Mobb Deep broke out as stars with The Infamous and received great reputation due to hits like Shook Ones Pt II and Survival of the Fittest while Havoc became one of the top producers and Prodigy was one of the hottest MCs

Nas was killing the guest features as he delivered some of his greatest guest features ever in his iconic career on tracks like Rae's Verbal Intercourse, Kool G Rap's Fast Life and Mobb Deep's Eye for an Eye.

Method Man carried Wu-Tang as the hottest member in the mainstream with the great momentum of Tical while You're All I Need w/ Mary J Blige and How High w/Redman were some of the biggest anthems of the year
