Shine Compilations
Who else used to get the Shine albums? They were a fantastic discovery resource for determining which bands to get into. Would never have found bands like the Longpigs or Mansun without these. It also taught me what not to get.
Which bands did they introduce you to?

Tin Planet - Limited Edition Tin Case + Space Fan Club
One of my favourites. Found the post card inside to sign up for the Space Fan Club. Does anyone still have their t-shirt, fanzines, or membership card?

Opinion: As much as fans want it, can new Oasis music really live up to the '90s Britpop heyday?

What bands do you love that aren't Britpop or from UK?
I absolutely love No Doubt. Tragic Kingdom is an amazing album from start to finish.

I know this technically skirts the edges of Britpop…
…but I’ve been listening to a lot of Electronic lately and just really enjoying the vibes. For a long time I think I only knew a couple radio tracks.
Anyone else love this mash up? Anybody get to see them live?
Edit: This sub loves its strict definitions of Britpop and to be clear I’m not dying on a hill that Electronic was Britpop (although services like Last.fm designate them as such). I just posted to talk about music I’ve been listening to lately that was both a Britpop influence and continued alongside it.

St Swithin's Day - Dubstar.
As today is St Swithin's Day... I'd have posted the original by Billy Bragg but I'd get assaulted by the mods for not being Britpop...Dubstar are closer.

Anthems? (for a playlist)
Currently making a playlist of anthems, like bittersweet symphony or don't look back in anger. Suggestions?

Britpop: a genre or an era?
With how different alot of the bands are surely Britpop isn't a genre, it's an era.
