bumblefoot?

Post image
Upvotes

my blue budgie and sometimes my green one keep bitting their feet constantly, i’ve given them perches that are real wood and other sizes along with a dowel perch on the bottom of the cage, i’ve been using a vinegar and water solution to clean their perches, google told me that they could possible have bumblefoot and I am just worried, all advice is welcome even if not related to issue

(p.s i know their nails are ridiculously long and i will get them cut as soon as possible as i am inexperienced and no vet is available this week, their pet store budgies so i expected less healthy conditions)

Is my bird hurting himself?

I think he’s (honestly, should I just say ‘she’ at this point?) finally going through his first molt, so he’s been losing a lot of feathers this week, including this wing feather. It looks frayed most everywhere though, and I’m afraid for him. Is he overpreening/underpreening himself? Does anybody know what this means? I’ve tried looking it up, but am not quite certain as to what it’s the victim of. Thanks.

Found wild bird Baby Sparrow! ⚠︎

Hiii everybody!! I really need help!

I found a very young baby sparrow on the concrete, lying in direct sunlight. I brought him home because he was barely feathered and seemed way too young to be on his own ( With my mother, we first thought he was dead, then he moved a paw)

I gave him a little water with a pipette, and I soaked some cat kibble in water until it became very soft and diluted because he is so young. This isn't the first time I've rescued a bird, but this time I'm really worried because he is extremely young and has barely any feathers.

My mother has tried contacting animal associations, but unfortunately, no one is answering.

I know that baby sparrows should mainly be fed insects at this age, but there aren't any stores near me that sell them, and I don't know what I can safely give him in the meantime.

I would really appreciate any advice on how to keep him alive and care for him properly until I can find a wildlife rehabilitator. I really want to do the right thing and give this little guy the best chance possible. :(

Thank you so much for any advice ♡

Found wild bird Baby sparrow

Long story short I found a baby sparrow, Humane society nor Salthaven (both places in my city that would take in animals) can take it in and I don’t know what to do. It didn’t fall out of the nest naturally, the nest had gotten destroyed by construction. Its sibling died but one is still alive. Please help I feel guilty to just let it die

Does anyone have this cage?

I’m looking at getting this Mcage double stack cage for my birds and wanted to see if anyone here has actually owned this exact cage or knows anything about it.

Mcage X-Large Durable Wrought Iron Double Stackers Breeding Bird Parrot Cage with 1/2” bar spacing. It’s listed on Walmart and is about $380.

The only thing making me hesitate is that the exact listing has very few reviews. It has a 4.8-star rating, but only 5 ratings and just one written review. The seller, ROWLAND DIRECT WHOLESALE, has over 600 reviews with a 4.1-star rating, and I’ve seen decent reviews on some of their other Mcage cages. I have seen 0 reviews or videos about this cage online and I don’t see it being sold anywhere but Walmart and UBuy.

I’ve looked at a lot of double-stack cages, but this one seems like a pretty good size for the price. I just want to make sure I’m not overlooking something before spending around $380 on it.
Thanks!

Other concern with pet bird “Fostering” Budgies, is this one sick?

As the title implies, I’ve taken in these two birds from a family member who got them just to look at them. I’ve had them for a few months now and have made little progress in bonding (so frustrating!!), so it would be a bit difficult to physically examine them.

That being said, the one bird has been sleeping a lot more frequently in this position. From what I understand, birds are incredible at hiding illness until it’s too late. I believe they’re around 5 years old?

Am I freaking out over nothing or is this vet worthy? Thank you.

Unusual eating behavior?

My female parakeet has recently been seen eating usually. She ended up spitting back up a pellet which, when I looked, was covered in seed husks. She's been eating normally otherwise minus the fact shes now taking pellets from her dish, walking to another part of her cage, and eating them there along with occasionally spitting the food out onto a perch so she can continue to eat it. I'll put the video of her eating in the comments, I'm just a concerned bird parent and I don't currently have funds for another vet trip since the boy already went.
