Good evening,

I absolutely love buying those useless (but totally essential!) mystery collectible figures where you never know what you're gonna get... so I decided to bring the concept over to 3D printing!

The idea is simple: you print a random print profile, and a little surprise figure awaits you... It's 15g, takes about 1 hour, and it's (almost) free :)

If you guys really like the idea, I plan on releasing new figures to collect on a regular basis. Let me know what you think, since I'm just launching the concept!

Review Bambu labs warning

Upvotes

I got a Bambu labs p1s ams for Christmas. Started printing after the new year and by mid March my printer could no longer print right. It’s ridiculous. I’ve been going back and forth with the company and they keep sending new parts that don’t fix anything. I can’t even remove one of the parts to fix it because the little bolt was stripped upon arrival! Their solution, put some super glue in and then put the Allen wrench in! What the heck. I want to just exchange for one that it isn’t a lemon but they refuse as it was past one month! What kind of crap company doesn’t stand behind their product. So buyers beware.

General Troubleshooting/Help! Help, 500h+ first problem

Hi. I encounterd my first problem after 500+ hours of printing without any mayor flaws. About 5min ago, the printer started to vibrate vigorously so i feelt like to stop the print. The part has 100% infill but so are the 20-30 parts before it. Did i miss something? PLA+ from Sunlu. The first parts were printed with Esun PLA+. Also i noticed a minor layer shift bout i think this is to the nature of the violent vibrating? I also did the recomended check after 250-300h printing time.

H2 Series [H2S, H2D, H2C] Filament calibration right or wrong?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Ok so I’ve been running more filament calibrations. I’m doing a few new colours of BAMBU PETG BASIC I’ve been doing tempt towers and now max flow rate. However I’m noticing zero difference. I know it at least thinks it’s doing it right as in the latest test I’ve been watching the nozzle temps for each layer to confirm. However the temp and flow rate tests look like it’s just printing perfectly the whole time (seems to be the only thing it does well!) now I’m doing flow rates. The max rate is set to 200 (not me it just does it for the test) and in the slicer I check the flow and then check the g code to confirm the flow 5-22 mm3/s any one got any ideas? I did try a 10-30 test but it went crazy on the first layer 🤷‍♂️

I’ve checked the speeds etc and when I click max flow rate test it obviously puts custom settings in so it’s not being limited by my slow profiles or whatever ?

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Broken piece mid print

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Hey everyone! I need your help please.

This piece made out of rubber was just laying on my print bed of my Bambulab X2D. I saw it mid print when I randomly checked in my running print.
Print looks fine and printer does not make any noises or anything wrong as of now.

I was printing only with my main nozzle (left one). You can see that the number „16“ is engraved on it.

Any ideas where this could have come lose from?

Appreciate any help!

General Troubleshooting/Help! P1S suddenly struggling with Z axis

A friend asked me to print some MTG deck boxes, and it's been a nightmare. First batch was fine, then on the second batch, a line went through all 4 boxes that wasn't laid correctly, so you could easily snap them in half. Tried a new filament, and more of the lines showed up (see picture 2). Started doing some maintenance, wiped off old grease, applied new grease, then the software freaked out. The extruder stopped mid print to rush to the side and vibrate violently, so I shut off the P1S. Took forever to reboot from that, but then it was fine again.

To spare repeating myself, it was a loop of greasing, cleaning, prints are fine, then prints are bad, rinse and repeat. Last night, I had a really good print, then set it to print more while I went to bed. Woke up to the spaghetti mess seen in picture 1. Threw that out, tried a tiny test print so I could watch it, it failed, and dragged the nozzle across my build plate scratching the surface beyond use.

I'm not sure what's going on. I can't update the firmware, it's been failing to update for months, and it only started having problems with these boxes. Even the good prints have been a little suspect, being unusually fuzzy for my printer. I got the model from a website I've never used before, Cults, so maybe that's the problem? I've recalibrated it dozens of times too. I would love advice on what to do about this.

