I need help!! First off, I’ve got a pea puffer. Separately, I’ve got a tank where I have ramshorn snails breeding to feed said pea puffer. Today as I am just peacefully watching my tiny tank of snails and looking to see new egg clusters and tiny babies, and all of a sudden I spot THIS. I have NEVER seen anything like this (relatively new to the hobby, maybe a little over a year or so no). When I feed the puffers I usually just find a piece of hornwort that has a bunch of babies on it and transfer that from the tiny tank to the pea puffer tank. So there’s a possibility that there could be some in my pea puffer tank too. So now my questions are as follows…
What is it?
Is it harmful to the snails?
Is it harmful to pea puffers?
Do they reproduce???
Should I remove one if I find more?
Best way to remove them?
Any fish/invert that could possibly eat them?

Anything on whatever this is would be greatly appreciated!😅😭

for context, i’m new to keeping snails. i was doing tank maintenance and noticed about 10-15 of these little guys on my tank. i was super confused since i am 98% sure my two mystery snails are males so i have no idea how they could reproduce. at first i was worried about assassin snails, but now i don’t think so since their shells aren’t spiky (idk if it’s just too early to tell or what but i hope they aren‘t assassin snails). i now think bladder snails?? if it helps, i recently got some red-root floaters from my lfs and a big piece of driftwood from lake michigan (red-root floaters i got about 2 weeks ago, and the driftwood i got about a week ago) pls help idk what these are

I got this snail from the pet shop for my tank about two weeks ago, and his shell looked a little funny but I didn’t think much of it. Top is the shell two weeks ago, bottom is the shell today. Is something really wrong, can I fix it?

ive been wanting to get some snails for a while now and looking into it i think rabbit snails are the best, they’re cute, fairly large, and reproduce slowly but, ive noticed no one really has them in posts and I was wondering if there is a specific reason on downside to why people don’t keep them commonly

I brought two nerite snails from a local aquarium exactly a week ago. I used to have two previous ones from Petco but the meat inside the shell was turning brown 🙃

Yesterday I noticed that there’s baby snails… a lot a lot a lot of baby snails. Is this something that is going to negatively affect my tank? If so, how can I deal with this? If being a fish keeper ends up not being my thing I’d like to have an army of shrimps but idk how they’d clash

Water parameters: 0ppm, 0ppm, 0-5.0ppm, 6.6pH
Residents: two (I’m assuming) adult nerite snails, one ghost shrimp (am waiting for it to be stable before adding more, used to have four but the others died), one female betta, and 7 black neon tetras

PS. Don’t mind the dead or decaying plants, a girl has struggled and is trying to learn 🤧

Hi! So i have a 10 litre tank that i have had some ramshorns in for a couple years now, and today i bought a lovely flowering aquatic plant for them that came with this little hitchiker! I dont have any form of filter or elecrticity required set up (i have no water or electricity access, so i use bottled mineral water for the ramshorns) and i just wanna know who this new little spotty spiral dude is and if he needs more than my set up can offer. Thanks! :)

Eta: little dude is very small at the minute, maybe 5mm shell legnth in total. Ive popped him in a little quarantine hopefully until we get a response on here - i dont trust to use AI for most things, let alone an ID request

anyone know good methods to improve my mysteries shell health, or have any recommendations on better water perameters testing kits?

i have them on snello a few times a week and sometimes sprinkle in some algae wafers here and there. im working on adding live plants to the tank to help with filtration. im a bit worried about the water perameters, i have used those test strip kit things but theyre a little difficult for me to read confidently.

i would really appreciate any advice. is there something i can add to the water for calcium absorption? I've been keeping mysteries for maybe half a year now. my friend dropped them off to me pretty spontaneously. (i had previously talked about wanting to keep land snails which i know much more about but he could no longer house the mysteries). i did some research and started making snello with the ingredients i had which is unflavored tums, carrots, algae wafers, and a complete mystery snail diet food mix. since i started giving it to them, i have seen minor improvements but its still not where i want them to be.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I got these guys about a week ago to be tankmates with my brine shrimp. And, just to have “some” algae control. I’ve confirmed that they are alive as they seem to be consuming the algae and pooping, and all 3 are holding their operculum pretty tight, just not active much. Is this normal for Nerites?

South Eastern Queensland Australia. Tank hasn't had new plants or anything in ages. Its probably been here a while. Got my first glimpse a few weeks back. This is second sighting. Suspect it hides in sand. Never seen above substrate.

I have a lot of wild plants & some pet shop plants. So could be a wild native or introduced.

I cant see an operculum. Body & tentacles very bladder snail like. That shell though 😵‍💫 just keeps going. Shell is maybe a bit over 20mm ling & 10-12mm at widest. I'm not super confident on size. Bit bigger than giant bladder/pond but way smaller than mystery snail.

Ai thinks Juvenile Radix auricularia but I'm sus on its I'd. Sugested a lot of bad fits first.

I spend a small fortune on plants each month. Send help.

Hey there! I am planning to add some guppies to an aquarium with some mature mystery snails, and I would like to add some Melafix, as guppies can be susceptible to infections; however, I am not sure if snails can tolerate it at all. If not, what can be added? Or should I leave it like that, and if something turns up with guppies, then treat them in a different aquarium?

I found a straggler on one of my aquatic plants? I have mystery snails in my main tank and don’t want an assassin that may kill them! If it’s a rabbit then I’d just chuck it in and welcome it to my community tank!

I've had regular nerites in the past and they filled every glass panels with impossible to remove egg nodules, I was wondering if pink lady eggs were just as hard to remove I don't mind removing eggs but regular nerites eggs were a damn pain in the ass to remove

I've had this mystery snail for a while and I've tried everything to help her shell. I've added snail minerals and snail food that's supposed to help. My hardness is very high from adding minerals and my tap water. Everywhere I've looked it's saying that the shell looks like that due to the water having not enough calcium or harness but I swear both are high. Please help 🥲
