Parent Plus Loan Timeline

Hi everyone, my sister is starting her undergrad this fall at University of Arizona. She's an out of state student and will definitely need parent plus loan. My mom has been trying to apply for this through guest centre but she keeps getting the error "Select award year - no terms available" though she has already selected the term before clicking on apply for parent plus loan. We thought the application hasn't opened yet and it will happen mid July but it's still not working. My sister sent an email to financial aid and they mentioned all loans are available for acceptance end of July, which is not providing clarity on Parent plus loan process. Has anybody done this before and do they know anything about the timelines for a first year student? Appreciate any guidance on this. Thank you!

Don't Use UofA's Self-Paced Think Tank LSAT Prep!

If you're considering using UofArizona's Self-Paced LSAT Prep through Think Tank, I wouldn't recommend it. I wish I had been able to find reviews before I got and used it, which is why I'm writing a review now. I think it was a complete waste of money and not at all worth the $300.

It's comprised of 34 videos (each about 5mins long), 3 "homework assignments" (which are just questions from an additional LSAT book), and answer keys to the homework. The book it requires you to get ($28) is just 3 practice tests. The videos are split into modules of different LSAT concepts (Assumption, Weaken/Strengthen, Inference, etc). The module with the most videos is Assumptions, with 5 videos, but almost all the other modules have 1-3 videos. The entirety of Reading Comprehension is comprised of only 4 videos. The videos start with a very basic explanation of the concept to be covered, about 1min, then just jumps into questions. A quiz pops up, and the video then explains why each answer choice is right or wrong. I'm not even sure if the questions it uses are actual LSAT questions. The answer keys for the homework provide very minimal explanations, maybe a sentence per answer choice. Sometimes it doesn't even use full sentences. There isn't even an answer key with explanations for the Reading Comprehension homework.

Overall, these prep materials are super disappointing, especially for the price. You get much more thorough explanations and content on LSAC's Drill Sets for FREE. The fact that this was $300 genuinely feels like robbery. I've learned maybe 1 or 2 helpful tips, but I didn't gain anything foundational from these materials. At best, it felt like an opportunity to apply what I had already learned in The Loophole. But again, not worth the $300 for what I could've done for free. The materials were so basic and surface-level that I finished the entire course in about a week's worth of studying (I've been doing 2 hours daily, sometimes 3). It took me about a month and a half to get through The Loophole, and it was significantly cheaper ($40), thorough, and foundational. It seems like there are many other sources out there that do much more for way cheaper. I can't speak for UofA's in-person LSAT prep options, but this was the worst.

TLDR: Don't purchase UofA's Self-Paced LSAT Prep!!

Employee occasional use parking permit for 2026-27

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows what's happening with the occasional use permits for this year. The parking portal just says that they are "temporarily unavailable due to potential program changes" and to check back in mid-July for more updates. I can't find any more info. Does anyone have any insight? I guess I'll just be checking the portal every day.

Classes/Degrees B.A. in Law

Is anyone in the BA in Law program or have you recently graduated? Any words of encouragement or advice?

I’m a non traditional student transferring to UA after fitting 60+ credits into 3 semesters! I did well and finished with a 3.9, but by this past spring… I WAS EXHAUSTED. I’m currently studying for the LSAT (which I need to take by Oct/Nov) and classes start August 24. I have had rnough relaxing this summer so I shouldnt be too overwhelmed come August, but i’m wondering:

what classes look like?
are there any professors to be aware of and were office hours reasonable?
how is program structured?
did you find a good group of people to study and grow with?

Questions How is social life?

Hello everyone, i’m an incoming freshman this fall and since the first day of classes is approaching i’m starting to feel a little bit of anxiety about how social life is going to be. I been living in the country for 2 years, my english kinda sucks a little and i didn’t made significant friends in high school; i have hope that college will be different and i will have opportunities to make close friends and meet a lot of people. I want to add that i won’t be living in the dorms or joining a sorority, will this make finding friends or talking to people more difficult? Thanks :)

transfering from PIMA CC to the UofA

Hi all,

I am an upcomming freshman at Pima CC . I am majoring in biology because I want to persue a career in the medical field.

My long term goal is to transfer to the UofA to get my major in Biology. But to be honest im having a hard time figuring out a path to transfer in the future, and also figuring out what classes i should take. Some people were telling me that is very difficult to transfer to the UofA, and also to get scholarships. Any advice or perspective of people who had transferred in the past would be highly appreciated.

also I am currently enrolled in CHM 130IN, BIO201IH, WRT 101SE and SOC 101SE. Are these clases tranferable at all? if anyone is doing or did the same, what classes did you take?

