I Modeled This! I built a CyberBrick-powered RC water cannon with unlimited 360° rotation, elevation control and mechanical recoil

I wanted to build a CyberBrick project that felt more like a real RC turret than a simple water gun.
After several rounds of CAD design, prototyping and testing, this is the final result.
Features:
• Unlimited continuous 360° rotation (no slip ring required)
• Adjustable elevation control
• Mechanical recoil on every shot
• Single-fire & full-auto burst mode
• Hidden wiring and water tubing
• Mechanical spring travel limiter + servo clutch protection
• Complete BOM, print profiles and illustrated Assembly Guide
Everything was designed from scratch specifically for the CyberBrick ecosystem.
I’d love to hear your thoughts—or what you would have done differently if you were building something similar.

Show & Tell I built a free in-browser splitter for when Bambu Studio cuts aren't enough

Been working on this for a while and hit v1.0, so figured I'd share it here.

As we all know slicer cutting is very limited. Slicers aren't really designed for altering 3D models, and CAD is overkill when you just need to split something. I wanted a middle step.

Multipart3D.com runs in the browser. Free, no account, no upload. Files stay on your device.

What it can do:

- Planar cuts, area cuts (a planar cut with dimensions), dovetails

- Smart detach (my personal fav)

- Separate by color on painted 3MF (Beta)

- Connectors: dowels, magnets, snap-fit, pin holes, etc.

Not a daily driver. More something to keep bookmarked for oversized models, better orientation, assemblies, and multi-color splits.

Curious how it handles your models. You can also use the demo file!

v1.0 already covers the cuts I love working with most. See the roadmap for what's coming next. Any feedback is welcome and helps keep this hobby project going.

Many thanks in advance!

AMS - Automatic Material System "Just pull hard" advice from an older post for ams retraction error...

Post image
37 Upvotes

If you have an AMS retraction error, maybe don't follow advice from older posts about using lots of force to pull the filament out and not worrying if it's really hard to pull. The multitude of commenters were swearing it'd be alright (and OPs were reporting back that it fixed their issue), so I did, heard a loud crack/snap noise, and was then able to pull the filament out. Afterward, I noticed the AMS was making a weird sound and not actually feeding at all when it tried to load filament. I had to take it apart to find the internal hub unit, completely snapped.

At this point, I'm pretty sure there was broken filament from the end of a previous roll I'd recently switched out, causing a jam somewhere in there. Probably would've done me better to just take the AMS apart to begin with, as is recommended in the troubleshooting/maintenance guides from Bambulab. Instead, I'm waiting for a new part to arrive so I can replace the internal hub unit.

Quick Question First 3D printer. Anything else I need?

Hi. As the title says, I'm looking to purchase my first 3D printer. I did find some similar posts but still wanted to be sure since getting stuff delivered to where I live is not easy.

I'm also looking to get mostly matte filament. Is that okay? Do I need more filament? Thanks in advance.

Making claims against copyright infringements can be a disorienting and time-consuming process, and we want to try our best to help. We’re happy to share that the MakerWorld Copyright Support Program is now available to creators!

How does the Copyright Support program work?

When your MakerWorld Exclusive Model is infringed, file an application with the Copyright Support program to provide necessary documents and authorizations. A professional copyright agency, partnered with MakerWorld, will assist you in filing an copyright complaint with the platform hosting the infringed model

Do I need to pay for this service?

Unless otherwise stated, all costs incurred in this process is covered by MakerWorld

Who and what are eligible?

Currently, MakerWorld creators with 300+ followers are eligible for the Copyright Support program. We hope to gradually make this service available to more creators in the future.

In addition, the model submitted for this service must meet the following requirements

  • It must be a MakerWorld Exclusive model
  • The creator must confirm that it's their original design
  • It must not involve any third-party IP

How to apply?

From your profile image on the MakerWorld homepage, [Creator Center] > [Copyright Service] > [Copyright Support] > [Apply Now]

What do I need to submit?

- Basic creator information, including name, phone number, ID cards, etc.

- Proof of creation, such as design drafts, sketches, records of the creation process, etc.

- Proof of publication and the publisher's identity

Sounds like a lot. How can I better prepare for this?

Keep copyright protection in mind when you are creating! We recommend taking these actions along the way:

  • Document the creation process to the best you can
  • Publish your work in a timely manner
  • Complete copyright registration is always recommended

General Troubleshooting/Help! Brand new H2S, AMS 2 Pro failed at under 80 hours. Nine days of support run around and still no resolution.

H2S, purchased new, AMS 2 Pro stopped feeding from all bays before 80 hours of use. Cleaned the PTFE channels, nothing significant. The idler arm is not engaging. If I depress it manually and push filament, it reaches the hotend. Without manual intervention, it moves nothing.

Bambu diagnosed it as an internal hub/motor failure and shipped the part, without asking if I wanted to do the repair. When I looked up the wiki, it requires full disassembly, softening factory-glued motor cables with a hairdryer/heat gun, and working in tight tolerances inside a week-old machine. I moved away from my Rat Rig printers to Bambu due to declining eyesight, and I am no longer able to work on the fine electronics and mechanicals required to keep bespoke printers running well, so I declined and asked for a replacement unit instead.

