5 year old lymph node behind ear

Post image

A couple of days ago I noticed my 5 year old has a lymph node behind his east a little inflamed. He has been coughing and with a little congestions. Our pediatrician is on holidays so I’m waiting for her to come back, just wondering if someone has had a similar case. Thank you!

Skull Cracked For 15 Years?

This is going to come across like I'm an unhinged hypochondriac but please bear with me. 15'ish years ago, I was in a fight, got slewfooted & head forced into the pavement, knocking me cold. When I came to, I went back after the guy, & he did the same thing, slewfoot, head into the road, knocked out cold. Long story short, I got arrested, taken to the hospital but my head was never x-rayed. Since the incident, my nose is always runny & it's a different taste than mucus, it's very thin and salty. Anytime I exert myself, even slightly, my nose runs. I've recently also been experiencing hallucinations of voces of people treating me I've recently also been experiencing hallucinations of voices of people treating me. Could I have been living with a crack in my skull, all these years? Anyone with any experience like this?

What degree of burn is this?

I accidentally put my arm on a hot heat gun. Also, something to mention- I out it under cool water immediately after it happened, put some salve on it and bandaged it. I’ve used the salve on previous burns and it makes them not blister or bubble up.

I (22F) have these weird marks that kinda look like freckles. They don’t hurt and I’ve kinda just noticed them. They have been here for maybe a month. I’ve started drinking more water about 3 or 4 litres a day.

Hey med team, is this Bells Palsy?

Post image

For starters, I suffer from being prone to infection. But this is a new one for me. Earlier this month I thought I had a deep sinus infection or muscular pain- as the base of my neck and head felt tons of pressure when quickly moving or coughing. It felt like someone was beating me in the back of the head.
Had a skin infection so got some antibiotics and doc said I may have start of ear infection. Clindomycin cleared up my “headache” and my skin but my dumbass didn’t take the entire prescription.
Ear pain in base now, and a bit into jaw. Facial numbness like novocaine wearing off and I can feel it when I eat or drink having extreme weakness.
I absolutely cannot smile. And my eye is having a hard time closing and is watering nonstop.
Dentist suggests TMJ but I’m extremely doubtful.

Is this an ER visit? Or can I see my regular doc?
Should I take my antibiotics I have?

What’s in between my left pinky toe and toe right next to it?

Thumbnail gallery

A couple of days ago I stubbed my left foot’s pinky toe on the corner of my bed and since then my toe has felt a little weird so at nights when I would lay in bed I would use my other foot to separate the pinky toe away from the toe next to it and it would give a little ‘relief’. This has been going on for a little under a week now.

I came home today from work and laid in bed as I was lazy and took my socks off and decided to do the same thing but this time I had my gf check my toe for a deformity if it looked swollen or something… instead she found this.

Initially I thought it was a cut from when I stubbed my toe and the skin separated from the force but it’s definitely not a cut and more along the lines of like a wart or cyst of some kind possibly? Does anyone have any idea what this could be or should I go to the doctor for it?

What is going on with my tongue?

My tongue and mouth have been feeling very dry for about 3/4 weeks now. It’s even difficult to swallow. It’s not painful. Drinking water isn’t helping at all. I already have so many health problems that I dread adding another but (of course), I will seek treatment if it’s anything serious.
Thank you for time!

You’re a 21-year-old lifelong athlete (5’9”, 170 lb) who has lifted consistently for about 5 years and plays baseball year-round. After taking about a month of inconsistent lifting, you’ve returned to the gym and are experiencing widespread joint/bone pain rather than normal muscle soreness. Your left shoulder hurts during dumbbell shoulder press, your lower back and neck are painful/tight, and your left elbow also hurts despite being right-handed. You’ve had essentially no significant injury history and are surprised that such a short break has led to this much pain. You’re looking for possible explanations and recommendations for what to do.

If a doctor prescribes a med, does a nurse have to use that one?

I have a general question. It probably depends on facility policy, but I would imagine it's mostly the same everywhere.

If, for example, a doctor prescribes one antiemetic for a patient after a surgery, can a nurse give a different one at their discretion? Or is the nurse required to first use the one the doctor ordered?

Multiple lumps found in neck

Post image

I am 18, 6 foot 2, 77kg, male, i do not take medication but I take supplements like zinc and fish oil and I don't smoke regularly. I found 2 swollen lymph nodes in my neck around 5 weeks ago, they were in vertical to each other, l went to the doctor and it was the usual come back in 2 weeks if they persist, over the two weeks I had multiple more pop up and go away but the first 2 remain. However, these two weeks I smoked cigarettes and drank frequently. I had a blood test and it came back positive for mono although I haven't got any of the symptoms apart from inflamed lymph nodes. The 2 lumps are hard, immovable and are slightly painful. I've had a few pop up and go down in various locations, one in each armpit which gave me server pain, however the main 2 have been present the whole time and are about the size of a marble. Obviously I'm having major panics about it being cancer but I'm not sure what else it could be, if anyone has any idea please let me know.