Questions COA Fall/Spring 2026-2027

Hello! I’m an incoming transfer student from Phoenix, AZ. I attended community college my first two years and will be attending U of A this fall as a junior. I’m pursuing my BA in law and my BS in Political Science. I also have one bookkeeping certificate and am almost done with my basic tax certificate ( just need an internship for a semester; spring internship). I am receiving about 19,000 in grants/scholarships but my coa under U access is $37,820.00 I am living off campus and estimate a yearly cost of $8000-9000 for an apartment complex with a 3b/3b or $7000-8,000 for a house for rent but it is 4 beds and 2 bathrooms ( but within walking/biking distance to the U of A). If any prior students ( in state residents) have attended and had an estimated COA and an actual COA please let me know if you think my aid would cover most of the expenses including tuition, housing, misc/personal, etc. I would really appreciate any insight!

Questions Question about laundry rooms in dorms

Hi wildcats. When I was applying for my first year dorm they provide a service that can do laundry for me once per week, which made me wonder if there’re any laundry rooms inside the dorms, that kind with washing machines and drying machines together in one room and you use coins or credit cards to use them? Generally how do you do your laundry on campus?

Housing Living at La Aldea

Is there anyone living at La Aldea? I am an incoming international student and I just read the checklist about what to bring and it says that I have to bring my own desk. If there are no desks there, then where do you all study at? Or should I afford my own desk at nearby somewhere?

Hi all,
I’m one week into this class and already super frustrated, the work load is cumbersome and it’s most irritating because the discussions and assignments are unclear. Can anyone that took this class recently advise me on the best strategies? Thank you

Classes/Degrees How bad is MAT223?

Context: astronomy major, want to double in OSE

I have a lot of eligible credits but I'm thinking of maybe retaking some of them. One of my biggest concerns is MAT223. None of the professors have good reviews and it's repeatedly iterated that MAT223 assigns a lot of homework. I took AP calc BC in freshman year and got a 5, so I have credits for MAT 122B/125 and MAT129 but I'm wondering if I should retake them. I took a multivariable calculus class in high school but don't remember much. How bad is MAT223 and should I prioritize my GPA?

Other credits I'm worried about:

AP CS A -> CSC 110? I took AP CSA freshman year and don't remember a lot. I got a 4.

AP Stats -> MAT263? I took stats this year and got a 4. Don't remember anything. Tho im p sure MAT263 isnt a major requirement 😅

AP Physics 1 and 2 -> PHYS 141 & 142? I got 5 on both. I'm currently in PHYS161H which is not covered by those AP credits and if I want a physics minor my courses will not be covered by AP transfer credits.

I've fulfilled all my gen eds and writing requirements and language requirements besides building connections 1 and 2.

Questions Barcelona Study Abroad

Planning on studying abroad in Barcelona for the spring 2027 semester. Wanted to hear outside input on housing situation, what it entails for each option (apartment, dorm, live with family), how are the classes, how easily accessible nearby countries are, anything that would help me prepare. Thanks

Classes/Degrees 5 on AP Calc AB exam. Should I take Math 125 or go to math 129?

Hello. I got a 5 on the AB Calc exam. Confident in my Calc skills but not sure if I should review the Math 125 or aim for math 129. I was told I won’t get credit for math 125 if I take it again.
Any feedback would be great on the best scenario and the experience that any engineering majors have had with this

Questions Parking questions

Starting my first semester at UofA this fall (graduate student). I will likely be living in the graduate housing complex next to Tyndall garage. If I purchase a permit for this garage, are there usually open spaces available? Do I get access to more than one garage when I buy a permit? I know parking on college campuses is usually a headache, but how bad is it at UofA? Do permits sell out pretty quickly? I’m just hoping that I can routinely find a spot in Tyndall without any issues. Thanks in advance.

Classes/Degrees Any one taken or heard any feedback on the PMEDCRTU - Paramedicine program?

Hi everyone, reaching out to hopefully get an insight on the quality of the Paramedic program. I'm interested in this mainly because of the condensed format that only takes about 9 months.

- Is the cost based the standard UoA credit hour?

- Has anyone enrolled into this program or know of anyone who has?

- How is the overall quality of the program?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Incoming y1 international student, have received two of this kind of sus emails. I heard that some universities send fake phishing emails to students to test their antiscam skills, is this one of them?
