Donāt hold your breath. Jump in. Itās beyond incredible. Such insane attention to detail and the biggest adrenaline rush of all game time.

Hey I haven't played since last summer, have been seeing it's a better game now to get back into, is there a good place to go to catch up on changes? I couldn't really find too much coverage on the sub lol

Iāve never laughed so hard as I have playing TF2. I play medic specifically and the kind of things you do and see are just absurd.

Mad max. Sometimes you just have to brutally murder a hundred war boys before riding off into the night in a post apocalyptic car with a hunchback carrying a bazooka strapped to the rollbars

Dark Souls.
The game doesn't give a fuck about your life outside, demands all of your attention, and awards you immensely for playing well. Put it on and disappear for an hour.

Assassins Creed. The brainless collectible hunt helped me through a lot of rough days. Especially the ones in Valhalla

Minecraft. Sometimes with a podcast in the background, but mostly with the wonderful and chill soundtrack running.

The hunter: call of the wild. Just wander the forest and relax, no grinding

u/emorazes 5h ago
Same here. Rifle, Binos, Bow, tent and just wonder across maps. Cant beat it.
2
u/ComprehensiveKnee284 5h ago
Exactly. Got all the dlcs on sale for a couple bucks at a time and no matter the mood I'm in I can find a map to wander. People don't get it

u/Frankyvander 8h ago
Wolfenstein Young Blood.
Simple gameplay, decent gunplay and running around blasting nazis is fun

Recently itās Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
Itās such a great feeling to play immersive mode, turn off the HUD and go in a random direction and try to take over a base somewhere. I usually do solo but adding a teammate once a while is fun.
Graphics are great as well which really helps with the tactical Barbie feeling of outfitting your character.
Just great overall!

For me, itās No Manās Sky ā I know I can always find a Gek with a funny name

Farming simulator 25. Seems incredibly boring (95% of the game is driving back in forth in straight lines.), but it's oddly satisfying and relaxing. Second place goes to satisfactory. Something appealing about watching a well oiled machine of industry at work. š

Now I actually look forward to coming home and playing games again right now.

Conan Exiles especially in a PVE server. Building things helps to rewire my bad mood because if I can't control the bullshit of the day, at least I can control what my house looks like.

Whatever I'm currently playing at the moment. Otherwise, I load up a save file of the last mission of Mass Effect 3, and I let my M-7 Lancer sing the Reapers to oblivion.

u/surewhydafuqnot 5h ago
I fucking love that gun, I'm currently playing Mass Effect 2 and just got re acquainted with the Mattock..... Pure. cranium. popping. bliss

For that, I use the silencer with the headshot muzzle. Lightweight and powerful. It's what I use on the mirror match in Armax Arena for farming credits.
EDIT: Oh, you meant ME2.

Honestly, fallout 3. If ive had a really bad day and just want to switch off ill always revisit fallout 3. Know the game like the back of my hand so I can just hop back in whenever and immediately know what im doing without using my now switched off brain š

I have quite a few games for this.
Kinda mid-term length struggle? Super Mario RPG.
I just need an hour or so of being a god to get over this? The first four (especially first three on SNES) Mega Man X games. If it takes more than one, that's okay.
Sometimes i want to drink to get over things and for some reason during this time if I am alone I will play Trauma Team on the Wii U. The OST had no reason to go so hard and some of the mechanics get me so focused and actually stress out my arm to the point where I forget about what I was frustrated about. Or with other people, games like Mario Party or any of the Wii Sports style games can be quite relaxing.
Just a few examples

Any game that I can instantly just turn off without having to save first if I need to just shut down.

It used to be IL-2. (The old school, and BOX) but that is made by 1C, which is a Russian state company. So, yeah...
Been rotating games ever since. Though, I do keep getting back to cities Skylines 1. It's like digital bonsai, you tweak the city a bit, and let it run, then tweak some more.

Easy answer for me is Tetris. Puyo Puyo Tetris specifically, just running through the campaign on a loop. Something about blocks falling in time with chiptune music just shuts everything off in my head. I used to play it on the bus home after rough shifts at my old job and the combo of motion and the puzzle wiped out whatever was bothering me before I hit my stop.
Honorable mention goes to PowerWash Simulator which sounds dumb but it's the same thing, just a meditative task list. Your brain finally gets to stop running worst case scenarios and instead worries about soap ratios. Way better than zoning out on my phone and doomscrolling.
