo zusammen,
mein PEUGEOT 308 SW II (LC_, LJ_, LR_, LX_, L4_) 1.2 THP 130

English:

Hi everyone,
My Peugeot 308 SW II (LC_, LJ_, LR_, LX_, L4_) 1.2 THP 130
only goes into limp mode after taking corners a bit faster. Immediately after the corner, an "Engine Fault" message appears; the engine stutters and has hardly any power.
If I turn the engine off and restart it, the car runs perfectly normally again right away, and the message is gone.
The tank is full; I’m still checking the oil level. The problem occurs consistently after taking sharper corners.
Has anyone experienced this before or have any idea what the cause might be? A loose connection, the fuel supply, or something else?

Peugeot 3008 updates

I’ve been trying to update my 2021 3008 software for the past few days. But every time I try it says “hardware not compatible”

I’ve searched for many fixes online and none of them seemed to work, anyone else have this issue and how did you fix it?

Peugeot 107 2007 speedometer

Sister's 107 speedometer stoppede working as well as the rpms. A few lamps in dashboard working, low/high beams, blinker, engine light when starting.

I checked all fuses, both in engine bay and both sides of the steering wheel, but none of them were done and i had the negative terminal off as well.

Now the when starting the car the normal ligthts, check engine, battery etc light brightly. After a few seconds the airbag, seat belt, oil, temperature and STOPS light turn slightly on as well, and they doesnt stop when the car is running.

Any ideas on whats going on? And did i mess her car further up?

Thanks in advance

White smoke

When i accelerate, sometimes thin white smoke comes from my exhaust. This only happens when i press the pedal firmly after standing still at a traffic light. Is this something to worry about? No check engine light or whatever, peugeot 208 2016 gt line

Touchscreen update

I was recently made aware of a touchscreen update for my 2019 508 gt. I downloaded the windows app, followed the instructions and let the app install the update on a formatted usb pen drive. The app automatically unzips any files and formats the usb to FAT32. I’ve put the usb drive in to the correct port on the dash followed the online instructions as best I can but the car just doesn’t initialise the update. Whether it doesn’t see the usb or the files on it, I’ve no idea. I’ve checked the current version installed on my car and it’s:
42.03.33.32-NAC-r0. The update on the usb is 42.03.33.42-NAC-r0 so I’ve definitely downloaded a newer version.
Ive even tried using 2 different usb drives (32gb) for a 5.7gb update.
Within the last month or so, I successfully updated the sat nav maps using the same method. As soon as I plugged the usb in to the dash, the car asked to initialise the update.I’ve even used the same usb drive I used for the map update (reformatted obviously).
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi, after 9yrs and 100,000km wo any problems strange noise has appeared. Took it to the service center they threw it on the lift, but found nothing and said its okay - they probably didnt hear the noise at that moment, but the noise came back shortly after. Car is serviced and maintained regularly. Could someone please help me find out, where the noise is coming from?

Car: Peugeot 3008, late 2016 after facelift - 1.6 HDi 88kW, manual.

Peagueot 2008 (2015)

Hi,

I have a 2015 1.2 petrol peagueot 2008. It was fully serviced 165 miles ago and had it's clutch/flywheel replaced.

Today the oil low warning light came on and it's pretty much empty. There's been no oil leak under the car and everything appears to be fine. I will top it back up but just wanted to check if anyone has had a similar issue?

I can take it to the garage but the clutch replacement cost wiped me out to be honest. I need the car for work. Can I just keep topping the oil up in the meantime?

Changement filtre à air 1.6ehdi 112 - 2012

Bonjour,

Outside temperature sensor

Hi all,
Does anyone know where this sensor is located on a 108 from 2021? I cannot seem to find it at a side mirror?

And, related, if my temp stays at 14 degrees Celsius, while driving in France with 33 degrees, this sensor is probably broke, right?

Cheers!

Timing belt

Post image
6 Upvotes

Does anyone think this timing belts done for been to two mechanics and one said the timing belt spark plugs and ignition coils need replaced and another mechanic said that the timing belt isn’t the problem (the engine has shown engine lights twice and there is a misfire in cylinder 2 causing it to cut out and needs and goes into limp mode for a bit until the fan in the engine goes off then it’s drivable again) it’s a 2016 Peugeot 208 1.0

Sorry for the bad photo best I could take

Cup holders

Hi! My partner is due to pick up a 208 in the next week or so, it’s a 2025 model RHD, just wondering if anyone can provide the (front) cupholder measurements so I can find/engrave a custom travel cup?

I’m wary about just gauging by eye because my car cupholders are smaller than most I found, so measurements would be helpful!

sup. trying to narrow down the location of a phantom coolant leak on my car.

need help identifying the potential culprit - you guys have any clue what / part of what component this is?

it sits mounted on the engine, just above the crankshaft pulley. I suppose the white stuff is dried / evaporated coolant

Duda Peugeot 208 allure am5