Bambu then agreed to replace the AMS 2 Pro directly, said to wait for the spare parts team to follow up. Their follow-up offer: Advanced Replacement. $299 deposit, they ship first, I return the defective unit, deposit refunded after inspection. When I asked how long the deposit hold lasts given their support response times, I got a form letter explaining why deposits exist.

Nine days, a refused DIY repair, and two options that both require me to either float $299 indefinitely or wait out a 3-4 week return cycle for hardware that failed in the first week.

I am not here to vent. Posting this because the pattern is useful to know before you buy. The product is good when it works. The support process for warranty defects is a different story. Expect to either wait weeks or float the full cost of their mistakes and be at the mercy of them refunding your "deposit".

Anyone navigated this differently? Did the deposit actually come back fast, or is "after inspection" the usual shorthand for "whenever we get around to it"?

Filament Troubleshooting/Help! PETG stringing

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hello all, New 3d printer user and first time PETG printing. I am attempting to print desiccant boxes for my AMS2 Pros, that are paired with my new X2D. I’ve had it for a couple weeks and have only printed PLA thus far and have had good luck with it, and am trying PETG for the first time.

And I am having terrible luck with it. Very stringy, clumps on the prints, and the last box never finishes quite right. Before I attempt again, does anyone have any tips on how to stop the stringing? I have tried twice, in between prints I tried lowering the nozzle temp as I read that may help. Please understand I am brand new to this, so simplicity may help.

Is there settings I can change in the Bambu handy app to help with this issue? Or is there a separate software/app/program I need to be using.

I am using eSun transparent PETG, and I did run a dry cycle in my ams2 pro on it (65c for 12hr, as recommended by Bambu labs thru their app) last attempt I had the nozzle at 245c, and I am running it through the auxiliary nozzle on my X2D.

I did attempt some troubleshooting last night (drying filament, changing nozzle temp) but not sure where to go next

Edit: per suggestions, I am going to run a second drying cycle, and move the Petg to my main nozzle, and try again. I will update with results. Thanks All!

P Series [P1P, P1S, P2S] P1S for kid

Are there any accessories or needed additions for P1S? Getting my 10 year old (to be) one for her birthday. For reference, she’s planning on making/selling fidget toys, masks, toys at kid-craft markets, and wants to donate to other kids with ADHD. I saw that PLA tough is best for her prints, let me know if otherwise or what Amazon brands work best if you can!

Spent a good 15 minutes wondering why the controller wasn't powering on, only to spot this

No, the connector isn't upside down. It won't physically fit that way.

Hopefully support sends a replacement :)

I just got this printer and have printed maybe under 100 hours

Currently using sunlu pla+ 2.0.

I’m wondering what may have caused the beige PLA to grab some of the yellow on this print.

I haven’t moved any settings, just inputted generic PLA for the sunlu filament. Still learning 3D printing. Any help would be appreciated!

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Broken piece mid print

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Hey everyone! I need your help please.

This piece made out of rubber was just laying on my print bed of my Bambulab X2D. I saw it mid print when I randomly checked in my running print.
Print looks fine and printer does not make any noises or anything wrong as of now.

I was printing only with my main nozzle (left one). You can see that the number „16“ is engraved on it.

Any ideas where this could have come lose from?

Appreciate any help!

Quick Question Pulling the trigger on a printer - Whats worth getting in the discounted add-ons?

As above really - Grabbing an X2D combo and AMS in the UK - Assume I have absolutely nothing :)

Guessing discounted PLA Basic is in there, but it is worth grabbing a load at the price? anything there pointless?

Thanks!

General Troubleshooting/Help! I need help... Clogging

Hello everyone.

So a few weeks ago, after finish one spool of sunlu pla 2.0 i change it for another of another batch, my p1s clogged after 3500h without mayor issues. First time that happened in this machine. I tried to fix it, but due was the old nozzle and didnt have experience, i broke the probe because i was unable to remove it

New nozzle, and new cables, and after a few 2h prints, same again. Clean it, and same again. I read about the heart creep. Open both doors and nothing, same issues. I never required to open the doors before.

Then it worked for a while, and when trying to print multicolor... same again. Tried diferent spools, I bought 2 sets of diferent brands, diferent materials, everything fails, sometimes just at the start, sometimes after the first layer. I can unclog it raising the temp to 260 on pla, and feels fine.

Then I decided to check temps with my multimeter... found 20 degress of diference. Removed, cleaned, put it back and the diference went down to a few degrees. Tried again and fail. I raised the temp 20 degrees extra and worked fine for 1h until it fail again. unfortunately it broke so I can´t test it again....

I ordered a new nozzle and extruder, but i check it and looked ok, so cleaned and back. I can´t see any issues with the fan at all, but it give me an error ones. Feels like is pointing towards the TH Board... but i dont know what else I can do. I maybe clogged the nozzle, and during replacement i kill something? I tried to turn off the printer meanwhile I was doing this things, but who knows.

Sorry for my bad english.

And thank you for any help.
