I've spent the past few months building Gnomish, a native Apple Music player that aims to be a well-designed whimsical take on an Apple Music player built on MusicKit. There's a gnome hidden in almost every playlist cover.
I’m a product manager of 15+ years with a background in software engineering and art, and much of the time spent working in entertainment tech.
On top of the player basics (playlists, search, queue, AirPlay), it aims to bring fun via Magic Mixtapes where describe a vibe using a set of tags and your own description, to get a playlist with its own cover art, and a weekly mix built from your listening, a wanderable map of 150 genres, a Letterboxd-like album setup (hearts sync both ways with Apple Music Favorites, plus ratings and reviews), and an optional friends layer called the Garden. (And Last.fm integration!)
Fine print: Needs an active Apple Music subscription with Sync Library on.
Testflight link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/wQ94qtW5
App website link: https://gnomish.app/
I'd genuinely love feedback from anyone willing to give it a try. Thanks!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This usually happens on windows and my TV as well but it will log in after 2 or 3 tries. My phone app is just completely shutting me out now. I tried log in with password too and it's the same

I’ve often noticed that when I’m on Apple Music in the Car or with AirPods on,( anytime I can hear every part of the song) and I have auto mix transitions on for my music, it hiccups sometimes around the 0:15-0:17 mark on the song,
And my theory is, auto mix takes the first 15-30 seconds of any given song and preps it for “auto mix” so if separate it from the middle part of the song, this allows it to match and mix it with the song playing before(previous songs last 30-15 seconds) and because of this dissection, the song hiccups at 0:15-0-17 seconds.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk!

So I’m currently on a free trial for Apple Music, after having used the green app for years, and I am loving it. The only thing is, I am currently on a family plan for the green app with my parents, so I would have to convince them both to swit ch over to AM. So from a parents/adults standpoint, what are some reasons to go with AM over green app?
Would also like to mention that we all own iPhones, AirPods, and Apple Watches. So we are in the Apple ecosystem. I personally plan to get deeper into it, and switching would give me more benefits too.

I just found out that Mark Hoppus has a new radio show on Apple Music Radio since After School Radio was canceled. I’m not sure when it airs but I’m hyped!

Right now, I have Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro X headphones paired with an iBasso DC04 Pro, and I use UAPP. I subscribe to Tidal, though I also really like Apple Music. Eventually, however, I’d like to get something like the Hifiman Ananda Nano along with a desktop DAC. Would Apple Music still be worth it for me, given that I can't use UAPP with Apple Music on Android?

Sooo if I only just realized that I missed my Replay ‘25 because my listening history was turned off.., will having turned it back on give me the songs that were on my rotation at the time or is that just a lost year of my life? I’m on an iPhone 12 Pro Max if that means anything at all

I know there used to be because I've done it before, but it's been so long that I don't remember how I did it or know if you still can.
I googled this question, but every thread was infuriatingly vague, providing ways to mass delete the music but not clarifying whether they meant just downloads or the library as a whole.
For example, I know you can go Settings -> Downloaded Music -> Edit -> (-) All Songs, but I'm worried that will delete the library itself. All I want is to free up space, not to lose my music.
Can somebody please confirm whether it is possible and how to do it without losing over a decade of added music?

Search function is quicker and more responsive with iOS 27. finally! also native language works well. If you guys want me to search specific songs / artists comment below and i'll do it for you so you see if there's a difference with iOS 18!

I recently noticed that on iOS 27 Public Beta 1, there seem to be descriptions in the Essential Albums section now. Like small, standalone blurbs, and when you tap on the album there’s a fuller description just like before.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
yeah, this is a ridiculous option and it may take a couple hours of doing it but look at how satisfying this is.
apple music should have this option, i guess.

Hi all,
I’ve never had any issue close to this.
Installed iTunes and later Apple Music to my fresh Windows 11 install and am trying to login to either service, but get a generic “Temporarily unavailable” message on iTunes, and absolutely nothing on Apple Music. It just takes me back to the “try our trial” page.
My Mac and iPhone are working fine.
Scoured the support forums with no help. Also contacted an Apple rep who couldn’t help either.
I’m bewildered, so any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.

i have tried on multiple devices and this after i add it to library, it removes itself after like 1 second. i have tried adding other albums to see if it was an internet connection issue but other albums add just fine. anybody see this issue before?

I need help! I wanna pay for my Apple Music subscription but I use PayPal and it doesn't accept payments via PayPal. Is there anyone willing to receive the money via PayPal and then pay for the subscription for me?

I’ve had Apple Music for about a year now with no issues until now. When listening to Apple Music and I open another app, the volume lowers. The actual volume bar doesn’t lower, but the audio gets quieter. If I close Apple Music and reopen it, the volume goes back to normal, but will just lower again when I go into another app. I have already turned attention aware off and it did nothing. Using an iPhone 14 on iOS 26.5.2

Apple Music "Listening To" profile section isn't updating properly. For example, if I play an entire album, it shows up fine in my Recently Played history, but it completely skips showing up under "Listening To" on my profile page. It only happens with a few specific albums. How do I fix this?
Note: I am not running the latest iOS version

Are there more people who would like to be able to buy music directly from the Android app? Also, you can't play purchased music without a subscription, it's quite limited.
