So, I did a thing and let loose a thing in time for Hotelia 2026. *Hotelia 2025* consists of three tracks recorded during last year's Hotelia event. Cheap as chips.

Advice- finding work

I might be moving to Bisbee in a month or two. I have family helping me out with a place to live, and I’ll need to find a job asap. The only work I’ve ever done is retail, so my question is, do you think it’s easy to find work at the big box stores in sierra vista? I would love to work in Bisbee proper, or Lowell/Warren area, but I would imagine those jobs are hard to come by. Any advice would be great! Big changes make nervous, but I can’t afford to stay where I am, so this move is probably my only option.

Edit to add: I’m 40 year old female.

Call for art pieces for the Bisbee CigArt machine

The CigArt machine is a publicly available art dispenser in Old Bisbee, made from the decommissioned cigarette machine. Artworks are approximately the dimensions of a cigarette pack and cost $20, which is mostly paid to the artist.

It's That Time Again! HOTELIA 2026

Post image

Last year saw the first HOTELIA, with occasional HOTELIA weekends (there were supposed to be twelve, only two happened) that were setup.

Basically, the owner of Hotel La More/Bisbee Inn hands over most of the rooms to performers and artists of all kinds, and lets chaos rip. Last year saw Unkle Dill and his clown crew, photographer/model/burlesque performer Sarah Slaykitty and her crew, artist/poet Ken Boe, myself arriving late to shake the hotel with music and also wearing my poet's hat (backing Ken's readings as well), a live painting to Ken and I by Cathead Reynolds, lighting shenanigans, and even an impromptu fetish party that I magnificently slept through.

This year we have me arriving early, Ken, Sarah, Unkle Dill and crew, and lots more, including drop-ins. The rooms open from 8-10pm, though some of us might have open doors at other times, visitors can wander through the place whenever, and there'll be a more or less an open house Friday-Sunday.

The hotel also overlooks Brewery Gulch, so you know it's going to get riotous at times.

Are they blasting by the tailings pile on Arizona street?

Hi all, what's going on with the blasting noises tonight? Sounds like fireworks but coming from north on Arizona street. Any ideas? Is this part of the reclamation efforts? Seems odd to have it going so late.

Otherwise, enjoy the nice cool rain smell night.

Recommendation for at-home chef/catering for large group in Bisbee?

We have a group of 18 coming into Bisbee and are looking for a quality, no-frills (does not need to be elevated fare) chef/team who would be able to cook a meal or two. If anyone has any experience with this or knows anyone who can handle a group that large, would love any recommendations! Would be able to provide a standard home kitchen as a resource. Thanks!

Is there anyone on here from '75? I know it's a long shot but I'm feeling nostalgic for that time. Especially for the care extended to me by so many, when I was too lost to feel I deserved it.

Southern AZ "Elevating Voices" Conference in June

Hey Folks!

Long story short I'm involved in organizing an upcoming conference that deals with teaching about community advocacy with an emphasis on food insecurity.

It will be June 5-6 at The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona in Tucson. We're now accepting applications from interested parties.

There is a $400 stipend given to attendees, and we're also looking for folks in more rural communities in Southern Arizona. To that end we're also giving a gas stipend to anyone coming in from >50 miles; there is budget for hotels on a case-by-case basis so folks don't have to make the drive to Tucson two consecutive days.

Information and a registration link follow, and I can answer any questions here as well.

"The Candy Store"

While poking around the map, "The Candy Store" comes up but it looks just like someone's house. Curious if this is actually a business or just something that got labeled on maps.

This should be pretty impressive. I've worked with Ken and Dylan, and seen Ben Dale live with his array of custom instruments.

Traveling to Bisbee in a few weeks. Agua Prieta or Naco for a day trip?

I have a full day for a Mexico visit. I intend to walk over the border, spend a day in either Naco or Agua Prieta, and then cross back over to spend the night in Bisbee. I have a car, so the distance isn't all that much of an issue. Would you recommend one over the other? I'm leaning towards Agua Prieta just because it seems like there's much more to do, but not sure if this is recommended or not.

What are the prospects for horse property in Bisbee?

To preface: my partner and I have visited Bisbee regularly over the last few years when ever we need a nice day trip or weekend getaway. We used to joke about moving there given we're both from bigger cities and of course had a claustrophobic mindset when looking at small towns, but it seems more and more that a smaller, tight knit community based in nature is exactly what we're wanting, and we fall in love with it more every time we go. My partner is in school working towards becoming a vet, and I'm looking to start school soon to become a veterinary behaviorist. Animals are our everything, and that includes horses (especially for me lol)- which, of course, can be hard to accommodate.

Not here to ask about the logistics of jobs or the distance of school as we're very aware of those hurdles and actively looking into our options- rather, I wanted to ask: what's the likelihood of any properties, 5 acres minimum, that can be zoned for horses existing within or nearby Bisbee (and not just in Tombstone or Sierra Vista or Elgin, etc.)? Whether for sale or, much less likely, for rent? We're currently looking at a 22 acre property just south of Bisbee to rent, and I've kept an eye on properties in the area for quite some time. Shockingly, we aren't able to afford the half a million+ dollar properties that I've seen here and there, so of course those are out of the question. Whether the land has anything built on it or not isn't a concern, simply having the space and the zoning is the biggest thing. Is it even possible? Does anyone even know of horses existing within Bisbee, aside from I believe that vacation retreat ranch before you enter old Bisbee? Just wondering about far off possibilities and what folks' feelings on the prospect are. Thanks!

Been trying to remember a good small Mexican restaurant I think was near the Copper Queen. Was last there Labor Day of 2020 and had outdoor dining. Does this sound familiar to anyone? And is it still around? The photos above were from the last time I was there

Any good places to sell albums?

I have a couple hundred mostly classic rock albums I'd like to sell. I really don't want to deal with marketplace or selling them individually. Are there any good shops in Bisbee that would buy the whole collection?
