Finally speaking my truth that Constantine Rousouli from Titanique and his friends sat behind me at The Rocky Horror Show on Sunday 7/19 and talked through the entire first act. Not call outs, just full volume conversations about the show, the movie, or their lives.

I assumed it would be rough when they sat down and saw the Titanique ad in the playbill my friend was reading and started loudly saying "Connie there you are! There's Connie everyone! He's in the playbill right there!" as if trying to get us to turn around and acknowledge him.

We did not.

Is what I confidently told my wife as I ordered us tickets. “You know, the group of boys that run away with Peter Pan and never age. They’re the Lost Boys.”

Skip to my wife and I turning to see the confusion in each other eyes as a bunch of vampires appear playing heavy metal.

Great show, was a lot of fun. And yes I have since read that my original premise was semi-correct and that the original movie was based on Peter Pan.

Just recently, the Arena Spectacular cast just performed "One Day More" on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, and they have appeared to swap out Marius's lyric at the start with Fantine sing a few lyrics from "I Dreamed A Dream". I must admit it is quite an interesting change to say the least. Yet I have to ask, is this a new implemented change in the show or just a change for this promotional event?

I saw a few posts in this sub about Jennifer Nettle’s new musical at PAC called ‘Giulia: The Poison Queen of Palermo’, so when I spotted it on TDF, I decided to grab a ticket, and I am so, so glad that I did. I loved every single second of this show. The story was really engaging, the songs were very catchy, and the cast gave some of the best performances with some of the most powerful vocals I’ve heard in a while. As always, I just want to thank everyone here so much for posting about new shows that you’ve seen and enjoyed. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen something based on a recommendation here that I’ve ended up loving. Definitely give this new musical a shot before it closes on August 2nd. I highly recommend it.

I adore Joel Schumacher and knew The Lost Boys was not that vibe, but oof.

What vibe is it?

The set is so gorgeous. They use every bit of the spacious Palace. They play to the strengths of the actors really well too.

But the music. Dear lord. What was that? Who ordered that? Why?

Just ballad after ballad of the blandest exposition dumps on the planet. I get that Shoshana Bean is a star, but the amount of songs a minor character had was absurd.

The characterizations were slim. Yes, that’s a hallmark of the movie, but so is Schumacher’s sleekness and his constant homoeroticism.

Here, we get a sanitized version of everything queer, plus an awful Superman song that felt like a riff on the Sufjan Stevens Man of Metropolis vibe. It felt like the producers wanted this to be super family friendly, and threw in some queer platitudes to avoid a backlash.

What happened to out of town tryouts? This show needed another year in development so badly. The music is not ready for prime time at all.

I know there’s all this uncertainty about the industry, but how do you spend that much money on everything, while cutting corners on the writing? It’s just insane to me how much money was spent on a musical with the blandest music on the planet.

Schumacher’s work is really messy, but it had perspective. This was just a mess.

Went last night - had expectations- bc I did admittedly LOVE that film when I was growing up. I know it’s a campy - cheesy film but - I was a big 80s girl.
The musical met my expectations- thought all of the songs were well done. Performances were outstanding- the effects- did blow my mind.

I love the extra scene at the end. I thought it was a great touch.

What's your favorite setup of a Broadway show while waiting for the performance to begin, during the intermission, and after the show is over? When audience members are allowed to roam around, talk, and take photos to post about their experiences online? Here's mine:

• Moulin Rouge is my favorite, hands-down. I love the lighting, the vibrant red colors, the cool background music, the windmill, and the fancy accents. And that's not mentioning the performers that come out about 10 minutes prior to the show! The ambience while waiting for this musical was delightful.
• Matilda. The letters decorating the stage are something to behold, and so full of character. Love that you can do a word search with them while waiting for the show, too.
• The Outsiders. The country music playing is so soothing to listen to. Ponyboy walking up on the stage and reading on the tire is such a nice touch. And I thought the curtain image looking scratched-up and blurred during intermission was a really cool story detail as well.
• Maybe Happy Ending. Like the Outsiders, the jazz music is lovely to listen to while waiting, and I love the ambience James in his chair and the record-player bring while waiting for the show.
• & Juliet. I love the detail of the letters of Romeo's name being scattered all over the stage, completely separated from the sign it was supposed to be on. Cute.

Just saw The Mousetrap in London (was excellent) and had me thinking about that announcement of a transfer back in like 2022/2023. I tried looking up if there was a official cancellation of it but couldn't find anything. Anyone have any leads on this?

Just got word from the public that winters tale is no longer opening this week due to the recent weather issues. Opening is pushed to Tuesday.

What is the lowest possible weekly operating cost for an "average" Broadway musical today?

(Also in which theater, as theaters charge various rents/fees/percentages.)

("Average-sized" cast, crew, orchestra, set, etc.)

With CATS closing, and 9/10 musicals never breaking even, I'm curious what an "average" Broadway musical today needs to make each week to stay open.

Of course no one but the producer knows for sure, so I'm asking for guesses and estimates.

(I don't want to get caught up in the semantics of "this or that," "every show is different," etc.)

Just take an educated guess or estimate! (...or don't answer if you don't know.)

There's a few around here who really understand the numbers, so one of you can give us a great answer and breakdown!

I have no affiliation just sharing since seems very cool! Benefit show 10/19 at M&T Bank Exchange at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, which is a cool more intimate space next to the Hippodrome (where Ceilidh played last year). Loge seats including fees for $88! And honestly not that expensive for tables up front.

I want to wear this to see Phantom but I want to make sure it’s not against dress code. I do have a little cape and a sheer Shaw. Thank you to anyone who responds!

I think they said a cast album would come out over the summer. Are there any date confirmations?

I’m super torn on where best to see the lost boys from! Going with a friend who is super into the original film and hasn’t seen many Broadway shows, so I’m looking for the most general appeal..

Options are center mezz D111-112 or somewhere on the orchestra like row P111-113ish.

my girlfriend and I will be rushing mincemeat in September for our third anniversary, and I was wondering how the rush scene has been recently!

I’ve seen mincemeat three times now but I have never rushed, where are the seats normally located? I can’t climb to the mezzanine as I use a walker and my girlfriend is low vision, so we need orchestra close seats to be able to enjoy the show. where have the rush seats been recently?

also, what time is the best to arrive? we’ll be rushing on a Saturday- is 7 am good or should we plan for earlier since the box office opens at 10?

I know it’s early but I like to plan ahead. thank you in advance for all the info!