General Troubleshooting/Help! Printing issues only when sliced myself

Thumbnail

Upvotes

(X1C) I've been having an extremely bizarre issue where if I import a model into bambu studio, slice it myself, and print it, it will always come out with severe defects. I can print any model from the mobile app OR that I've imported from maker world on desktop with any filament and it will come out perfect with the same filament and printing settings as the defective prints. I can send the exact same models to friends with the same printer and they can slice it and print it perfectly, or send me the sliced model and it will print perfectly. I have tried saving the exact printer profiles from the models from maker world or friends and sliced things myself with the same printer profile and I will experience the same issues consistently. Doesn't matter the filament (have tried with dried bambu matte PLA, overture professional PLA, and esun pla+) or the model itself (tried with a variety, both that I've made myself or downloaded from the internet) or the build plate (have used the textured plate, a smooth PEI plate, and a cryo plate). As long as I slice the model myself in Bambu studio, it will print with severe defects.

The defects will commonly include most but not all of the following list: overextrusion issues but only along one side, supports printed so densely they look fused together (like they are blobs of hot glue), adhesion issues along overhangs, becoming detached from the build plate in completely random spots or halfway through the print, prints that are "wavy" along the outer walls, and spaghetti issues at any point in time.

I have replaced the hotend, recalibrated the machine, run the dynamic flow calibration, checked to make sure both bambu studio and printer firmware is up to date, changed build plates between 3 different build plates, opened the front door, opened the top door, turned the fans on, then turned the fans off, printed at various times of day depending on ambient heat of the room, uninstalled and reinstalled bambu studio, and swapped filaments.

I've included pictures of 2 recent failed prints, one of which is after I replaced the hot end. Before these there are 6+ failed prints of the same model and 6+ failed prints of a previous model. I was able to print 15+ successful prints of random things from the app completely fine inbetween all of this.

How do I fix this and what is causing the issue in case it happens for the future after I've fixed it for this one time?

General Troubleshooting/Help! Bridges and Over hangs are terrible and I can't figure out how to fix it.

Hi, Guys I come looking for help. I have followed videos on calibrating my printer and the filament but my bridges and overhangs still look like this and I don't know what to do. I've included some pictures of the temp tower I did last night and picture of what I think are the relevant filament settings and here are the settings for my printer. I also have included pictures of the last model I printed and its errors for reference beyond the temp tower. Thank You.

- Using a Bambu Lab A1
- Nozzle is 0.4mm
- Filament is Bambu Lab PLA Matte Grey
- Layer Height is .20mm
- Bridge Flow is 1
- No thick Bridges
- Slow down on overhangs is on
- Overhangs speeds are default (50mm/s at 25%, 30 at 50, 10 at 75+)
- Slow down by height is off
- Bridge speed is 50mm/s

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! PCTG keeps clogging after 1 layer

Post image
Upvotes

I have 2 P1S printers, I already took one of them to a local shop because it kept clogging after putting down one layer of 3D Fuel PCTG (yes I’m using their filament profiles) and I replaced everything in the extruder short of the main board.
Now my second printer seems to be doing the same thing inconsistently, and after a print completes (if it even completes successfully) it rams the filament into a cold full nozzle after cutting it, making a bulged not of a filament that I can’t retract into the AMS.
I’m at a total loss here now on what to even do

General Troubleshooting/Help! What is the solution?

Thumbnail

Upvotes

In a lot of prints I get this uneven layer lines sticking out. With the A1 mini I had before the A1 I never had this issue with the same prints.

I have an A1 and tried some things already.

Retighten the belts
Tighten the hotend screws
Do all the printer calibration
And tried changing settings in the slicer

Does anyone have any idea why it does this, and knows the solution? Or is this normal and do I have to accept it?

