I can get that gun in a playthrough and a half now haha I've had that game on so many consoles I don't consider it a playthrough until I have the Chicago typewriter and the infinite ammo rocket launcher
Same, i also have a route prepared if I start a brand new run (no NG+) and need to get 30 spinels for the exclusive ticket, by the time I reach castle.
I really like how they made both OG and RE very replayable. Shame the other titles didn't follow suit. RE9 tried, but it's a different kind of replayability. RE8 is ALMOST like 4, but the only thing I didn't like about it is, the guns. You sell them fully upgraded, you buy them fully upgraded still. Unlike in 4, you get to upgrade them again, giving you a goal to grind for money.
funny thing is, the most replayable modern RE games are 2 and 4 remakes, and they were made by the same team that's now working on Veronica (another masterpiece i hope). Meanwhile, the modern games that lack replayability are 7, 8, and 9 which were all made by Team A. It really shows that the main teams been struggling to create a great RE experience that understands what made re so unique, while the remake team is leagues ahead in understanding the classics philosophy. Tho tbf, the remake team has goated blueprint to work with, whereas the main team had to start from scratch.
I love speedrunning it but I sometimes drop it and just vibe with the combat because the gameplay loop feels rlly good to me. W bro, enjoy it when you hop on
I played the OG on GameCube at least 6 times and then every variant they released since. Currently on my third playthrough of the remake now. I can’t stop.
I kept that game on PS2 overdue from Blockbuster so long I was hoping I'd just get to keep it. I guess I returned it before it was forced for us to buy it. I played it nonstop while I had it.
Those were wild times when you could briefly have the best game you've ever played, have to return it and just not be able to play it again for a really long time.
I do not why, but I always quit when I reach the lake. Got into the boat and I just quit the game.
Been going through the same cycle at least three times. I enjoyed the gameplay, even the graphics are really good after the HD remake mod. But I just can't play it far.
I've played this game so many times it's not funny. I think I own it across 5 different systems. And I absolutely love that we've gotten 4 different ways to experience it between OG, Wii, VR, and the REmake. All are wonderfully done.
Tried to play original (PS2 emulator on handheld) but controls driving me crazy :)
Literally folded on first location with lots of villagers. Skill issue, but can't get myself in shape to try again
Absolutely, especially OG, and it’s never just one play through. Gotta do a fresh save, then NG+ with infinite weapons, then professional so I don’t “get rusty”
Suddenly a game I get through in a few hours is the only thing I’ve played for a week, repeated every couple of months.
Definitely first game I thought of, I enjoy the village and the castle much more than the island... Maybe it's because I had to put the 2nd disc in for it on GameCube 🤣
