GTA: San Andreas. 15+ times already, multiple 100 percent completions as well. I will replay it sometime this year again.

Hell yeah, same for me. Love that game so much I know 90+ graffitis and the whole map by heart still.

Amen brother. What it lacks in gameplay it makes up 10 times in charm. The soundtrack alone has it miles above V for me.

But the fact that they were able to work with so little in 2004 to make a map that felt so diverse and like you were genuinely travelling between distinct areas, AND packed it full of things to do - yet V was this polished, but bland city with miles of empty countryside, and relatively little to nothing to do in 2013 is mind boggling.

The focus on graphics in the modern era of gaming has led to so many pretty, but soulless games

Nice! Same. Although I didnt finish it on 100%. On which platform / which version did you play and plan to play again?

I originally played it 1000+ hours on PS2 alone, then moved to PC and throughout the years, I just have been repeatedly playing it. I've also played the DE versions, preferring OG games with some QoL mods (SilentPatch for example, and the PS2 look mod as well).

My next playthrough will be the OG SA on PC, modded 1.0 version.

You got the og or the definitive edition? I would love to play that again but I heard definitive is terrible and og is kinda non-existent anywhere.

Just download the OG from somewhere else lol. It’s one of most pirated games ever

I used to sail the high seas in my younger days but now I prefer to not having sketchy files in my pc. I'm also an adult with income so I am okay with paying for that. Ofc in some limits. I also have enough games I can play instead so it's not like I need to go so far out of my way to play this game.

If you don’t want to pirate it I guess you could get buy a PC copy secondhand?

Me too but I mean. U can’t get OG from an official source anymore lol

Both. Definitive version is... Serviceable, but does have its issues. That bigger patch the games got... The other year(?) fixed plenty, but also the versions would need another big patch to really make them good.

DE versions also are easier than OG games.

The gang wars at the end are so frustrating.

I usually stop there.

I don't mind those, just need to have minigun and a ton of ammo (you can get that from Toreno's ranch), then it's pretty okay to pull off. Sometimes the AI does screw you over by running too far away from the gang war area, and the tiniest gang area can be hard to take over in the end.

I had the same thought

How many hours did you put into that game then? What is that, over 3000 hours?

1000+ on PS2, then a... Well, not legit version I played a lot, and later got a Trilogy key for Steam and run those OG games downgraded, with some mods.

Overall I bet my hours in SA are at least 2000+, I don't see how it could be less than that. There's just something special about it that makes me go back to it often. Used to be annual, summer vacation stuff. Now it's "whenever I feel like" and that's usually about annually.

I just found out about the Project Eagle mod today from Jeff Favignano’s channel, so I’m definitely trying that.

Yes, he did. I like his approach, a lot. I don't know why you were downvoted, have an upvote. 🫡