General Troubleshooting/Help! P1s failure to push back

Upvotes

P1S AMS backspinning

So i went to print and i got an error saying that it failed to push back and that filament is stuck in ams slot 1 and 4. So I took ams apart and cleaned all 4 ptfe tubes from the ams, and yea there were 2 broken pieces in the slot 1 and 4 tubes. Well all 4 are cleaned out now and hooked it back up but it's still saying stuff is stuck in 1 and 4 but I 100% full cleaned it twice now. Nothings in there i ran a full piece through just to make sure. Is it glitched or something? Like it's not resetting? Any help would be appreciated

(Add on) I took tube from header and the back off as well. No stuck filament anywhere in printer

General Troubleshooting/Help! Multi-color prints suddenly fail with "Slicing Failed" – single-color worked once, Sunlu profiles disappeared

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm having a strange issue with my Bambu printer (A1) and AMS.

Yesterday everything was working perfectly. Today I successfully printed one single-color model, but as soon as I try to print anything with multiple colors using the AMS, I immediately get "Slicing Failed" and the print is aborted.

Here are the details:

  • I successfully completed one single-color print today.
  • Every multi-color print fails with "Slicing Failed".
  • It doesn't matter which model I use – all multi-color prints fail.
  • My custom Sunlu filament profiles have disappeared from the filament selection.
  • I have updated the Bambu Handy app to the latest version.
  • I tested on both Android and iPhone, and the exact same thing happens on both devices.
  • Since the issue occurs on two different phones, I don't think it's a phone-specific problem.

Has anyone experienced this recently? Is this a cloud slicing issue, a firmware issue, or something related to the missing filament profiles?

I don't have a laptop to test it on the computer version.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

AMS - Automatic Material System AMS Hub Motor Failures

Thumbnail

I’m not sure if it’s that phenomenon where once you buy a car you see your car everywhere while driving or something else, but I feel like I’m seeing non-stop AMS failures on this motor system. Mine was the back plate but I see what seems to be one a day posted here. Mine was under warranty and the part came in about a week but this seems more and more like a larger scale design flaw.

Is it at all related to a filament type? I run PLA/PETG/TPU only. FWIW I also have a sunlu drier but I’m curious why there’s seemingly so many people having the same issue at the same time.

General Troubleshooting/Help! Support Problem for Figure Printing

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm trying to print a 6cm (~2.3 inches) mini figure using PLA Basic, but I'm having a huge issue with the supports.

I’ve already tried printing it 3 times with different orientations, but every time:

The slicer generates way too many supports that are far too thick.

When I try to remove them, they are so rigid that they end up snapping the hands and breaking the fingers off the model.

I’m not really sure how to tweak the slicer settings or fix the model to make this work.

Would anyone be willing to help me figure out the best orientation/support settings (e.g., tree supports, interface gaps), or maybe take a look at the file/model?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🙏

(Green one is a figure made by resin printer, I talk about the black one)

Show & Tell Designing and printing a smartphone-powered rover.

Most structural parts are 3D printed, while the electronics are off-the-shelf.

The idea is simple:

a smartphone on the robot handles video and communication,

another smartphone controls it through a web browser,

Arduino handles the motors and peripherals.

This is still V1, but it's already driving, streaming video and now I'm adding security mode, BLE features and preparing a quieter V2 with BLDC motors.

I'd love to hear what fellow makers would improve in the next revision.

AMS 2 Pro - Automatic Material System Help with filament drying with Ams 2 pro

I tried to put 4 PLA spools and to dry them for 12 hours at 45 Celsius degree and after that the humidity was still 25/29%, now I will try to dry petg at 65 for 12 hours and see if it changes something. The room where I keep my printer sits at 40/45% humidity and right now in Italy there are around 30 degrees. Am I missing something or 25% is ok?

Prints come out just fine and I don’t have bubbles or stringing. The Ams is new, just bought p2s combo 1 month ago, thank you in advance!
