I've been thinking about something and wondered if anyone else here has faced the same challenge.

I write and release original English rock/pop music from India, but my intended audience has always been outside India. The music itself isn't aimed at the local market, so I've spent most of my time trying to figure out how to reach listeners overseas.

I've tried YouTube, Meta ads, playlist pitching, online radio, and the usual independent artist routes. Some things work a little, most don't, and it's often hard to tell what's actually building a real audience versus just generating numbers.

For those of you making music for a market that's geographically far from where you live, what has genuinely worked for you? Not quick hacks, but things that consistently helped you find real listeners.

I recently stumbled across a real masterpiece of an album: Whence He Came - Still Amidst the Traffic. Unfortunately, there's not much information about the band online, and it appears that the only disc for sale on Discogs is going to cost me at least $55. I checked on a couple P2P networks too and no one seems to have it. It;s on Youtube, but I'm looking for higher quality. Anyone here have a CD and would be willing to either sell it or lend it? We are influenced by bands such as The Smiths, early New Order, The Drums, early The Strokes, early Morrissey, The La's, The Fall, Iceage, The Cure and other bands.

The project consists of myself (vocalist), guitarist and a bassist at the moment. We've recorded some rough scratch demos of songs that we can send you. We all have experience writing songs and playing in bands. We are committed to having fun writing songs, recording and playing shows.
