I feel like it featured all the cool stuff from Ultimate X-Men, like the modernized outfits, aesthetics and weird new Blackbird, but replaced the whole 'everyone acts like an asshole and hates each other' attitude with something more like 616/normal people would have.

Scott and Jean are in a healthy relationship, Logan is cool and more of a mentor (Like in Evolution), and the Professor actually comes across as a benevolent and wise father figure.

Great showcase of Magneto as a villain too, imo, his plan in this game was CRAZY and an awesome twist on Asteroid M.

It's like the best of both worlds between 1610 and 616!

I've been catching up on some overdue reading lately, and one of those books was Moonstar, which only reinforced the appreciation I've been developing for Ashley Allen's work.

I know Moonstar isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think Allen has done a really solid job so far, especially for a writer who's still early in her career.

Maybe it's because we went so long without seeing these characters treated with much care, but it's genuinely refreshing to see someone handling them with this level of consistency.

That goes double for Magik, whom a lot of writers insist on portraying as a brainless brute (like in MacKay's X-Men) instead of the exceptionally intelligent character she's been ever since Claremont's run.

She's definitely one of the creators to keep an eye on over the next few years.

I love how they chose a mix of students from different eras of X-Men for the new class. I also appreciate how the ones they chose are all so visually distinct from one another. Shoutout to Wing for actually surviving in this universe :D

Yeah, I know it's blurry. Unfortunately it's the best quality I could find. I think I see Mystique, Magneto, and a grey-haired Nightcrawler(?) along with Thor, Mr Fantastic, and possibly Doom (in front of the sentinel's left leg)

I watched X-Men '97 and recently came across this scanned picture of an argument between the two. I thought it was extremely cruel and It made sense why Lorna may have animosity towards Magneto. as someone who is not that familiar with their family dynamic. Is this normal for Magneto to treat her this own daughter way?
