In the past, Iâve been Iâve been very good with cold weather. I used to live in Bogota Colombia, in which night temperatures in colder days it could be around 9° or 12° (53f) at night or even 14° during the day. back, then I used to sleep with a regular pajama and even without socks. An important thing to consider is that Colombiaâs houses are not protected against the cold weather so it gets fresh air every time and it can get very cold.
3 years ago Iâve moved to Stockholm. My first winter was very good as I only felt that the problem was the lack of sun, however the past two years, I feel that my body does not longer regulate its temperature. I need to have several thermal layers in order to feel myself safe when I go to sleep, otherwise I feel that I cannot âconcentrateâ or get into a ârelaxedâ mood. If I am not wearing 3 thermal layers I feel that I have this kind of mist around my face, very similar when you cannot concentrate or you are feeling âtipsyâ. This usually gets better once I put myself something warmer (despite already wearing tons of wool clothes).
I naturally start getting warm and then I try to remove one of the layers that I am wearing whether it is one pair of socks or removing one scarf and then I immediately starve start coffin or sneezing or I just constantly have runny nose, therefore I cannot sleep either.
Whenever this gets sorted out, I wake up every day at 3 AM no matter what and I cannot get back to sleep. After travel to other countries that have similar temperatures like Bogota and I cannot longer sleep without any thermal layers. In fact, I came back to Bogota a few months ago for a month, and I was wearing thermal layers during day and night. I feel that my body does not longer regulates its temperature when it is below 18 Celsius.
Even in summer I have to wear thermal layers. I am 30 years old. I eat healthy I exercise three times per week and I donât have any allergies (that I know of). I have tried in the past taking antihistamines however that doesnât help at all when I am having those symptoms. Sometimes when itâs summer and I go outside I can be without a jacket, but if I stay outside for a long time, then at the night, I will have a very strong coughing attack. That medicine doesnât regulate or control. I got my hormones and blood test tested and everything was OK and I am desperate because I donât know what to do. It seems like every winter that passes I need to have more and more layers as things start getting worse and worse and now I have to go to sleep with two terminal layers, a down vest and a heating blanket while on the other hand, my partner is of course melting all the time. I also have to sleep with a scarf (even in summer) otherwise I wake up with throat ache.
Doctors says it might be dust allergy but to be honest I donât think so.
Please help me.
